⁴⁵ These are the instructions, decrees, and ordinances that Moses declared to the Israelis when they came out of Egypt.

¹ Moses Presents the Privileges of the Covenant“Now, Israel, listen to the statutes and the ordinances that I’m teaching you to observe so you may live and go in to take possession of the land that the LORD, the God of your ancestors, is about to give you.

¹⁷ Be sure to observe the commands of the LORD your God, his testimonies and his decrees that he gave you.

²⁰ Remember what the LORD has Done“When your son asks you in the future, ‘What is the meaning of the instructions, decrees, and ordinances that the LORD our God commanded you?’

³ by keeping the charge that the LORD your God entrusted to you. Live life his way, keep his statutes, his commands, his ordinances, and his testimonies, just as they’re written down in the Law of Moses, so that you may succeed in everything you do and wherever you go,

² How blessed are those who observe his decrees, who seek him with all of their heart,

⁵ Oh, that my ways were steadfast, so I may keep your statutes.

⁷ I will praise you with an upright heart, as I learn your righteous decrees.

¹⁴ I find joy in the path of your decrees, as if I owned all kinds of riches.

²² Remove scorn and disrespect from me, for I observe your decrees.

²⁴ I take joy in your decrees, for they are my counselors.

¹¹¹ I have inherited your decrees forever, because they are the joy of my heart.
