¹⁴ Myne awne kynsfolkes haue forsaken me, and my frendes haue put me out of remembraunce.

²³ And the councell of Ahithophel which he counceled in those dayes, was as a man had asked councell of God: euen so was all the councell of Ahithophel, both wyth Dauid and wyth Absalom.

¹¹ My louers & my neyghbours dyd stande lokynge vpon my trouble, & my kynsmen stode a farre of.

¹² But it was euen thou my companion: my gyde, and myne awne familyer frende. ¹³ We toke swete councell together, & walked in the house of God as frendes. ¹⁴ Lett death come hastely vpon them, and let them go downe quyck into hell, for wyckednes is in theyr dwellynges, and amonge them.

²⁴ A man that loueth his frendes wyll be compinable with them: and some frende sticketh faster to a man then his brother.

¹⁰ For why I herde so many derisions and blasphemies on euery syde of me: complayne vpon him, saye they, and we will tell his tale, yee euen of myne awne companions, and soch as were conuersant with me: went about to murther me, saying vpon him, we shall one waye or other begyle him and preuayle agaynst him, and be auenged of hym.

⁵ Let no man beleue his frende, ner put hys confydence in a brother. Kepe the porte of thy mouth from her that lyeth in thy bosome: ⁶ for the sonne shal put his father to dyshonoure, the daughter shall rise agaynst her mother, the daughter in lawe against her mother in lawe: and a mans foes shalbe euen they of hys awne housholde.

²¹ The brother shall delyuer vp the brother to deeth, & the father the sonne. And the children shal aryse agaynst their fathers and mothers, and shall put them to deeth:

¹⁸ I speake not of you all, I knowe whom I haue chosen. But that the scripture maye be fulfylled: he that eateth bread with me, hath lyfte vp hys hele against me.
