² And they found the stone rolled away from the tomb.

⁶⁰ and laid it in his own new tomb, which he had hewn out in the rock; and he rolled a great stone to the door of the tomb, and departed. ⁶¹ And Mary Magdalene was there, and the other Mary, sitting over against the sepulchre. ⁶² Now on the morrow, which is the day after the Preparation, the chief priests and the Pharisees were gathered together unto Pilate, ⁶³ saying, Sir, we remember that that deceiver said while he was yet alive, After three days I rise again. ⁶⁴ Command therefore that the sepulchre be made sure until the third day, lest haply his disciples come by night and steal him away, and say unto the people, He is risen from the dead; and the last error will be worse than the first. ⁶⁵ And Pilate said unto them, Ye have a guard; go, make it as sure as ye can. ⁶⁶ So they went, and made the sepulchre sure, sealing the stone, the guard being with them.

² And behold, there was a great earthquake, for an angel of the Lord descending from heaven, came and rolled away the stone from the door, and sat upon it.

⁴⁶ And he bought a linen cloth, and taking him down, wound him in the linen cloth, and laid him in a tomb which had been hewn out of a rock, and he rolled a stone against the door of the tomb. ⁴⁷ And Mary Magdalene and Mary the mother of Joses beheld where he was laid.

³ And they were saying among themselves, Who shall roll us away the stone from the door of the tomb? ⁴ and looking up, they see that the stone is rolled back; for it was exceeding great.

¹ Now on the first day of the week cometh Mary Magdalene early, while it was yet dark, unto the tomb, and seeth the stone taken away from the tomb. ² She runneth therefore, and cometh to Simon Peter, and to the other disciple whom Jesus loved, and saith unto them, They have taken away the Lord out of the tomb, and we know not where they have laid him.
