¹⁴ He is to take blood from the ox and sprinkle it with his forefinger toward the surface of the Mercy Seat. Then he is to sprinkle the blood on the surface of the Mercy Seat with his forefinger seven times.

⁵ The anointed priest is to take blood from the bull to the Tent of Meeting. ⁶ The priest is to dip his finger in the blood and sprinkle some of the blood seven times in the LORD’s presence in front of the curtain of the sanctuary.

²⁴ By his grace they are justified freely through the redemption that is in the Messiah Jesus, ²⁵ whom God offered as a place where atonement by the Messiah’s blood would occur through faith. He did this to demonstrate his righteousness, because he had waited patiently to deal with sins committed in the past. ²⁶ He wanted to demonstrate at the present time that he himself is righteous and that he justifies anyone who has the faithfulness of Jesus.

⁷ But only the high priest went into the second part, and then only once a year, and never without blood, which he offered for himself and for the sins committed by the people in ignorance.

¹³ For if the blood of goats and bulls and the ashes of a heifer sprinkled on those who are unclean purifies them physically,

²⁵ Nor did he go into heaven to sacrifice himself again and again, the way the high priest goes into the Holy Place every year with blood that is not his own.

⁴ for it is impossible for the blood of bulls and goats to take away sins.

¹⁰ By God’s will we have been sanctified once and for all through the sacrifice of the body of Jesus, the Messiah.
¹¹ Day after day every priest stands and repeatedly offers the same sacrifices that can never take away sins. ¹² But when this priest had offered for all time one sacrifice for sins, “he sat down at the right hand of God.”

¹⁹ How We Should LiveTherefore, my brothers, since we have confidence to enter the sanctuary by the blood of Jesus,

²⁴ to Jesus, the mediator of a new covenant, and to the sprinkled blood that speaks a better message than Abel’s.
