² He said unto them, Received you the Holy Spirit when you believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Spirit.

⁷ Now Samuel did not yet know the LORD, neither was the word of the LORD yet revealed unto him.

³⁹ (But this spoke he of the Spirit, whom they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Spirit was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.)

¹⁷ And it shall come to pass in the last days, says God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams:

³⁸ Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. ³⁹ For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.

¹⁵ Who, when they were come down, prayed for them, that they might receive the Holy Spirit: ¹⁶ (For as yet he was fallen upon none of them: only they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.) ¹⁷ Then laid they their hands on them, and they received the Holy Spirit.

⁴⁴ While Peter yet spoke these words, the Holy Spirit fell on all them who heard the word.

¹⁵ And as I began to speak, the Holy Spirit fell on them, as on us at the beginning. ¹⁶ Then remembered I the word of the Lord, how he said, John indeed baptized with water; but you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit. ¹⁷ If then God gave them the same gift as he did unto us, who believed on the Lord Jesus Christ; who was I, that I could withstand God?

⁵ When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.

¹¹ For I long to see you, that I may impart unto you some spiritual gift, to the end you may be established;

¹⁹ What? know you not that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have of God, and you are not your own?

¹ Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I would not have you ignorant. ² You know that you were Gentiles, carried away unto these dumb idols, even as you were led. ³ Therefore I give you to understand, that no man speaking by the Spirit of God calls Jesus accursed: and that no man can say that Jesus is the Lord, but by the Holy Spirit. ⁴ Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. ⁵ And there are differences of ministries, but the same Lord. ⁶ And there are diversities of workings, but it is the same God who works all in all. ⁷ But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man for profit. ⁸ For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit; ⁹ To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit; ¹⁰ To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another various kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues: ¹¹ But in all these works that one and same Spirit, dividing to every man individually as he will.

⁵ He therefore that ministers to you the Spirit, and works miracles among you, does he it by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?
