³⁰ How weak is thy heart, saith the Lord GOD, seeing thou doest all these things, the work of a wanton harlot;

¹⁵ And she said unto him: 'How canst thou say: I love thee, when thy heart is not with me? thou hast mocked me these three times, and hast not told me wherein thy great strength lieth.' ¹⁶ And it came to pass, when she pressed him daily with her words, and urged him, that his soul was vexed unto death.

¹¹ She is riotous and rebellious, her feet abide not in her house; ¹² Now she is in the streets, now in the broad places, and lieth in wait at every corner. ¹³ So she caught him, and kissed him, and with an impudent face she said unto him:

²¹ With her much fair speech she causeth him to yield, with the blandishment of her lips she enticeth him away.

¹³ The woman Folly is riotous; she is thoughtless, and knoweth nothing.

³ The ox knoweth his owner, and the ass his master's crib; but Israel doth not know, My people doth not consider.

⁹ The show of their countenance doth witness against them; and they declare their sin as Sodom, they hide it not. Woe unto their soul! for they have wrought evil unto themselves.

¹² Be astonished, O ye heavens, at this, and be horribly afraid, be ye exceeding amazed, saith the LORD. ¹³ For My people have committed two evils: they have forsaken Me, the fountain of living waters, and hewed them out cisterns, broken cisterns, that can hold no water.

³ Therefore the showers have been withheld, and there hath been no latter rain; yet thou hadst a harlot's forehead, thou refusedst to be ashamed.

²² For My people is foolish, they know Me not; they are sottish children, and they have no understanding; they are wise to do evil, but to do good they have no knowledge.

¹ And there came one of the seven angels that had the seven bowls, and spake with me, saying, Come hither, I will show thee the judgment of the great harlot that sitteth upon the many waters, ² with whom the kings of the earth committed fornication, and they that dwell in the earth were made drunken with the wine of her fornication. ³ And he carried me away in the Spirit into a wilderness; and I saw a woman sitting upon a scarlet-colored beast, full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns. ⁴ And the woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet, decked with gold and precious stone and pearls, having in her hand a golden cup full of abominations, even the unclean things of her fornication, ⁵ and upon her forehead a name written, MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF THE HARLOTS AND OF THE ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH. ⁶ And I saw the woman drunken with the blood of the saints, even with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus. And when I saw her, I wondered with a great wonder.
