²² For these are the days of vengeance, when all things which are written shall be fulfilled.

²² Now the whole of this was done, that what was spoken of the Lord, by the prophet, might be fulfilled, saying,

¹⁹ For these days shall bring tribulation, such as the like hath never been from the beginning of the creation which God created unto this time, and never shall be more. ²⁰ And except the Lord had shortened the days, no flesh would have been preserved: but for the sake of those elect, whom he hath elected, he hath shortened the days.

⁵ But after thy obdurate and impenitent heart treasurest up for thyself wrath at the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God,

⁹ the Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptation, but to reserve the wicked unto the day of judgment to be punished:

⁷ but the present heavens and earth by the same word are treasured up, reserved for fire at the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.
