⁴ They were in great perplexity over this, when suddenly two men in dazzling clothing stood beside them.

² And there was a great earthquake. For an angel of the Lord came down from heaven and went and rolled the stone back and sat upon it. ³ His appearance was like lightning and his clothing was as white as snow. ⁴ The men on guard trembled with fear of him, and became like dead men. ⁵ And the angel said to the women, "You need not be afraid. I know that you are looking for Jesus who was crucified. ⁶ He is not here, he has risen, as he said he would do. Come and see the place where he was lying.

⁵ And when they went into the tomb they saw a young man in a white robe sitting at the right, and they were utterly amazed.

¹¹ But Mary stood just outside the tomb, weeping. And as she wept she looked down into the tomb, ¹² and saw two angels in white sitting where Jesus' body had been, one at his head and one at his feet.
