²⁴ But Jesus did not trust himself unto them, for that he knew all men,

⁷ But the LORD said unto Samuel: 'Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have rejected him; for it is not as man seeth: for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the LORD looketh on the heart.'

⁹ And thou, Solomon my son, know thou the God of thy father, and serve Him with a whole heart and with a willing mind; for the LORD searcheth all hearts, and understandeth all the imaginations of the thoughts; if thou seek Him, He will be found of thee; but if thou forsake Him, He will cast thee off for ever.

¹⁷ I know also, my God, that Thou triest the heart, and hast pleasure in uprightness. As for me, in the uprightness of my heart I have willingly offered all these things; and now have I seen with joy Thy people, that are present here, offer willingly unto Thee.

⁹ The heart is deceitful above all things, and it is exceeding weak - who can know it?

⁴ And Jesus knowing their thoughts said, Wherefore think ye evil in your hearts?

¹⁶ Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves; be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves. ¹⁷ But beware of men; for they will deliver you up to councils, and in theirs synagogues they will scourge you,

⁸ And straightway Jesus, perceiving in his spirit that they so reasoned within themselves, said unto them, Why reason ye these things in your hearts?

⁴² He brought him unto Jesus. Jesus looked upon him, and said, Thou art Simon the son of Jonah; thou shalt be called Cephas (which is by interpretation, Peter).

⁴⁶ And Nathanael said unto him, Can any good thing come out of Nazareth? Philip saith unto him, Come and see. ⁴⁷ Jesus saw Nathanael coming to him, and saith of him, Behold, an Israelite indeed, in whom is no guile!

⁴² But I know you, that ye have not the love of God in yourselves.

¹⁵ Jesus therefore perceiving that they were about to come and take him by force, to make him king, withdrew into the mountain himself alone.

⁶⁴ But there are some of you that believe not. For Jesus knew from the beginning who they were that believed not, and who it was that should betray him.

³⁰ Now know we that thou knowest all things, and needest not that any man should ask thee; by this we believe that thou camest forth from God.

¹⁷ He saith unto him the third time, Simon, son of Jonah, lovest thou me? Peter was grieved because he said unto him the third time, Lovest thou me? And he said unto him, Lord, thou knowest all things, thou knowest that I love thee. Jesus saith unto him, Feed my sheep.

²⁴ And they prayed, and said, Thou, Lord, who knowest the hearts of all men, show of these two the one whom thou hast chosen,

¹³ And there is no creature that is not manifest in his sight; but all things are naked and laid open before the eyes of him with whom we have to do.

²³ And I will kill her children with death, and all the churches shall know that I am he that searcheth the reins and hearts; and I will give unto each one of you according to your works.
