⁴⁰ On these two commandments, the whole law and the prophets depend.

¹² All things therefore whatsoever ye would be willing that men should do to you, just so do ye to them: for this is the law and the prophets.

¹⁷ For the law was given by Moses, but the grace and the reality came by Jesus Christ.

¹⁹ Now we know that whatsoever things the law saith, it speaks to those who are under the law: that every mouth might be sealed up, and all the world become criminal before God. ²⁰ Wherefore by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified before God: for by the law is the knowledge of sin. ²¹ But now distinct from the law the righteousness of God is manifest, receiving testimony from the law and the prophets;

⁹ For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt do no murder, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Thou shalt not covet; and if there be any other commandment, it is comprised in this word, even in this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

⁵ For the end of the commandment is love out of a clean heart, and good conscience, and faith unfeigned:

⁸ If indeed ye fulfil the royal law according to the scripture, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself, ye do well:

⁷ Beloved, let us love one another; because love is from God, and every one who loveth is born of God, and knoweth God. ⁸ He that loveth not, never knew God; for God is love. ⁹ By this was the love of God manifested to us, that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might have life by him. ¹⁰ Herein is love, not that we have loved God, but that he hath loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiatory sacrifice for our sins. ¹¹ Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another.

¹⁹ We love him, because he first loved us. ²⁰ If any person say, I love God, yet hateth his brother, he is a liar; for he who loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love the God whom he hath not seen? ²¹ So this commandment have we from him, that he who loveth God love also his brother.
