⁵ For they who are after the flesh, mind the things of the flesh; but they who are after the Spirit, the things of the Spirit.

³³ But he turned himself around, and seeing his disciples, he rebuked Peter, saying, Get thee behind me, Satan: for thou dost not relish the things which are of God, but those that are of men.

⁶ That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

⁶ For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. ⁷ Because the propensity of the flesh is inimical against God: for it is not in subjection to the law of God, neither indeed can it be.

⁹ But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwelleth in you. But if any man hath not the Spirit of Christ, he is not his.

¹² Truly then we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh. ¹³ For if ye live after the flesh, ye are ready to die: but if by the Spirit ye mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live. ¹⁴ For as many as are guided by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.

¹⁴ But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are folly to him: and he cannot know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

⁴⁸ As is the earthly, so are they also that are earthly: and as is the heavenly, such also are they that are heavenly.

³ For though we walk in the flesh, we war not after the flesh:

¹⁹ Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are these: adultery, whoredom, impurity, lasciviousness, ²⁰ idolatry, magical charms, enmities, strifes, jealousies, animosities, quarrels, divisions, heresies, ²¹ envyings, murders, drunkenness, revels, and the like of these, concerning which I tell you now, as I have told you already, that they who live in such practices shall not inherit the kingdom of God. ²² But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, fidelity, ²³ meekness, temperance; against such there is no law. ²⁴ But they who are Christ's have crucified the flesh with its passions and irregular appetites. ²⁵ If we live by the Spirit, let us also walk by the Spirit.

⁹ (for the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth;)

¹⁸ For many walk, whom I have often mentioned to you, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ: ¹⁹ whose end is perdition, whose God is their belly, and their glory in their shame, whose minds are occupied with earthly things.

¹ IF ye then be risen with Christ, seek the things which are above, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God. ² Fix your minds on things above, not on things on the earth. ³ For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.

¹⁰ especially such as walk after the flesh in the eager pursuit of defilement, and despise government. Daring, self-sufficient, they tremble not at dignities, railing against them.
