²¹ Beloved, if our heart condemn us not, we have boldness toward God,

²⁶ Then surely shalt thou have thy delight in the Almighty, and shalt lift up thy face unto God.

⁶ My righteousness I hold fast, and will not let it go; my heart shall not reproach me so long as I live.

³ (7:4) O LORD my God, if I have done this; if there be iniquity in my hands; ⁴ (7:5) If I have requited him that did evil unto me, or spoiled mine adversary unto emptiness; ⁵ (7:6) Let the enemy pursue my soul, and overtake it, and tread my life down to the earth; yea, let him lay my glory in the dust. ² I will give heed unto the way of integrity; Oh when wilt Thou come unto me? I will walk within my house in the integrity of my heart.

⁴ For I know nothing against myself, yet am I not hereby justified; but he that judgeth me is the Lord.

¹² For our glorying is this, the testimony of our conscience, that in holiness and sincerity of God, not in fleshly wisdom but in the grace of God, we behaved ourselves in the world, and more abundantly to you-ward.

⁸ I desire therefore that the men pray in every place, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and disputing.

¹⁶ Let us therefore draw near with boldness unto the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy, and may find grace to help us in time of need.

²² let us draw near with a true heart in fullness of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience; and having our body washed with pure water,

²⁸ And now, my little children, abide in him, that, when he shall be manifested, we may have boldness, and not be ashamed before him at his coming.

¹⁷ Herein is love made perfect with us, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment, because as he is, even so are we in this world.

¹⁴ And this is the boldness which we have toward him, that, if we ask anything according to his will, he heareth us:
