¹⁸ And to the angel of the church which is at Thyatira write, These things saith the Son of God, who hath his eyes as a flame of fire, and his feet like the molten brass;

¹⁷ and lo! a voice from the heavens, saying, This is my Son, the beloved, in whom is my delight.

³ And the tempter coming to him said, If thou art the Son of God, command that these stones be made loaves. ⁴ But he answering said, It is written, "Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God." ⁵ Then the devil taketh him up into the holy city, and placed him on a wing of the temple, ⁶ and saith to him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written, "that he shall give his angels a charge concerning thee: and in their hands shall they hold thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone."

⁵ And while he was yet speaking, behold, a luminous cloud overshadowed them; and lo! a voice out of the cloud, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom is my delight; hear him!

⁵⁴ Then the centurion, and they who were with him, guarding Jesus, when they saw the earthquake, and the things which were done, were exceedingly terrified, saying, Assuredly this was the Son of God.

³⁵ And the angel answering said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Most High shall overshadow thee; wherefore also the Holy One that shall be born of thee, shall be called the Son of God.

¹⁴ And the Word became incarnate, and tabernacled with us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
