¹² And God saw the earth, and, behold, it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted their way upon the earth.

⁴ The Nephilim were in the earth in those days, and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bore children to them; the same were the mighty men that were of old, the men of renown. ⁵ And the LORD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.

⁸ But Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD.

¹ And the LORD said unto Noah: 'Come thou and all thy house into the ark; for thee have I seen righteous before Me in this generation.

²¹ And all flesh perished that moved upon the earth, both fowl, and cattle, and beast, and every swarming thing that swarmeth upon the earth, and every man;

¹² And God said: 'This is the token of the covenant which I make between Me and you and every living creature that is with you, for perpetual generations:

¹⁶ And the bow shall be in the cloud; and I will look upon it, that I may remember the everlasting covenant between God and every living creature of all flesh that is upon the earth.' ¹⁷ And God said unto Noah: 'This is the token of the covenant which I have established between Me and all flesh that is upon the earth.'

²¹ I will go down now, and see whether they have done altogether according to the cry of it, which is come unto Me; and if not, I will know.'

¹⁵ Wilt thou keep the old way which wicked men have trodden? ¹⁶ Who were snatched away before their time, whose foundation was poured out as a stream; ¹⁷ Who said unto God: 'Depart from us'; and what could the Almighty do unto them?

²⁷ He cometh before men, and saith: 'I have sinned, and perverted that which was right, and it profited me not.'

¹ For the Leader. A Psalm of David. The fool hath said in his heart: 'There is no God'; they have dealt corruptly, they have done abominably; there is none that doeth good. ² The LORD looked forth from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any man of understanding, that did seek after God. ³ They are all corrupt, they are together become impure; there is none that doeth good, no, not one.

¹³ The LORD looketh from heaven; He beholdeth all the sons of men; ¹⁴ From the place of His habitation He looketh intently upon all the inhabitants of the earth;

² (53:3) God looked forth from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any man of understanding, that did seek after God. ³ (53:4) Every one of them is unclean, they are together become impure; there is none that doeth good, no, not one.

³ The eyes of the LORD are in every place, keeping watch upon the evil and the good.

⁶ And all flesh shall see the salvation of God.

¹⁹ in which also he went and preached unto the spirits in prison, ²⁰ that aforetime were disobedient, when the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls, were saved through water:
