he even built them for himself within, for a Sanctuary, even for the most holy place. ¹⁷ And the house, that is, the temple before the Sanctuary, was forty cubits long. ¹⁸ And the cedar on the house within was carved with knops and open flowers; ²⁶ While Israel dwelt in Heshbon and its towns, and in Aroer and its towns, and in all the cities that are along by the side of the Arnon, three hundred years; wherefore did ye not recover them within that time?

³ And the LORD said unto him: 'I have heard thy prayer and thy supplication, that thou hast made before Me: I have hallowed this house, which thou hast built, to put My name there for ever; and Mine eyes and My heart shall be there perpetually. ⁴ And as for thee, if thou wilt walk before Me, as David thy father walked, in integrity of heart, and in uprightness, to do according to all that I have commanded thee, and wilt keep My statutes and Mine ordinances; ⁵ then I will establish the throne of thy kingdom over Israel for ever; according as I promised to David thy father, saying: There shall not fail thee a man upon the throne of Israel. ⁶ But if ye shall turn away from following Me, ye or your children, and not keep My commandments and My statutes which I have set before you, but shall go and serve other gods, and worship them;

²⁶ for the four chief porters were in a set office. These were the Levites. They were also over the chambers and over the treasuries in the house of God.

¹⁹ Jesus answered and said unto them, Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up. ²⁰ The Jews therefore said, Forty and six years was this temple in building, and wilt thou raise it up in three days?

²³ and Jesus was walking in the temple in Solomon's porch.

⁶ Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one cometh unto the Father, but by me.

¹⁰ and they took knowledge of him, that it was he that sat for alms at the Beautiful Gate of the temple, and they were filled with wonder and amazement at that which had happened unto him. ¹¹ And as the lame man that was healed held Peter and John, all the people ran together unto them in the porch that is called Solomon's, greatly wondering.

¹⁹ Or know ye not that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit in you, which ye have from God? and ye are not your own,

⁵ Now he that wrought us for this very thing is God, who gave unto us the earnest of the Spirit.

¹⁶ And what agreement hath a temple of God with idols? for ye are a temple of the living God, even as God said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them, and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.

²⁰ being built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus himself being the chief corner stone, ²¹ in whom each several building, fitly framed together, groweth into a holy temple in the Lord, ²² in whom ye also are builded together for a habitation of God in the Spirit.

¹⁰ to the intent that now unto the principalities and the powers in the heavenly places might be made known through the church the manifold wisdom of God,

¹⁸ may be strong to apprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth,

¹² giving thanks unto the Father, who made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light,

²³ if so be that ye continue in the faith, grounded and stedfast, and not moved away from the hope of the gospel which ye heard, which was preached in all creation under heaven, whereof I Paul was made a minister.

⁷ rooted and builded up in him, and established in your faith, even as ye were taught, abounding in thanksgiving.

¹⁴ Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to do service for the sake of them that shall inherit salvation?

³ And after the second veil, the tabernacle which is called the Holy of holies,

¹⁹ Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holy place by the blood of Jesus, ²⁰ by the way which he dedicated for us, a new and living way, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh,

¹⁰ for he looked for the city which hath the foundations, whose builder and maker is God.

⁵ Be ye free from the love of money, content with such things as ye have; for himself hath said, I will in no wise fail thee, neither will I in any wise forsake thee.

²⁰ for the wrath of man worketh not the righteousness of God.

¹⁷ But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, easy to be entreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without variance, and without hypocrisy. ¹⁸ And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace for them that make peace.

¹² To whom it was revealed, that not unto themselves, but unto you, did they minister these things, which now have been announced unto you through them that preached the gospel unto you by the Holy Spirit sent forth from heaven, which things angel desire to look into.

⁵ ye also, as living stones, are built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.

¹¹ And I saw, and I heard as it were the voice of many angels round about the throne and the living creatures and the elders, and the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands, ¹² saying with a great voice, Worthy is the Lamb that hath been slain to receive the power, and the riches, and wisdom, and might and honor, and glory, and blessing. ¹³ And every creature which is in the heaven, and on the earth, and under the earth, and on the sea, and all things that are in them, heard I saying, Unto him that sitteth on the throne, and unto the Lamb, be the blessing, and the honor, and the glory, and the dominion, for ever and ever. Amen. ¹⁴ And the four living creatures saying the amen, and the elders fell down and worshipped.

⁹ After these things I saw, and behold, a great multitude, which no man could number, out of every nation and of all tribes and peoples and tongues, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, arrayed in white robes, and palms in their hands,

² And the court which is without the temple leave without, and measure it not, for it hath been given unto the nations; and the holy city shall they tread under foot forty and two months.

³ And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he shall dwell with them, and they shall be his peoples, and God himself shall be with them:

¹⁶ And the city lieth foursquare, and the length thereof is as great as the breadth; and he measured the city with the reed, twelve thousand and twelve furlongs; the length and the breadth and the height thereof are equal. ¹⁷ And he measured the wall thereof, a hundred and forty and four cubits, according to the measure of a man, that is, of an angel. ¹⁸ And the building of the wall thereof was jasper; and the city was pure gold, like unto pure glass. ¹⁹ The foundations of the wall of the city were adorned with all manner of precious stones. The first foundation was jasper, the second, sapphire, the third, chalcedony, the fourth, emerald, ²⁰ the fifth, sardonyx, the sixth, sardius, the seventh, chrysolite, the eighth, beryl, the ninth, topaz, the tenth, chrysoprase, the eleventh, jacinth, the twelfth, amethyst. ²¹ And the twelve gates were twelve pearls, each one of the several gates was of one pearl; and the street of the city was pure gold, as it were transparent glass.
