²³ And it was not written on account of him alone, that it was imputed to him;

⁴ For so many things as were previously written were written for our instruction, in order that through the patience and through the consolation of the scriptures we may have hope.

⁹ For in the law of Moses it has been written, Thou shalt not muzzle the ox that plows. Is there a care to God for oxen, ¹⁰ or does he speak it altogether on account of us? For it was written on account of us, That the one plowing ought to plow in hope, and the one threshing in hope of partaking.

⁶ And these became our examples, in order that we may not lust after evil things, as they also lusted.

¹¹ But these things happened unto them as examples; and were written for our admonition, on whom the ends of the ages have descended.
