¹⁷ Then I beheld all the work of God, that a man cannot find out the work that is done under the sun: because though a man labors to seek it out, yet he shall not find it; yea moreover; though a wise man thinks to know it, yet shall he not be able to find it.

⁹ Who does great things and unsearchable; marvelous things without number:

⁷ Can you by searching find out God? can you find out the limits of the Almighty? ⁸ It is as high as heaven; what can you do? deeper than Sheol; what can you know? ⁹ The measure of it is longer than the earth, and broader than the sea.

⁵ Many, O LORD my God, are your wonderful works which you have done, and your thoughts which are toward us: they cannot be recounted in order unto you: if I would declare and speak of them, they are more than can be numbered.

¹⁶ When I thought to know this, it was too painful for me;

²⁴ O LORD, how manifold are your works! in wisdom have you made them all: the earth is full of your riches.

³ I neither learned wisdom, nor have the knowledge of the holy. ⁴ Who has ascended up into heaven, or descended? who has gathered the wind in his fists? who has bound the waters in a garment? who has established all the ends of the earth? what is his name, and what is his son's name, if you can tell?

¹¹ He has made every thing beautiful in its time: also he has put eternity in men’s hearts, so that no man can find out the work that God does from the beginning to the end.

²³ All this have I proved by wisdom: I said, I will be wise; but it was far from me. ²⁴ That which is far off, and exceedingly deep, who can find it out?

⁵ As you know not what is the way of the wind, nor how the bones do grow in the womb of her that is with child: even so you know not the works of God who makes all.

²⁸ Have you not known? have you not heard, that the everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, faints not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding.

³³ O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out!
