¹³ If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?

⁵ And the LORD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. ⁶ And it repented the LORD that He had made man on the earth, and it grieved Him at His heart.

²¹ And the LORD smelled the sweet savour; and the LORD said in His heart: 'I will not again curse the ground any more for man's sake; for the imagination of man's heart is evil from his youth; neither will I again smite any more every thing living, as I have done.

¹⁴ What is man, that he should be clean? And he that is born of a woman, that he should be righteous? ¹⁵ Behold, He putteth no trust in His holy ones; yea, the heavens are not clean in His sight. ¹⁶ How much less one that is abominable and impure, man who drinketh iniquity like water!

⁵ (51:7) Behold, I was brought forth in iniquity, and in sin did my mother conceive me.

²³ Turn you at my reproof; behold, I will pour out my spirit unto you, I will make known my words unto you.

³ For I will pour water upon the thirsty land, and streams upon the dry ground; I will pour My spirit upon thy seed, and My blessing upon thine offspring; ⁴ And they shall spring up among the grass, as willows by the watercourses.

¹⁵ Can a woman forget her sucking child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? Yea, these may forget, yet will not I forget thee.

²⁷ And I will put My spirit within you, and cause you to walk in My statutes, and ye shall keep Mine ordinances, and do them.

²⁸ (3:1) And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out My spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions;

¹⁶ Even so let your light shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven.

⁴⁵ that ye may be sons of your Father who is in heaven; for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sendeth rain on the just and the unjust.

¹⁴ For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.

³⁰ But if God doth so clothe the grass of the field, which to-day is, and to-morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith?

³² For after all these things do the Gentiles seek, for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.

² And he said unto them, When ye pray, say, Our Father who art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, as in heaven, so on earth.

³⁰ but when this thy son came, who hath devoured thy living with harlots, thou killedst for him the fatted calf. ³¹ And he said unto him, Son, thou art ever with me, and all that is mine is thine. ³² But it was meet to make merry and be glad; for this thy brother was dead, and is alive again, and was lost, and is found.

⁵ Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except one be born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God! ⁶ That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

¹⁰ Jesus answered and said unto unto her, If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink, thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water.

³⁷ Now on the last day, the great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me and drink. ³⁸ He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, from within him shall flow rivers of living water. ³⁹ But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believed on him were to receive; for the Holy Spirit was not yet given, because Jesus was not yet glorified.

³⁸ And Peter said unto them, Repent ye, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ unto the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

⁹ Much more then, being now justified by his blood, shall we be saved from the wrath of God through him. ¹⁰ For if, while we were enemies, we were reconciled to God through the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, shall we be saved by his life,

¹⁷ For if, by the trespass of the one, death reigned through the one, much more shall they that receive the abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness reign in life through the one, even Jesus Christ.

¹⁸ For I know that in me, that is, in my flesh, dwelleth no good thing; for to will is present with me, but {\i how to do that which is good I find not.

³² He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not also with him freely give us all things?

⁹ For if the ministration of condemnation hath glory, much rather doth the ministration of righteousness exceed in glory. ¹⁰ For verily that which hath been made glorious hath not been made glorious in this respect, by reason of the glory that surpasseth. ¹¹ For if that which passeth away was with glory, much more that which remaineth is in glory.

³ For we also once were foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving diverse lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, hating one another.

⁹ Furthermore, we had the fathers of our flesh to chasten us, and we gave them reverence; shall we not much rather be in subjection unto the Father of spirits, and live? ¹⁰ For they indeed for a few days chastened us as seemed good to them, but he for our profit, that we may be partakers of his holiness.
