⁴ These are the two olive trees and the two candlesticks, standing before the Lord of the earth.

²² (8:18) And I will set apart in that day the land of Goshen, in which My people dwell, that no swarms of flies shall be there; to the end that thou mayest know that I am the LORD in the midst of the earth.

⁸ At that time the LORD separated the tribe of Levi, to bear the ark of the covenant of the LORD, to stand before the LORD to minister unto Him, and to bless in His name, unto this day.

¹ And Elijah the Tishbite, who was of the settlers of Gilead, said unto Ahab: 'As the LORD, the God of Israel, liveth, before whom I stand, there shall not be dew nor rain these years, but according to my word.'

⁸ (52:10) But as for me, I am like a leafy olive-tree in the house of God; I trust in the mercy of God for ever and ever.

⁵ For thy Maker is thy husband, the LORD of hosts is His name; and the Holy One of Israel is thy Redeemer, the God of the whole earth shall He be called.

¹⁶ The LORD called thy name a leafy olive-tree, fair with goodly fruit; with the noise of a great tumult He hath kindled fire upon it, and the branches of it are broken.

¹³ Arise and thresh, O daughter of Zion; for I will make thy horn iron, and I will make thy hoofs brass; and thou shalt beat in pieces many peoples; and thou shalt devote their gain unto the LORD, and their substance unto the Lord of the whole earth.

² And he said unto me: 'What seest thou?' And I said: 'I have seen, and behold a candlestick all of gold, with a bowl upon the top of it, and its seven lamps thereon; there are seven pipes, yea, seven, to the lamps, which are upon the top thereof; ³ and two olive-trees by it, one upon the right side of the bowl, and the other upon the left side thereof.'

¹¹ Then answered I, and said unto him: 'What are these two olive-trees upon the right side of the candlestick and upon the left side thereof?' ¹² And I answered the second time, and said unto him: 'What are these two olive branches, which are beside the two golden spouts, that empty the golden oil out of themselves?' ¹³ And he answered me and said: 'Knowest thou not what these are?' And I said: 'No, my lord.' ¹⁴ Then said he: 'These are the two anointed ones, that stand by the Lord of the whole earth.'

¹⁴ Ye are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hid. ¹⁵ Neither do men light a lamp, and put it under the bushel, but on the stand, and it shineth unto all that are in the house. ¹⁶ Even so let your light shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven.

³³ No man, when he hath lighted a lamp, putteth it in a cellar, neither under the bushel, but on the stand, that they which enter in may see the light.

¹⁷ But if some of the branches were broken off, and thou, being a wild olive, wast grafted in among them, and didst become partaker with them of the root and fatness of the olive tree,

²⁰ the mystery of the seven stars which thou sawest in my right hand, and the seven golden candlesticks. The seven stars are the angels of the seven churches; and the seven candlesticks are seven churches.
