¹⁹ Then was Nebuchadnezzar filled with fury, and the form of his visage was changed, against Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed- nego; he spoke, and commanded that they should heat the furnace seven times more than it was wont to be heated.

⁵ but unto Cain and to his offering He had not respect. And Cain was very wroth, and his countenance fell. ⁶ And the LORD said unto Cain: 'Why art thou wroth? and why is thy countenance fallen?

² And Jacob beheld the countenance of Laban, and, behold, it was not toward him as beforetime.

⁹ The enemy said: 'I will pursue, I will overtake, I will divide the spoil; my lust shall be satisfied upon them; I will draw my sword, my hand shall destroy them.' ¹⁰ Thou didst blow with Thy wind, the sea covered them; they sank as lead in the mighty waters.

¹⁸ And if ye will not yet for these things hearken unto Me, then I will chastise you seven times more for your sins.

²¹ And if ye walk contrary unto Me, and will not hearken unto Me; I will bring seven times more plagues upon you according to your sins.

²⁴ then will I also walk contrary unto you; and I will smite you, even I, seven times for your sins.

²⁸ then I will walk contrary unto you in fury; and I also will chastise you seven times for your sins.

³³ And he put the wood in order, and cut the bullock in pieces, and laid it on the wood. ³⁴ And he said: 'Fill four jars with water, and pour it on the burnt-offering, and on the wood.' And he said: 'Do it the second time'; and they did it the second time. And he said: 'Do it the third time'; and they did it the third time. ³⁵ And the water ran round about the altar; and he filled the trench also with water.

¹⁰ And Ben-hadad sent unto him, and said: 'The gods do so unto me, and more also, if the dust of Samaria shall suffice for handfuls for all the people that follow me.' ¹¹ And the king of Israel answered and said: 'Tell him: Let not him that girdeth on his armour boast himself as he that putteth it off.'

²⁷ But I know thy sitting down, and thy going out, and thy coming in, and thy raging against Me. ²⁸ Because of thy raging against Me, and for that thy tumult is come up into Mine ears, therefore will I put My hook in thy nose, and My bridle in thy lips, and I will turn thee back by the way by which thou camest.

⁷ And the king arose in his wrath from the banquet of wine and went into the palace garden; but Haman remained to make request for his life to Esther the queen; for he saw that there was evil determined against him by the king.

¹⁰ (76:11) Surely the wrath of man shall praise Thee; the residue of wrath shalt Thou gird upon Thee.

¹⁴ The wrath of a king is as messengers of death; but a wise man will pacify it.

²⁴ A proud and haughty man, scorner is his name, even he that dealeth in overbearing pride.

⁶ Then the king's countenance was changed in him, and his thoughts affrighted him; and the joints of his loins were loosed, and his knees smote one against another.

²⁴ (6:25) And the king commanded, and they brought those men that had accused Daniel, and they cast them into the den of lions, them, their children, and their wives; and they had not come to the bottom of the den, when the lions had the mastery of them, and broke all their bones in pieces.

⁶³ saying, Sir, we remember that that deceiver said while he was yet alive, After three days I rise again. ⁶⁴ Command therefore that the sepulchre be made sure until the third day, lest haply his disciples come by night and steal him away, and say unto the people, He is risen from the dead; and the last error will be worse than the first. ⁶⁵ And Pilate said unto them, Ye have a guard; go, make it as sure as ye can. ⁶⁶ So they went, and made the sepulchre sure, sealing the stone, the guard being with them.

⁴ And I say unto you my friends, Be not afraid of them that kill the body, and after that have no more that they can do. ⁵ But I will warn you whom ye shall fear; Fear him, who after he hath killed hath power to cast into hell, yea, I say unto you, Fear him.

³³ But they, when they heard this, were cut to the heart, and took counsel to slay them.

⁵⁴ Now when they heard these things, they were cut to the heart, and they gnashed on him with their teeth.
