⁷ howbeit, in vayne do they serue me, teachyng the doctrines and commaundementes of men.

³² Therfore whatsoeuer I commaunde you, that take hede ye do and put thou nought therto, nor take ought therfrom.

²¹ Nether turne ye after vayne thinges whych are not able to profyt you, for they are but vanitye.

¹³ Therfore thus hath the Lorde sayde: For somoche as this people when they be in trouble, do honour me with their mouth & wt their lippes: but their hert is far fro me, & the feare which they haue vnto me, proceadeth of a commaundment that is taught of men.

¹⁴ Ye haue sayde: It is but lost labour, to serue God? What profyt haue we for kepynge his commaundementes, and for walkynge humbly before the Lorde of hostes?

⁷ But when ye praye bable not moch, as the heathen do: for they thyncke it will come to passe, that they shalbe herd for their moch bablynges sake.

⁹ but in vayne do they serue me; teachynge the doctrines and preceptes of men.

¹⁴ If Christ be not rysen agayne, then is oure preaching in vayne, and your fayth is also in vayne.

⁵⁸ Therfore my deare brethren, be ye stedfast and vnmouable, alwayes ryche in the worke of the Lorde, for as moch as ye knowe, how that youre labour, is not in vayne in the Lorde.

²² which all perisshe thorowe the very abuse: after the commaundmentes and doctrynes of men:

¹ The sprete speaketh euydently, that in the later tymes some shall departe from the fayth, and shall geue hede vnto spretes of erroure, and deuelysshe doctrines of them ² which speake false thorowe ypocrysye, & haue their consciences marcked wt an hote yron, ³ forbyddynge to mary, & commaundynge to abstayne from meates which God hath created to be receaued with geuynge thanckes, of them whych beleue, & knowe the trueth.

⁹ Folysshe questyons, and genealogies, and braulynge, thorowe stryuinges aboute the lawe, auoyde? for they are vnprofytable and superfluous.

²⁶ If eny man among you seme to be deuoute &, refrayneth not hys tong, but deceaueth hys awne hert, thys mannes deuocyon is in vayne.

²⁰ But wilt thou vnderstande. (O thou vayne man) the fayth without dedes is deed?

¹¹ And the smoke of theyr torment ascendeth vp euermore. And they haue no rest daye nor night, which worshyppe the beast & his ymage & whosoeuer receaueth the prynt of his name. ¹² Here is the pacyence of saynctes Heare are they that kepe the commaundementes and the fayth of Iesu.

¹⁸ I testifye vnto euery man that heareth the wordes of the prophesy of thys boke: yf eny man shall adde vnto these thynges, God shall adde vnto hym the plages that are wrytten in thys boke.
