⁴ Weary not thyself to be rich; cease from thine own wisdom.

⁵ Trust in the LORD with all thy heart, and lean not upon thine own understanding.

⁷ Be not wise in thine own eyes; fear the LORD, and depart from evil;

²⁷ He that is greedy of gain troubleth his own house; but he that hateth gifts shall live.

¹² Seest thou a man wise in his own eyes? there is more hope of a fool than of him.

¹⁶ Be of the same mind one toward another. Set not your mind on high things, but condescend to things that are lowly. Be not wise in your own conceits.

⁸ but having food and covering we shall be therewith content. ⁹ But they that are minded to be rich fall into a temptation and a snare and many foolish and hurtful lusts, such as drown men in destruction and perdition. ¹⁰ For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil; which some reaching after have been led astray from the faith, and have pierced themselves through with many sorrows.

⁵ Be ye free from the love of money, content with such things as ye have; for himself hath said, I will in no wise fail thee, neither will I in any wise forsake thee.
