¹⁸ to open their eyes, so as to turn them back from darkness to light and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive remission of sins and an inheritance among them that are sanctified by faith in me.

¹ A Psalm of David. Maschil. Happy is he whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is pardoned. ² Happy is the man unto whom the LORD counteth not iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no guile.

¹⁸ Open Thou mine eyes, that I may behold wondrous things out of Thy law.

⁸ The LORD openeth the eyes of the blind; the LORD raiseth up them that are bowed down; the LORD loveth the righteous;

² (9:1) The people that walked in darkness have seen a great light; they that dwelt in the land of the shadow of death, upon them hath the light shined.

¹⁸ And in that day shall the deaf hear the words of a book, and the eyes of the blind shall see out of obscurity and out of darkness.

³ And the eyes of them that see shall not be closed, and the ears of them that hear shall attend.

⁵ Then the eyes of the blind shall be opened, and the ears of the deaf shall be unstopped.

⁷ To open the blind eyes, to bring out the prisoners from the dungeon, and them that sit in darkness out of the prison-house.

¹⁶ And I will bring the blind by a way that they knew not, in paths that they knew not will I lead them; I will make darkness light before them, and rugged places plain. These things will I do, and I will not leave them undone.

⁸ The blind people that have eyes shall be brought forth, and the deaf that have ears.

⁶ Yea, He saith: 'It is too light a thing that thou shouldest be My servant to raise up the tribes of Jacob, and to restore the offspring of Israel; I will also give thee for a light of the nations, that My salvation may be unto the end of the earth.'

²⁴ Shall the prey be taken from the mighty, or the captives of the victorious be delivered? ²⁵ But thus saith the LORD: Even the captives of the mighty shall be taken away, and the prey of the terrible shall be delivered; and I will contend with him that contendeth with thee, and I will save thy children.

⁸ By oppression and judgment he was taken away, and with his generation who did reason? for he was cut off out of the land of the living, for the transgression of my people to whom the stroke was due. ⁹ And they made his grave with the wicked, and with the rich his tomb; although he had done no violence, neither was any deceit in his mouth.' ¹⁰ Yet it pleased the LORD to crush him by disease; to see if his soul would offer itself in restitution, that he might see his seed, prolong his days, and that the purpose of the LORD might prosper by his hand: ¹¹ Of the travail of his soul he shall see to the full, even My servant, who by his knowledge did justify the Righteous One to the many, and their iniquities he did bear. ¹² Therefore will I divide him a portion among the great, and he shall divide the spoil with the mighty; because he bared his soul unto death, and was numbered with the transgressors; yet he bore the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.

¹ Arise, shine, for thy light is come, and the glory of the LORD is risen upon thee. ² For, behold, darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the peoples; but upon thee the LORD will arise, and His glory shall be seen upon thee. ³ And nations shall walk at thy light, and kings at the brightness of thy rising.

² (3:20) But unto you that fear My name shall the sun of righteousness arise with healing in its wings; and ye shall go forth, and gambol as calves of the stall.

¹⁶ The people that sat in darkness Saw a great light, And to them that sat in the region and shadow of death, To them did light spring up.

²² The lamp of the body is the eye; if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light. ²³ But if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is the darkness!

⁷⁷ To give knowledge of salvation unto his people In the remission of their sins,

⁷⁹ To shine upon them that sit in darkness and the shadow of death, To guide our feet into the way of peace.

³² A light for revelation to the Gentiles, And the glory of thy people Israel.

¹⁸ The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, Because he anointed me to preach good tidings to the poor; He hath sent me to heal the broken in heart, To proclaim release to the captives, And recovering of sight to the blind, To set at liberty them that are bruised,

²¹ When the strong man fully armed guardeth his own court, his goods are in peace; ²² but when a stronger than he shall come upon him, and overcome him, he taketh from him his whole armor wherein he trusted, and divideth his spoils.

⁴⁵ Then opened he their mind, that they might understand the scriptures,

⁴⁷ and that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name unto all the nations, beginning from Jerusalem.

⁴ In him was life, and the life was the light of men. ⁵ And the light shineth in the darkness, and the darkness apprehended it not. ⁶ There came a man, sent from God, whose name was John. ⁷ The same came for witness, that he might bear witness of the light, that all might believe through him. ⁸ He was not the light, but came that he might bear witness of the light. ⁹ There was the true light, even the light which lighteth every man, coming into the world.

¹⁹ And this is the judgment, that the light is come into the world, and men loved the darkness rather than the light, for their works were evil.

¹⁰ Jesus answered and said unto unto her, If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink, thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water.

¹⁴ but whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst, but the water that I shall give him shall become in him a well of water springing up unto eternal life.

³⁸ He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, from within him shall flow rivers of living water. ³⁹ But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believed on him were to receive; for the Holy Spirit was not yet given, because Jesus was not yet glorified.

¹² Again therefore Jesus spake unto them, saying, I am the light of the world; he that followeth me shall not walk in the darkness, but shall have the light of life.

⁵ When I am in the world, I am the light of the world.

³⁹ And Jesus said, For judgment came I into this world, that they that see not may see, and that they that see may become blind.

³⁵ Jesus therefore said unto them, Yet a little while is the light among you. Walk while ye have the light, that darkness overtake you not; and he that walketh in the darkness knoweth not whither he goeth. ³⁶ While ye have the light, believe on the light, that ye may become sons of light. These things spake Jesus, and he departed and hid himself from them.

¹⁷ Sanctify them in thy truth; thy word is truth.

³⁸ And Peter said unto them, Repent ye, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ unto the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

¹⁹ Repent ye therefore, and turn again, that your sins may be blotted out, that so there may come seasons of refreshing from the presence of the Lord,

³¹ Him did God exalt with his right hand to be a Prince and a Saviour, to give repentance to Israel, and remission of sins.

¹⁷ And Ananias departed, and entered into the house, and laying his hands on him said, Brother Saul, the Lord, even Jesus, who appeared unto thee in the way which thou camest, hath sent me, that thou mayest receive thy sight, and be filled with the Holy Spirit. ¹⁸ And straightway there fell from his eyes as it were scales, and he received his sight, and he arose and was baptized,

⁴³ To him bear all the prophets witness, that through his name every one that believeth on him shall receive remission of sins.

³⁸ Be it known unto you therefore, brethren, that through this man is proclaimed unto you remission of sins: ³⁹ and by him every one that believeth is justified from all things, from which ye could not be justified by the law of Moses.

⁴⁷ For so hath the Lord commanded us, saying, I have set thee for a light of the Gentiles, That thou shouldest be for salvation unto the uttermost part of the earth.

⁹ and he made no distinction between us and them, cleansing their hearts by faith.

²¹ testifying both to Jews and to Greeks repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ.

³² And now, brethren, I commend you to God, and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you the inheritance among all them that are sanctified.

²³ how that the Christ must suffer, and how that he first by the resurrection of the dead should proclaim light both to the people and to the Gentiles.

⁶ Even as David also pronounceth blessing upon the man, unto whom God reckoneth righteousness apart from works, ⁷ saying, Blessed are they whose iniquities are forgiven, And whose sins are covered. ⁸ Blessed is the man to whom, the Lord will not reckon sin. ⁹ Is this blessing then pronounced upon the circumcision, or upon the uncircumcision also? for we say, To Abraham his faith was reckoned for righteousness.

¹ Being therefore justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, ² through whom also we have had our access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and we rejoice in hope of the glory of God.

¹⁷ and if children, then heirs, heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ, if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified with him.

² unto the church of God which is at Corinth, even them that are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints, with all that call upon the name of our Lord Jesus Christ in every place, their Lord and ours:

³⁰ But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who was made unto us wisdom from God, and righteousness and sanctification, and redemption:

¹⁰ nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God. ¹¹ And such were some of you; but ye were washed, but ye were sanctified, but ye were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, and in the Spirit of our God.

⁴ in whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of the unbelieving, that the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should not dawn upon them.

⁶ Seeing it is God, that said, Light shall shine out of darkness, who shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

¹⁴ Be not unequally yoked with unbelievers; for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? or what communion hath light with darkness?

²⁰ I have been crucified with Christ, and it is no longer I that live, but Christ living in me; and that life which I now live in the flesh I live in faith, the faith which is in the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself up for me.

² This only would I learn from you. Received ye the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?

¹⁴ that upon the Gentiles might come the blessing of Abraham in Christ Jesus, that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.

⁷ in whom we have our redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace,

¹¹ in him, I say, in whom also we were made a heritage, having been foreordained according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his will,

¹⁴ who is an earnest of our inheritance, unto the redemption of God's own possession, unto the praise of his glory.

¹⁸ having the eyes of your heart enlightened, that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, what are the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints,

⁸ for by grace have ye been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God,

¹⁸ being darkened in their understanding, alienated from the life of God, because of the ignorance that is in them, because of the hardening of their heart,

⁸ For ye were once darkness, but are now light in the Lord; walk as children of light

¹⁴ Wherefore he saith, Awake, thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall shine upon thee.

¹² giving thanks unto the Father, who made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light, ¹³ who delivered us out of the power of darkness, and translated us into the kingdom of the Son of his love, ¹⁴ in whom we have our redemption, the forgiveness of our sins:

⁴ But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief: ⁵ for ye are all sons of light, and sons of the day; we are not of the night, nor of darkness, ⁶ so then let us not sleep, as do the rest, but let us watch and be sober. ⁷ For they that sleep sleep in the night; and they that are drunken are drunken in the night. ⁸ But let us, since we are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love, and for a helmet, the hope of salvation.

²⁶ and they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, having been taken captive by him unto his will.

⁵ not by works done in righteousness, which we did ourselves, but according to his mercy he saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit, ⁶ which he poured out upon us richly, through Jesus Christ our Saviour,

¹⁴ Since then the children are sharers in flesh and blood, he also himself in like manner partook of the same, that through death he might bring to nought him that had the power of death, that is, the devil, ¹⁵ and might deliver all them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.

¹⁵ And for this cause he is the mediator of a new covenant, that a death having taken place for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first covenant, they that have been called may receive the promise of the eternal inheritance.

¹⁰ By which will we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.

¹⁴ For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.

⁶ and without faith it is impossible to be well-pleasing unto him, for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that seek after him.

⁵ Hearken, my beloved brethren, did not God choose the poor of the world to be rich in faith, and heirs of the kingdom which he promised to them that love him?

⁴ unto an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you,

⁹ But ye are an elect race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God's own possession, that ye may show forth the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light:

²⁵ For ye were going astray like sheep, but are now returned unto the Shepherd and Bishop of your souls.

⁹ If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

⁸ Again, a new commandment write I unto you, which thing is true in him and in you, because the darkness is passing away, and the true light already shineth. ⁹ He that saith he is in the light and hateth his brother, is in the darkness even until now.

¹² I write unto you, my little children, because your sins are forgiven you for his name's sake.

⁸ he that doeth sin is of the devil, for the devil sinneth from the beginning. To this end was the Son of God manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.

¹⁹ We know that we are of God, and the whole world lieth in the evil one.

¹ Jude, a servant of Jesus Christ, and brother of James, to them that are called, sanctified by God the Father, and kept for Jesus Christ:

² And he laid hold on the dragon, the old serpent, which is the Devil and Satan, the deceiver of the whole world, and bound him for a thousand years, ³ and cast him into the abyss, and shut it, and sealed it over him, that he should deceive the nations no more, until the thousand years should be finished. And after this he must be loosed for a little time.

²⁷ and there shall in no wise enter into it anything unclean, or any that maketh an abomination and a lie; but only they that are written in the Lamb's book of life.
