¹² Wisdom is of Greater Value than Precious Stones“Where can wisdom be found? Where is understanding’s home?

⁹ So give your servant an understanding mind to govern your people, so I can discern between good and evil. Otherwise, how will I be able to govern this great people of yours?”

²⁰ Wisdom is from God“From where, then, does wisdom originate? Where does understanding live?

²⁸ He has commanded mankind: ‘To fear the Lord—that is wisdom; to move away from evil—that is understanding.’”

⁶ Indeed, you are pleased with truth in the inner person, and you will teach me wisdom in my innermost parts.

⁴ if you seek it like silver and search for it like hidden treasure, ⁵ then you will understand the fear of the LORD and learn to know God. ⁶ For the LORD gives wisdom, and from his mouth come knowledge and understanding.

¹⁹ By wisdom the LORD laid the earth’s foundations, and by understanding he set the heavens in place.

²³ I used my wisdom to test all of this. I said, “I want to be wise,” but it was beyond me. ²⁴ Whatever it is, it’s far off and most profound. Who can attain it? ²⁵ I committed myself to understand, to learn, to search for wisdom and explanations, and to understand both the evil that is foolishness and the stupidity that is delusion.

¹⁹ For it is written, “I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and the intelligence of the intelligent I will reject.”
²⁰ Where is the wise person? Where is the scholar? Where is the philosopher of this age? God has turned the wisdom of the world into nonsense, hasn’t he?

³ In him are stored all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.

⁵ Now if any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives to everyone generously without a rebuke, and it will be given to him.

¹⁷ Every generous act of giving and every perfect gift is from above and comes down from the Father who made the heavenly lights, in whom there is no inconsistency or shifting shadow.
