This is an ordinance for ever to Israel. ⁵ (2:4) And the house which I build is great; for great is our God above all gods. ⁶ (2:5) But who is able to build Him a house, seeing the heaven and the heaven of heavens cannot contain Him? who am I then, that I should build Him a house, save only to offer before Him? ⁷ (2:6) Now therefore send me a man skilful to work in gold, and in silver, and in brass, and in iron, and in purple, and crimson, and blue, and that hath skill to grave all manner of gravings, to be with the skilful men that are with me in Judah and in Jerusalem, whom David my father did provide. ⁸ (2:7) Send me also cedar-trees, cypress-trees, and sandal-wood, out of Lebanon; for I know that thy servants have skill to cut timber in Lebanon; and, behold, my servants shall be with thy servants, ⁹ (2:8) even to prepare me timber in abundance; for the house which I am about to build shall be great and wonderful. ¹⁰ (2:9) And, behold, I will give to thy servants, the hewers that cut timber, twenty thousand measures of beaten wheat, and twenty thousand measures of barley, and twenty thousand baths of wine, and twenty thousand baths of oil.' ¹¹ (2:10) Then Huram the king of Tyre answered in writing, which he sent to Solomon: 'Because the LORD loveth His people, He hath made thee king over them.' ¹² (2:11) Huram said moreover: 'Blessed be the LORD, the God of Israel, that made heaven and earth, who hath given to David the king a wise son, endued with discretion and understanding, that should build a house for the LORD, and a house for his kingdom. ¹³ (2:12) And now I have sent a skilful man, endued with understanding, even Huram my master craftsman, ¹⁴ (2:13) the son of a woman of the daughters of Dan, and his father was a man of Tyre, skilful to work in gold, and in silver, in brass, in iron, in stone, and in timber, in purple, in blue, and in fine linen, and in crimson; also to grave any manner of graving, and to devise any device; to do whatever may be set before him, with thy skilful men, and with the skilful men of my lord David thy father. ¹⁵ (2:14) Now therefore the wheat and the barley, the oil and the wine, which my lord hath spoken of, let him send unto his servants; ¹⁶ (2:15) and we will cut wood out of Lebanon, as much as thou shalt need; and we will bring it to thee in floats by sea to Joppa; and thou shalt carry it up to Jerusalem.' ¹⁷ (2:16) And Solomon numbered all the strangers that were in the land of Israel, after the numbering wherewith David his father had numbered them; and they were found a hundred and fifty thousand and three thousand and six hundred. ¹⁸ (2:17) And he set threescore and ten thousand of them to bear burdens, and fourscore thousand to be hewers in the mountains, and three thousand and six hundred overseers to set the people at work.

¹⁷ May his name endure for ever; may his name be continued as long as the sun; may men also bless themselves by him; may all nations call him happy. ¹⁸ Blessed be the LORD God, the God of Israel, who only doeth wondrous things; ¹⁹ And blessed be His glorious name for ever; and let the whole earth be filled with His glory. Amen, and Amen.

⁸ There is none like unto Thee among the gods, O Lord, and there are no works like Thine. ⁹ All nations whom Thou hast made shall come and prostrate themselves before Thee, O Lord; and they shall glorify Thy name.

⁵ (102:6) By reason of the voice of my sighing my bones cleave to my flesh.

²⁵ (102:26) Of old Thou didst lay the foundation of the earth; and the heavens are the work of Thy hands.

⁸ Our help is in the name of the LORD, who made heaven and earth.

⁵ For I know that the LORD is great, and that our Lord is above all gods.

⁵ To Him that by understanding made the heavens, for His mercy endureth for ever. ⁶ To Him that spread forth the earth above the waters, for His mercy endureth for ever.

³ Great is the LORD, and highly to be praised; and His greatness is unsearchable.

⁵ Happy is he whose help is the God of Jacob, whose hope is in the LORD his God, ⁶ Who made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is; who keepeth truth for ever;

²⁶ For He doth instruct him aright; his God doth teach him.

²⁹ This also cometh forth from the LORD of hosts: Wonderful is His counsel, and great His wisdom.

¹⁰ And aliens shall build up thy walls, and their kings shall minister unto thee; for in My wrath I smote thee, but in My favour have I had compassion on thee.

¹ Thus saith the LORD: The heaven is My throne, and the earth is My footstool; where is the house that ye may build unto Me? And where is the place that may be My resting-place?

⁶ There is none like unto Thee, O LORD; Thou art great, and Thy name is great in might.

¹⁰ But the LORD God is the true God, He is the living God, and the everlasting King; at His wrath the earth trembleth, and the nations are not able to abide His indignation.

²⁰ And as for the beauty of their ornament, which was set for a pride, they made the images of their abominations and their detestable things thereof; therefore have I made it unto them as an unclean thing.

⁹ After this manner therefore pray ye. Our Father who art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. ¹⁰ Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, as in heaven, so on the earth.

⁶⁸ Blessed be the Lord, the God of Israel, For he hath visited and wrought redemption for his people,

⁷ And in that same house remain, eating and drinking such things as they give; for the laborer is worthy of his hire. Go not from house to house.

³ All things were made through him, and without him was not anything made that hath been made.

²⁴ And they, when they heard it, lifted up their voice to God with one accord, and said, O Master, thou art the God that didst make the heaven and the earth and the sea, and all that in them is:

⁴⁸ Howbeit the Most High dwelleth not in temples made with hands, as saith the prophet, ⁴⁹ The heaven is my throne, And the earth the footstool of my feet; What manner of house will ye build Me? saith the Lord; Or what is the place of My rest?

³⁶ Now there was at Joppa a certain disciple named Tabitha, which by interpretation is called Dorcas; this woman was full of good works and almsdeeds which she did.

³² Send therefore to Joppa, and call unto thee Simon, who is surnamed Peter, he lodgeth in the house of Simon a tanner, by the sea side; who, when he cometh, shall speak unto thee.

¹⁵ and saying, Sirs, why do ye these things? We also are men of like passions with you, and bring you good tidings, that ye should turn from these vain things unto a living God, who made the heaven and the earth and the sea, and all that in them is:

⁷ Render to all their dues; tribute to whom tribute is due, custom to whom custom, fear to whom fear, honor to whom honor. ⁸ Owe no man anything, save to love one another; for he that loveth his neighbor hath fulfilled the law.

¹⁶ to the one a savor from death unto death, to the other a savor from life unto life. And who is sufficient for these things?

⁸ Unto me, who am less than the least of all saints, was this grace given, to preach unto the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ,

¹⁶ for in him were all things created, in the heavens and upon the earth, things visible and things invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers, all things have been created through him, and unto him, ¹⁷ and he is before all things, and in him all things consist.

¹⁵ which in its own times he shall show, who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings, and Lord of lords,

³ Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to his great mercy begat us again unto a living hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,

¹¹ Worthy art thou, our Lord and our God, the Holy One, to receive the glory and the honor and the power; for thou didst create all things, and because of thy will they are, and were created.

⁶ and sware by him that liveth for ever and ever, who created the heaven and the things that are therein, and the earth and the things that are therein, and the sea and the things that are therein, that there shall be delay no longer:
