⁷ That they might put their confidence in God, and not forget the works of God, but keep His commandments;

²⁴ And ye shall observe this thing for an ordinance to thee and to thy sons for ever. ²⁵ And it shall come to pass, when ye be come to the land which the LORD will give you, according as He hath promised, that ye shall keep this service. ²⁶ And it shall come to pass, when your children shall say unto you: What mean ye by this service? ²⁷ that ye shall say: It is the sacrifice of the LORD'S passover, for that He passed over the houses of the children of Israel in Egypt, when He smote the Egyptians, and delivered our houses.' And the people bowed the head and worshipped.

⁹ Only take heed to thyself, and keep thy soul diligently, lest thou forget the things which thine eyes saw, and lest they depart from thy heart all the days of thy life; but make them known unto thy children and thy children's children;

²⁹ (5:26) Oh that they had such a heart as this alway, to fear Me, and keep all My commandments, that it might be well with them, and with their children for ever!

¹² then beware lest thou forget the LORD, who brought thee forth out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.

¹⁸ thou shalt not be afraid of them; thou shalt well remember what the LORD thy God did unto Pharaoh, and unto all Egypt: ¹⁹ the great trials which thine eyes saw, and the signs, and the wonders, and the mighty hand, and the outstretched arm, whereby the LORD thy God brought thee out; so shall the LORD thy God do unto all the peoples of whom thou art afraid.

² And thou shalt remember all the way which the LORD thy God hath led thee these forty years in the wilderness, that He might afflict thee, to prove thee, to know what was in thy heart, whether thou wouldest keep His commandments, or no.

¹¹ Beware lest thou forget the LORD thy God, in not keeping His commandments, and His ordinances, and His statutes, which I command thee this day;

²⁷ the Jews ordained, and took upon them, and upon their seed, and upon all such as joined themselves unto them, so as it should not fail, that they would keep these two days according to the writing thereof, and according to the appointed time thereof, every year; ²⁸ and that these days should be remembered and kept throughout every generation, every family, every province, and every city; and that these days of Purim should not fail from among the Jews, nor the memorial of them perish from their seed.

⁴ (40:5) Happy is the man that hath made the LORD his trust, and hath not turned unto the arrogant, nor unto such as fall away treacherously.

⁵ (62:6) Only for God wait thou in stillness, my soul; for from Him cometh my hope.

¹⁰ (77:11) And I say: 'This is my weakness, that the right hand of the Most High could change. ¹¹ (77:12) I will make mention of the deeds of the LORD; yea, I will remember Thy wonders of old. ¹² (77:13) I will meditate also upon all Thy work, and muse on Thy doings.'

¹⁴ 'Because he hath set his love upon Me, therefore will I deliver him; I will set him on high, because he hath known My name.

² Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits;

⁵ Remember His marvellous works that He hath done, His wonders, and the judgments of His mouth;

⁶ My soul waiteth for the Lord, more than watchmen for the morning; yea, more than watchmen for the morning. ⁷ O Israel, hope in the LORD; for with the LORD there is mercy, and with Him is plenteous redemption.

⁵ Happy is he whose help is the God of Jacob, whose hope is in the LORD his God,

⁷ Blessed is the man that trusteth in the LORD, and whose trust the LORD is. ⁸ For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out its roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but its foliage shall be luxuriant; and shall not be anxious in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit.

²¹ He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me; and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself unto him. ²² Judas (not Iscariot) saith unto him, Lord, what is come to pass that thou wilt manifest thyself unto us, and not unto the world? ²³ Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my word; and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him. ²⁴ He that loveth me not keepeth not my words; and the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father's who sent me.

²⁴ and when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, Take, eat; this is my body, which is broken for you; this do in remembrance of me.

²¹ who through him believe in God, that raised him from the dead, and gave him glory, so that your faith and hope might be in God.

²² and whatsoever we ask we receive of him, because we keep his commandments and do the things that are pleasing in his sight. ²³ And this is his commandment, that we should believe in the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, even as he gave commandment. ²⁴ And he that keepeth his commandments abideth in him, and he in him. And hereby we know that he abideth in us, by the Spirit which he gave us.

³ For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments; and his commandments are not grievous.
