¹⁶ And the first came before him, saying, Lord, thy pound hath made ten pounds more. ¹⁷ And he said unto him, Well done, thou good servant; because thou wast found faithful in a very little, have thou authority over ten cities. ¹⁸ And the second came, saying, Thy pound, Lord, hath made five pounds. ¹⁹ And he said unto him also, Be thou also over five cities.

⁴² saying, If thou hadst known, even thou, at least in this thy day, the things which belong unto thy peace! but now they are hid from thine eyes.

³⁵ for so shall it come upon all them that dwell on the face of all the earth. ³⁶ But watch ye at every season, making supplication, that ye may be counted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.

¹⁴ And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us (and we beheld his glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father), full of grace and truth. ¹⁵ John beareth witness of him, and crieth, saying, This was he of whom I said, He that cometh after me is become before me; for he was before me. ¹⁶ And of his fullness we all received, and grace for grace.

⁷ And he took him by the right hand, and raised him up; and immediately his feet and his ankle-bones received strength.

¹² And when Peter saw it, he answered unto the people, Ye men of Israel, why marvel ye at this man? or why fasten ye your eyes on us, as though by our own power or godliness we had made him to walk?

³ Look ye out therefore, brethren, from among you seven men of good report, full of the Holy Spirit and of wisdom, whom we may appoint over this business.

¹⁰ and delivered him out of all his afflictions, and gave him favor and wisdom before Pharaoh king of Egypt, and he made him governor over Egypt and all his house. ¹¹ Now there came a famine over all the land of Egypt and Canaan, and great affliction; and our fathers found no sustenance.

²² And Moses was instructed in all the wisdom of the Egyptians, and he was mighty in words and works.

²⁸ And there stood up one of them named Agabus, and signified by the Spirit that there should be a great famine over all the world; which came to pass in the days of Claudius Caesar.

¹⁴ But when the apostles, Barnabas and Paul, heard of it, they rent their garments, and sprang forth among the multitude, crying out ¹⁵ and saying, Sirs, why do ye these things? We also are men of like passions with you, and bring you good tidings, that ye should turn from these vain things unto a living God, who made the heaven and the earth and the sea, and all that in them is:

¹⁸ And certain also of the Epicurean and Stoic philosophers encountered him. And some said, What would this babbler say? others, He seemeth to be a setter forth of strange gods; because he preached Jesus and the resurrection.

²⁶ and he made of one blood every nation of men to dwell on all the face of the earth, having determined their appointed seasons, and the bounds of their habitation,

¹⁹ For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, And the discernment of the discerning will I bring to nought.

⁹ but as it is written, Things which eye saw not, and ear heard not, And which entered not into the heart of man, Whatsoever things God prepared for them that love him.

¹⁸ Let no man deceive himself. If any man thinketh that he is wise among you in this world, let him become a fool, that he may become wise. ¹⁹ For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, He that taketh the wise in their craftiness: ²⁰ and again, The Lord knoweth the reasonings of the wise that they are vain.

⁴ and did all drink the same spiritual drink; for they drank of a spiritual rock that followed them; and the rock was Christ.

¹⁰ But by the grace of God I am what I am; and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not found vain, but I labored more abundantly than they all; yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me.

⁵ not that we are sufficient of ourselves, to account anything as from ourselves, but our sufficiency is from God,

¹ This is the third time I am coming to you. At the mouth of two witnesses or three shall every word be established.

¹⁷ that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you a spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him,

⁹ Wherefore also God highly exalted him, and gave unto him the name which is above every name, ¹⁰ that in the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven and things on earth and things under the earth,

¹⁰ that in the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven and things on earth and things under the earth, ¹¹ and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

¹⁹ And my God shall supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus.

¹⁹ For it was the good pleasure of the Father that in him should all the fullness dwell,

¹⁷ Elijah was a man of like passions with us, and he prayed fervently that it might not rain, and it rained not on the earth for three years and six months.

⁷ For there are three who bear witness,

²⁴ Now unto him that is able to guard them from stumbling, and to set you before the presence of his glory without blemish in exceeding joy,

¹ After these things I saw, and behold, a door opened in heaven, and the first voice that I heard, a voice as of a trumpet speaking with me, one saying, Come up hither, and I will show thee the things which must come to pass hereafter.

¹⁵ And the four angels were loosed, that had been prepared for the hour and for the day and month and year, that they should kill the third part of men.

⁹ And I went unto the angel, telling him that he should give me the little book. And he saith unto me, Take it, and eat it up, and it shall make thy belly bitter, but in thy mouth it shall be sweet as honey. ¹⁰ And I took the book out of the angel's hand, and ate it up, and it was in my mouth sweet as honey; and when I had eaten it, my belly was made bitter.
