¹⁷ Let not thy heart envy sinners, but be in the fear of the LORD all the day;

¹ A Psalm of David. Fret not thyself because of evil-doers, neither be thou envious against them that work unrighteousness. ² For they shall soon wither like the grass, and fade as the green herb. ³ Trust in the LORD, and do good; dwell in the land, and cherish faithfulness.

³ For I was envious at the arrogant, when I saw the prosperity of the wicked. ⁴ For there are no pangs at their death, and their body is sound. ⁵ In the trouble of man they are not; neither are they plagued like men. ⁶ Therefore pride is as a chain about their neck; violence covereth them as a garment. ⁷ Their eyes stand forth from fatness; they are gone beyond the imaginations of their heart.

¹⁰ The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom; a good understanding have all they that do thereafter; His praise endureth for ever.

³¹ Envy thou not the man of violence, and choose none of his ways.

¹⁶ Better is little with the fear of the LORD, than great treasure and turmoil therewith.

¹ Be not thou envious of evil men, neither desire to be with them.

¹⁴ Happy is the man that feareth alway; but he that hardeneth his heart shall fall into evil.

⁷ (5:6) For through the multitude of dreams and vanities there are also many words; but fear thou God.

¹³ The end of the matter, all having been heard: fear God, and keep His commandments; for this is the whole man. ¹⁴ For God shall bring every work into the judgment concerning every hidden thing, whether it be good or whether it be evil.

³¹ So the churches throughout all Judea and Galilee and Samaria had peace, being edified, and, walking in the fear of the Lord and in the comfort of the Holy Spirit, was multiplied.

¹ Having therefore these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all defilement of flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.
