⁶ Now these things, brethren, I have in a figure transferred to myself and Apollos for your sakes, that in us ye might learn not to think beyond the things which are written, that no one of you be puffed up for the one against the other.

²⁸ And Joshua the son of Nun, the minister of Moses from his youth up, answered and said: 'My lord Moses, shut them in.' ²⁹ And Moses said unto him: 'Art thou jealous for my sake? would that all the LORD'S people were prophets, that the LORD would put His spirit upon them!'

¹¹ For He knoweth base men; and when He seeth iniquity, will He not then consider it? ¹² But an empty man will get understanding, when a wild ass's colt is born a man.

⁴ (8:5) What is man, that Thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that Thou thinkest of him?

³ Put not your trust in princes, nor in the son of man, in whom there is no help.

²² Cease ye from man, in whose nostrils is a breath; for how little is he to be accounted!

⁵ Thus saith the LORD: Cursed is the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the LORD. ⁶ For he shall be like a tamarisk in the desert, and shall not see when good cometh; but shall inhabit the parched places in the wilderness, a salt land and not inhabited.

⁸ But be not ye called Rabbi; for one is your teacher, even Christ, and all ye are brethren. ⁹ And call no man your father on the earth; for one is your Father, even he who is in heaven. ¹⁰ Neither be ye called masters; for one is your master, even the Christ.

²⁶ And they came unto John, and said to him, Rabbi, he that was with thee beyond the Jordan, to whom thou hast borne witness, behold, the same baptizeth, and all men come to him. ²⁷ John answered and said, A man can receive nothing, except it have been given him from heaven.

³ For I say, through the grace that was given me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think as to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to each man a measure of faith.

¹² Now this I mean, that each one of you saith, I am of Paul, and I of Apollos; and I of Cephas, and I of Christ.

¹⁹ For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, And the discernment of the discerning will I bring to nought.

³¹ that, according as it is written, He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord.

⁴ For when one saith, I am of Paul, and another, I am of Apollos, are ye not carnal? ⁵ What then is Apollos? and what is Paul? Ministers through whom ye believed, and each as the Lord gave to him. ⁶ I planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the increase. ⁷ So then neither is he that planteth anything, neither he that watereth, but God that giveth the increase.

¹⁹ For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, He that taketh the wise in their craftiness:

²¹ Wherefore let no one glory in men. For all things are yours,

¹⁸ Now some are puffed up, as though I were not coming to you. ¹⁹ But I will come to you shortly, if the Lord will, and I will know, not the word of them that are puffed up, but the power.

² And ye are puffed up, and did not rather mourn, that he that had done this deed might be taken away from among you.

⁶ Your glorying is not good. Know ye not that a little leaven leaveneth the whole lump?

¹ Now concerning things sacrificed to idols; We know that we all have knowledge. Knowledge puffeth up, but love edifieth.

²³ And this I do for the gospel's sake, that I may be a joint partaker thereof.

⁴ Love suffereth long, and is kind, love envieth not, love vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up,

¹⁵ For all things are for your sakes, that the grace, being multiplied through the many, may cause the thanksgiving to abound unto the glory of God.

⁷ Ye look at the things that are before your face. If any man trusteth in himself that he is Christ's, let him consider this again with himself, that, even as he is Christ's, so also are we.

¹² For we are not bold to number or compare ourselves with certain of them that commend themselves; but they themselves, measuring themselves by themselves, and comparing themselves with themselves, are without understanding.

¹⁵ not glorying beyond our measure, that is, in other men's labors, but having hope that, as your faith groweth, we shall be magnified in you according to our province unto further abundance,

⁴ For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we did not preach, or if ye receive a different spirit, which ye did not receive, or a different gospel, which ye did not accept, ye do well to bear with him.

¹² But what I do, that I will do, that I may cut off occasion from them that desire an occasion, that wherein they glory, they may be found even as we. ¹³ For such men are false apostles, deceitful workers, fashioning themselves into apostles of Christ. ¹⁴ And no marvel, for even Satan fashioneth himself into an angel of light. ¹⁵ It is no great thing therefore if his ministers also fashion themselves as ministers of righteousness, whose end shall be according to their works.

⁶ For if I should desire to glory, I shall not be foolish, for I shall speak the truth; but I forbear, lest any man should account of me above that which he seeth me to be, or heareth from me.

¹⁹ Again, think ye that we are excusing ourselves unto you? in the sight of God speak we in Christ. But all things, beloved, are for your edifying.

¹⁸ Let no man rob you of your prize by a voluntary humility and worshipping of the angels, dwelling in the things which he hath not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind,

⁵ how that our gospel came not unto you in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Spirit, and in much assurance, even as ye know what manner of men we showed ourselves toward you for your sake.

¹⁰ Therefore I endure all things for the elect's sake, that they also may obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory.
