⁵ (22:6) Unto Thee they cried, and escaped; in Thee did they trust, and were not ashamed.

³ And the children of Israel cried unto the LORD; for he had nine hundred chariots of iron; and twenty years he mightily oppressed the children of Israel.

⁶ And Israel was brought very low because of Midian; and the children of Israel cried unto the LORD.

¹⁰ And the children of Israel cried unto the LORD, saying: 'We have sinned against Thee, in that we have forsaken our God, and have served the Baalim.' ¹¹ And the LORD said unto the children of Israel: 'Did not I save you from the Egyptians, and from the Amorites, from the children of Ammon, and from the Philistines? ¹² The Zidonians also, and the Amalekites, and the Maonites, did oppress you; and ye cried unto Me, and I saved you out of their hand. ¹³ Yet ye have forsaken Me, and served other gods; wherefore I will save you no more. ¹⁴ Go and cry unto the gods which ye have chosen; let them save you in the time of your distress.' ¹⁵ And the children of Israel said unto the LORD: 'We have sinned; do Thou unto us whatsoever seemeth good unto Thee; only deliver us, we pray Thee, this day.' ¹⁶ And they put away the strange gods from among them, and served the LORD; and His soul was grieved for the misery of Israel.

² O my God, in Thee have I trusted, let me not be ashamed; let not mine enemies triumph over me. ³ Yea, none that wait for Thee shall be ashamed; they shall be ashamed that deal treacherously without cause.

¹ (31:1) For the Leader. A Psalm of David. (31:2) In thee, O LORD, have I taken refuge; let me never be ashamed; deliver me in Thy righteousness.

⁶ (69:7) Let not them that wait for Thee be ashamed through me, O Lord GOD of hosts; let not those that seek Thee be brought to confusion through me, O God of Israel. ⁷ (69:8) Because for Thy sake I have borne reproach; confusion hath covered my face.

⁶ Moses and Aaron among His priests, and Samuel among them that call upon His name, did call upon the LORD, and He answered them. ⁷ He spoke unto them in the pillar of cloud; they kept His testimonies, and the statute that He gave them.

⁴⁴ Nevertheless He looked upon their distress, when He heard their cry;

¹⁷ O Israel, that art saved by the LORD with an everlasting salvation; ye shall not be ashamed nor confounded world without end.

²³ And kings shall be thy foster-fathers, and their queens thy nursing mothers; they shall bow down to thee with their face to the earth, and lick the dust of thy feet; and thou shalt know that I am the LORD, for they shall not be ashamed that wait for Me.

³³ even as it is written, Behold, I lay in Zion a stone of stumbling and a rock of offense; And he that believeth on him shall not be put to shame.

¹¹ For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be put to shame.

⁶ Because it is contained in the scripture, Behold, I lay in Zion a chief corner stone, elect, precious; And he that believeth on him shall not be put to shame.
