⁵ Thornes and snares are in the waye of the frowarde: but he that doeth kepe hys soule, wyll fle from soche.

¹³ be ye sure, that the Lorde youre God will nomore cast out all these nacions from before you. But they shalbe snares and trappes vnto you and scourges in youre sydes, and thornes in youre eyes, vntyll ye peryshe from of thys good lande, whych the Lorde youre God hath geuen you.

⁸ For his fete are taken as it were in the nett, and he is at his wittes ende.

⁶ Upon the vngodly he shall rayne snares, fyre, and brymstone, storme & tempest: thys shalbe theyr porcyon to dryncke.

²⁶ With the cleane thou shalt be cleane: and with the frowarde thou shalt lerne frowardnes. ²⁷ For thou shalt saue the people that are in aduersite, and shalt brynge downe the hye lookes of the proude.

¹ Who so dwelleth vnder the defence of the most hyest, shal abyde vnder the shadow of the Almightye.

³ He that kepeth hys mouth kepeth hys lyfe: but who so openeth hys lyppes to euell, destroyeth hym selfe.

¹⁵ Good vnderstandinge geueth fauour, but harde is the waye of the despysers.

¹⁹ The waye of a slouthfull man, is as it were hedged with thornes, but the strete of the ryghteous is well clensed.

¹⁷ The path of the ryghteous is to eschue euell: & who so loketh well to his wayes, kepeth his awne soule.

¹⁶ Whoso kepeth the commaundment, kepeth his awne soule: but he that regardeth not hys waye, shall dye.

¹⁸ We knowe, that whosoeuer is borne of God, synneth not: but he that is begotten of God, kepeth hym selfe, & that wycked toucheth hym not.

²⁰ But ye derlye beloued, edifye youre selues in your most holy fayth, prayinge in the holy goost, ²¹ and kepe your selues in the loue of God, lokynge for the mercy of oure Lord Iesus Christ, vnto eternall lyfe.
