¹² Love the LORD“Now Israel, what does the LORD your God desire from you? Only this: fear him, walk in all his ways, love him, serve him with all your heart and in all your life,

²⁹ If from there you will seek the LORD your God, then you will find him if you seek him with all your heart and soul.

³³ You are to walk in every pathway that the LORD your God commanded you, so that life may go well for you, and so that you will prolong your days in the land that you will possess.’”

⁵ You are to love the LORD your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your strength.

¹³ Fear the LORD your God, serve him, and make your oaths in his name.

¹³ Delights of a Bountiful Land“If you carefully observe the commands that I’m giving you today, to love the LORD your God and serve him with all your heart and soul,

¹⁶ That’s why I’m commanding you today to love the LORD your God by walking in his ways and by observing his commands, statutes, and ordinances, so that you may live long, increase, and so that the LORD your God may bless you in the land that you are about to enter to possess.

²⁰ Love the LORD your God, obey his voice, and cling to him, because he is your life—even your long life—so that you may live in the land that the LORD promised to give Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.”

⁵ Only be very careful to keep the commands and the Law that Moses the servant of the LORD commanded you—that is, to love the LORD your God, to follow in all of his ways, to keep his commands, to stay close to him, and to serve him with all your heart and soul.”

¹¹ If they listen and serve him, they’ll finish their lives in prosperity and their years will be pleasant.

Gratitude for Victory He said: “I love you, Lord, my strength.

⁹ Fear the LORD, you holy ones of his; for those who fear him lack nothing.

¹³ If only my people would obey me, if only Israel would walk in my ways!

¹ A Song of Ascents
The Blessings of Fearing God How blessed are all who fear the LORD as they follow in his ways.

²⁰ The LORD preserves everyone who loves him, but he will destroy all of the wicked.

²² Indeed, when I brought your ancestors out of the land of Egypt, I didn’t speak or command them about burnt offering and sacrifice, ²³ but I did give them this command: ‘Obey me and I’ll be your God, and you will be my people. Walk in all the ways that I command you so it will go well for you.’

³⁹ I’ll give them one heart and one lifestyle so they’ll fear me always for their own good and for the good of their descendants after them. ⁴⁰ I’ll make an everlasting covenant with them that I won’t turn away from doing good for them. I’ll put the fear of me in their hearts so they won’t turn away from me.

²⁰ When they live by my statutes and keep my ordinances by observing them, then they’ll be my people and I will be their God.

⁸ He has made it clear to you, mortal man, what is good and what the LORD is requiring from you— to act with justice, to treasure the LORD’s gracious love, and to walk humbly in the company of your God.

⁹ Indeed, then I will return my people to a pure language so that they all may call upon the name of the LORD, serving him with a united will.

²⁹ Place my yoke on you and learn from me, because I am gentle and humble, and you will find rest for your souls, ³⁰ because my yoke is pleasant, and my burden is light.”

³⁷ Jesus told him, “‘You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’

²⁹ Jesus answered, “The most important is, ‘Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God is one Lord, ³⁰ and you must love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.’ ³¹ The second is this: ‘You must love your neighbor as yourself.’ No other commandment is greater than these.”
³² Then the scribe told him, “Well said, Teacher! You have told the truth that ‘God is one, and there is no other besides him.’ ³³ To love him with all your heart, with all your understanding, and with all your strength, and to love your neighbor as yourself is more important than all the burnt offerings and sacrifices.”

²⁷ He answered, “You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength, and with all your mind. And you must love your neighbor as yourself.”

⁴² “How terrible it will be for you Pharisees! You give a tenth of your mint, spices, and every kind of herb, but you neglect justice and the love of God. These are the things you should have practiced, without neglecting the others.

³¹ So the church throughout Judea, Galilee, and Samaria enjoyed peace. As it continued to be built up and to live in the fear of the Lord, it kept increasing in numbers through the encouragement of the Holy Spirit.

⁹ For God, whom I serve with my spirit by preaching the gospel about his Son, is my witness how constantly I mention you

²⁸ And we know that for those who love God, that is, for those who are called according to his purpose, all things are working together for good.

¹¹ For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation to all people. ¹² It trains us to renounce ungodly living and worldly passions so that we might live sensible, honest, and godly lives in the present age

²⁸ Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful and worship God in reverence and fear in a way that pleases him.

¹⁵ Instead, be holy in every aspect of your life, just as the one who called you is holy. ¹⁶ For it is written, “You must be holy, because I am holy.”
¹⁷ If you call “Father” the one who judges everyone impartially according to what they have done, you must live in reverent fear as long as you are strangers in a strange land.

¹⁵ Stop loving the world and the things that are in the world. If anyone persists in loving the world, the Father’s love is not in him.

¹⁹ We love because God first loved us. ²⁰ Whoever says, “I love God,” but hates his brother is a liar. The one who does not love his brother whom he has seen cannot love the God whom he has not seen.

² This is how we know that we love God’s children: we love God and keep his commandments. ³ For this demonstrates our love for God: We keep his commandments, and his commandments are not difficult,

⁵ Who overcomes the world? Is it not the person who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?
