¹⁴ However, because by this deed you have given great occasion to the enemies of the LORD to blaspheme, the child also that is born unto you shall surely die.

⁹ Also I said, It is not good what you do: ought you not to walk in the fear of our God because of the reproach of the nations our enemies?

¹⁰ O God, how long shall the adversary reproach? shall the enemy blaspheme your name forever?

³¹ If they break my statutes, and keep not my commandments; ³² Then will I visit their transgression with the rod, and their iniquity with stripes. ³³ Nevertheless my lovingkindness will I not utterly take from him, nor allow my faithfulness to fail.

¹² Blessed is the man whom you chasten, O LORD, and teach him out of your law;

¹¹ My son, despise not the chastening of the LORD; neither be weary of his correction: ¹² For whom the LORD loves he corrects; even as a father the son in whom he delights.

⁵ Now therefore, what have I here, says the LORD, that my people are taken away for nothing? they that rule over them make them to wail, says the LORD; and my name continually every day is blasphemed.

²⁰ And when they entered unto the nations, where they went, they profaned my holy name, when they said to them, These are the people of the LORD, and have gone forth out of his land. ²¹ But I had pity because of my holy name, which the house of Israel had profaned among the nations, where they went. ²² Therefore say unto the house of Israel, Thus says the Lord GOD; I do this not for your sakes, O house of Israel, but for my holy name’s sake, which you have profaned among the nations, where you went. ²³ And I will sanctify my great name, which was profaned among the nations, which you have profaned in the midst of them; and the nations shall know that I am the LORD, says the Lord GOD, when I shall be sanctified in you before their eyes.

² You only have I known of all the families of the earth: therefore I will punish you for all your iniquities.

⁷ Woe unto the world because of offenses! for it must needs be that offenses come; but woe to that man by whom the offense comes!

²⁴ For the name of God is blasphemed among the Gentiles through you, as it is written.

³² But when we are judged, we are chastened of the Lord, that we should not be condemned with the world.

⁶ For whom the Lord loves he chastens, and scourges every son whom he receives.

¹⁹ As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.
