¹⁷ And he shall rend it by the wings thereof, but shall not divide it asunder; and the priest shall make it smoke upon the altar, upon the wood that is upon the fire; it is a burnt-offering, an offering made by fire, of a sweet savour unto the LORD.

²¹ And the LORD smelled the sweet savour; and the LORD said in His heart: 'I will not again curse the ground any more for man's sake; for the imagination of man's heart is evil from his youth; neither will I again smite any more every thing living, as I have done.

¹⁰ And he took him all these, and divided them in the midst, and laid each half over against the other; but the birds divided he not.

⁹ but its inwards and its legs shall he wash with water; and the priest shall make the whole smoke on the altar, for a burnt- offering, an offering made by fire, of a sweet savour unto the LORD. ¹⁰ And if his offering be of the flock, whether of the sheep, or of the goats, for a burnt-offering, he shall offer it a male without blemish.

¹³ But the inwards and the legs shall he wash with water; and the priest shall offer the whole, and make it smoke upon the altar; it is a burnt-offering, an offering made by fire, of a sweet savour unto the LORD.

⁸ And he shall bring them unto the priest, who shall offer that which is for the sin-offering first, and pinch off its head close by its neck, but shall not divide it asunder.

¹⁰ For Thou wilt not abandon my soul to the nether-world; neither wilt Thou suffer Thy godly one to see the pit.

⁵⁰ And Jesus cried again with a loud voice, and yielded up his spirit.

⁶ In whole burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin thou hadst no pleasure: ⁷ Then said I, Lo, I am come (In the roll of the book it is written of me) To do thy will, O God. ⁸ Saying above, Sacrifices and offerings and whole burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin thou wouldest not, neither hadst pleasure therein (the which are offered according to the law), ⁹ then hath he said, Lo, I am come to do thy will, O God. He taketh away the first, that he may establish the second. ¹⁰ By which will we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. ¹¹ And every priest indeed standeth day by day ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices, the which can never take away sins: ¹² but he, when he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God,

¹⁵ Through him then let us offer up a sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of lips which make confession to his name. ¹⁶ But to do good and to communicate forget not; for with such sacrifices God is well pleased.

¹⁹ but with precious blood, as of a lamb without spot, even the blood of Christ: ²⁰ who was foreknown indeed before the foundation of the world, but was manifested at the end of times for your sake, ²¹ who through him believe in God, that raised him from the dead, and gave him glory, so that your faith and hope might be in God.

¹⁸ Because Christ also suffered for sins once, the righteous for the unrighteous, that he might bring you to God, being put to death in the flesh, but made alive in the spirit,
