¹⁶ And God made the two great lights: the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night; and the stars. ¹⁷ And God set them in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth, ¹⁸ and to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness; and God saw that it was good.

And it was so. ²⁵ And God made the beast of the earth after its kind, and the cattle after their kind, and every thing that creepeth upon the ground after its kind; and God saw that it was good. ²⁶ And God said: 'Let us make man in our image, after our likeness; and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.'

¹¹ Who is like unto Thee, O LORD, among the mighty? who is like unto Thee, glorious in holiness, fearful in praises, doing wonders?

¹⁶ Terror and dread falleth upon them; by the greatness of Thine arm they are as still as a stone; till Thy people pass over, O LORD, till the people pass over that Thou hast gotten.

¹⁸ And He gave unto Moses, when He had made an end of speaking with him upon mount Sinai, the two tables of the testimony, tables of stone, written with the finger of God.

⁵ And the LORD descended in the cloud, and stood with him there, and proclaimed the name of the LORD. ⁶ And the LORD passed by before him, and proclaimed: 'The LORD, the LORD, God, merciful and gracious, long-suffering, and abundant in goodness and truth; ⁷ keeping mercy unto the thousandth generation, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin; and that will by no means clear the guilty; visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children, and upon the children's children, unto the third and unto the fourth generation.'

⁷ Canst thou find out the deep things of God? Canst thou attain unto the purpose of the Almighty?

¹² Is not God in the height of heaven? And behold the topmost of the stars, how high they are!

³ Is there any number of His armies? And upon whom doth not His light arise?

⁵ Behold, even the moon hath no brightness, and the stars are not pure in His sight; ⁶ How much less man, that is a worm! and the son of man, that is a maggot!

²⁴ Remember that thou magnify His work, whereof men have sung.

³⁹ Wilt thou hunt the prey for the lioness? Or satisfy the appetite of the young lions,
