¹ And the LORD said unto Moses, Depart, and go up from here, you and the people whom you have brought up out of the land of Egypt, unto the land which I swore unto Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, saying, Unto your descendants will I give it: ² And I will send an angel before you; and I will drive out the Canaanite, the Amorite, and the Hittite, and the Perizzite, the Hivite, and the Jebusite: ³ Unto a land flowing with milk and honey: for I will not go up in the midst of you; for you are a stiff-necked people: lest I consume you in the way. ⁴ And when the people heard these evil tidings, they mourned: and no man did put on him his ornaments. ⁵ For the LORD had said unto Moses, Say unto the children of Israel, you are a stiff-necked people: I will come up into the midst of you in a moment, and consume you: therefore now put off your ornaments from you, that I may know what to do unto you. ⁶ And the children of Israel stripped themselves of their ornaments by the mount Horeb. ⁷ And Moses took a tent, and pitched it outside the camp, far off from the camp, and called it the Tabernacle of the congregation. And it came to pass, that every one who sought the LORD went out unto the tabernacle of meeting, which was outside the camp. ⁸ And it came to pass, when Moses went out unto the tabernacle, that all the people rose up, and stood every man at his tent door, and looked after Moses, until he was gone into the tabernacle. ⁹ And it came to pass, as Moses entered into the tabernacle, the pillar of cloud descended, and stood at the door of the tabernacle, and the LORD talked with Moses. ¹⁰ And all the people saw the pillar of cloud stand at the tabernacle door: and all the people rose up and worshiped, every man in his tent door. ¹¹ And the LORD spoke unto Moses face to face, as a man speaks to his friend. And he turned again into the camp: but his servant Joshua, the son of Nun, a young man, departed not out of the tabernacle. ¹² And Moses said unto the LORD, See, you say unto me, Bring up this people: and you have not let me know whom you will send with me. Yet you have said, I know you by name, and you have also found grace in my sight. ¹³ Now therefore, I pray you, if I have found grace in your sight, show me now your way, that I may know you, that I may find grace in your sight: and consider that this nation is your people. ¹⁴ And he said, My presence shall go with you, and I will give you rest. ¹⁵ And he said unto him, If your presence go not with me, carry us not up from here. ¹⁶ For how shall it be known here that I and your people have found grace in your sight? is it not in that you go with us? so shall we be separated, I and your people, from all the people that are upon the face of the earth. ¹⁷ And the LORD said unto Moses, I will do this thing also that you have spoken: for you have found grace in my sight, and I know you by name. ¹⁸ And he said, I beseech you, show me your glory. ¹⁹ And he said, I will make all my goodness pass before you, and I will proclaim the name of the LORD before you; and will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and will show mercy on whom I will show mercy. ²⁰ And he said, You can not see my face: for there shall no man see me, and live. ²¹ And the LORD said, Behold, there is a place by me, and you shall stand upon a rock: ²² And it shall come to pass, while my glory passes by, that I will put you in a cleft of the rock, and will cover you with my hand while I pass by: ²³ And I will take away my hand, and you shall see my back: but my face shall not be seen.

⁷ And the LORD appeared unto Abram, and said, Unto your descendants will I give this land: and there built he an altar unto the LORD, who appeared unto him.

¹⁴ And the LORD said unto Abram, after Lot was separated from him, Lift up now your eyes, and look from the place where you are northward, and southward, and eastward, and westward: ¹⁵ For all the land which you see, to you will I give it, and to your descendants forever. ¹⁶ And I will make your descendants as the dust of the earth: so that if a man can number the dust of the earth, then shall your descendants also be numbered. ¹⁷ Arise, walk through the land in the length of it and in the breadth of it; for I will give it unto you.

¹⁸ In the same day the LORD made a covenant with Abram, saying, Unto your descendants have I given this land, from the river of Egypt unto the great river, the river Euphrates:

¹⁶ And said, By myself have I sworn, says the LORD, for because you have done this thing, and have not withheld your son, your only son: ¹⁷ That in blessing I will bless you, and in multiplying I will multiply your descendants as the stars of the heaven, and as the sand which is upon the seashore; and your descendants shall possess the gate of their enemies; ¹⁸ And in your descendants shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; because you have obeyed my voice.

³ Sojourn in this land, and I will be with you, and will bless you; for unto you, and unto your descendants, I will give all these countries, and I will perform the oath which I swore unto Abraham your father;

¹³ And, behold, the LORD stood above it, and said, I am the LORD God of Abraham your father, and the God of Isaac: the land on which you lie, to you will I give it, and to your descendants; ¹⁴ And your descendants shall be as the dust of the earth, and you shall spread abroad to the west, and to the east, and to the north, and to the south: and in you and in your descendants shall all the families of the earth be blessed. ¹⁵ And, behold, I am with you, and will keep you in all places wherever you go, and will bring you again into this land; for I will not leave you, until I have done that which I have spoken to you of.

³ And the people thirsted there for water; and the people murmured against Moses, and said, Why is this that you have brought us up out of Egypt, to kill us and our children and our cattle with thirst?

¹ And when the people saw that Moses delayed to come down out of the mount, the people gathered themselves together unto Aaron, and said unto him, Up, make us gods, who shall go before us; for as for this Moses, the man that brought us up out of the land of Egypt, we know not what has become of him.

⁷ And the LORD said unto Moses, Go, get you down; for your people, whom you brought out of the land of Egypt, have corrupted themselves:

¹³ Remember Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, your servants, to whom you swore by your own self, and said unto them, I will multiply your descendants as the stars of heaven, and all this land that I have spoken of will I give unto your descendants, and they shall inherit it forever.

³⁴ Therefore now go, lead the people unto the place of which I have spoken unto you: behold, my Angel shall go before you: nevertheless in the day when I visit I will visit their sin upon them.

⁸ And I have come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians, and to bring them up out of that land unto a good and large land, unto a land flowing with milk and honey; unto the place of the Canaanites, and the Hittites, and the Amorites, and the Perizzites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites.

¹⁷ And I have said, I will bring you up out of the affliction of Egypt unto the land of the Canaanites, and the Hittites, and the Amorites, and the Perizzites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites, unto a land flowing with milk and honey.

²⁰ Behold, I send an Angel before you, to keep you in the way, and to bring you into the place which I have prepared.

²⁷ I will send my fear before you, and will destroy all the people to whom you shall come, and I will make all your enemies turn their backs unto you. ²⁸ And I will send hornets before you, which shall drive out the Hivite, the Canaanite, and the Hittite, from before you. ²⁹ I will not drive them out from before you in one year; lest the land become desolate, and the beasts of the field multiply against you. ³⁰ Little by little I will drive them out from before you, until you be increased, and inherit the land. ³¹ And I will set your bounds from the Red sea even unto the sea of the Philistines, and from the desert unto the river: for I will deliver the inhabitants of the land into your hand; and you shall drive them out before you.

¹¹ Observe that which I command you this day: behold, I drive out before you the Amorite, and the Canaanite, and the Hittite, and the Perizzite, and the Hivite, and the Jebusite.

²² And the LORD your God will drive out those nations before you little by little: you may not consume them at once, lest the wild animals of the field become too numerous for you.

¹¹ And you went over the Jordan, and came unto Jericho: and the men of Jericho fought against you, the Amorites, and the Perizzites, and the Canaanites, and the Hittites, and the Girgashites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites; and I delivered them into your hand.

⁵ And it shall be when the LORD shall bring you into the land of the Canaanites, and the Hittites, and the Amorites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites, which he swore unto your fathers to give you, a land flowing with milk and honey, that you shall keep this service in this month.

²¹ Beware of him, and obey his voice, provoke him not; for he will not pardon your transgressions: for my name is in him.

⁹ And the LORD said unto Moses, I have seen this people, and, behold, it is a stiff-necked people: ¹⁰ Now therefore let me alone, that my wrath may grow hot against them, and that I may consume them: and I will make of you a great nation.

¹⁴ And the LORD turned from the evil which he thought to do unto his people.

¹⁵ And he said unto him, If your presence go not with me, carry us not up from here. ¹⁶ For how shall it be known here that I and your people have found grace in your sight? is it not in that you go with us? so shall we be separated, I and your people, from all the people that are upon the face of the earth. ¹⁷ And the LORD said unto Moses, I will do this thing also that you have spoken: for you have found grace in my sight, and I know you by name.

⁹ And he said, If now I have found grace in your sight, O Lord, let my Lord, I pray you, go among us; for it is a stiff-necked people; and pardon our iniquity and our sin, and take us for your inheritance.

²⁴ But I have said unto you, you shall inherit their land, and I will give it unto you to possess it, a land that flows with milk and honey: I am the LORD your God, who has separated you from other people.

²⁷ And they told him, and said, We came unto the land where you sent us, and surely it flows with milk and honey; and this is the fruit of it.

⁸ If the LORD delights in us, then he will bring us into this land, and give it to us; a land which flows with milk and honey.

¹² I will smite them with the pestilence, and disinherit them, and will make of you a greater nation and mightier than they.

¹³ Is it a small thing that you have brought us up out of a land that flows with milk and honey, to kill us in the wilderness, that you make yourself altogether a prince over us?

²¹ Separate yourselves from among this congregation, that I may consume them in a moment.

⁴⁵ Get away from among this congregation, that I may consume them as in a moment. And they fell upon their faces.

⁶ Understand therefore, that the LORD your God gives you not this good land to possess it for your righteousness; for you are a stiff-necked people. ⁷ Remember, and forget not, how you provoked the LORD your God to wrath in the wilderness: from the day that you did depart out of the land of Egypt, until you came unto this place, you have been rebellious against the LORD. ⁸ Also in Horeb you provoked the LORD to wrath, so that the LORD was angry with you to have destroyed you. ⁹ When I was gone up into the mount to receive the tables of stone, even the tables of the covenant which the LORD made with you, then I abode in the mount forty days and forty nights, I neither did eat bread nor drink water: ¹⁰ And the LORD delivered unto me two tables of stone written with the finger of God; and on them was written according to all the words, which the LORD spoke with you in the mount out of the midst of the fire in the day of the assembly. ¹¹ And it came to pass at the end of forty days and forty nights, that the LORD gave me the two tables of stone, even the tables of the covenant. ¹² And the LORD said unto me, Arise, get you down quickly from here; for your people whom you have brought forth out of Egypt have corrupted themselves; they have quickly turned aside out of the way which I commanded them; they have made them a molten image. ¹³ Furthermore the LORD spoke unto me, saying, I have seen this people, and, behold, it is a stiff-necked people:

²⁶ I said, I would scatter them into corners, I would make the remembrance of them to cease from among men: ²⁷ Were it not that I feared the wrath of the enemy, lest their adversaries should misunderstand, and lest they should say, Our hand has triumphed, and the LORD has not done all this.

⁶ For the children of Israel walked forty years in the wilderness, till all the people that were men of war, who came out of Egypt, were consumed, because they obeyed not the voice of the LORD: unto whom the LORD swore that he would not show them the land, which the LORD swore unto their fathers that he would give us, a land that flows with milk and honey.

³⁰ Therefore the LORD God of Israel says, I said indeed that your house, and the house of your father, should walk before me forever: but now the LORD says, Be it far from me; for them that honor me I will honor, and they that despise me shall be lightly esteemed.

⁸ And might not be as their fathers, a stubborn and rebellious generation; a generation that set not their heart aright, and whose spirit was not steadfast with God.

⁵ That I may perform the oath which I have sworn unto your fathers, to give them a land flowing with milk and honey, as it is this day. Then answered I, and said, So be it, O LORD.

⁷ At what instant I shall speak concerning a nation, and concerning a kingdom, to pluck up, and to pull down, and to destroy it; ⁸ If that nation, against whom I have spoken, turn from their evil, I will change from the evil that I thought to do unto them. ⁹ And at what instant I shall speak concerning a nation, and concerning a kingdom, to build and to plant it; ¹⁰ If it does evil in my sight, that it obeys not my voice, then I will change from the good, with which I said I would benefit them.

¹⁸ When I say unto the wicked, You shall surely die; and you give him not warning, nor speak to warn the wicked from his wicked way, to save his life; the same wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at your hand. ¹⁹ Yet if you warn the wicked, and he turns not from his wickedness, nor from his wicked way, he shall die in his iniquity; but you have delivered your soul.

¹³ When I shall say to the righteous, that he shall surely live; if he trusts in his own righteousness, and commits iniquity, all his righteousnesses shall not be remembered; but for his iniquity that he has committed, he shall die for it. ¹⁴ Again, when I say unto the wicked, You shall surely die; if he turns from his sin, and does that which is lawful and right; ¹⁵ If the wicked restores the pledge, gives back that which he has stolen, walks in the statutes of life, without committing iniquity; he shall surely live, he shall not die. ¹⁶ None of his sins that he has committed shall be mentioned unto him: he has done that which is lawful and right; he shall surely live.

¹³ Hear you, and testify in the house of Jacob, says the Lord GOD, {} the God of hosts, ¹⁴ That in the day that I shall punish the transgressions of Israel upon him I will also punish the altars of Bethel: and the horns of the altar shall be cut off, and fall to the ground.

⁴ And Jonah began to enter into the city a day's journey, and he cried, and said, Yet forty days, and Nineveh shall be overthrown.

¹⁰ And God saw their works, that they turned from their evil way; and God relented of the disaster, that he had said that he would bring upon them; and he did it not.

⁵¹ You stiff-necked and uncircumcised in heart and ears, you do always resist the Holy Spirit: as your fathers did, so do you.

⁶ And Moses said unto Aaron, and unto Eleazar and unto Ithamar, his sons, Uncover not your heads, neither rend your clothes; lest you die, and lest wrath come upon all the people: but let your brethren, the whole house of Israel, bewail the burning which the LORD has kindled.

¹ And all the congregation lifted up their voice, and cried; and the people wept that night.

³⁹ And Moses told these sayings unto all the children of Israel: and the people mourned greatly.

²⁴ And Mephibosheth the son of Saul came down to meet the king, and had neither dressed his feet, nor trimmed his beard, nor washed his clothes, from the day the king departed until the day he came again in peace.

²⁷ And it came to pass, when Ahab heard those words, that he tore his clothes, and put sackcloth upon his flesh, and fasted, and lay in sackcloth, and went softly.

¹ And it came to pass, when king Hezekiah heard it, that he tore his clothes, and covered himself with sackcloth, and went into the house of the LORD.

³ And when I heard this thing, I tore my garment and my mantle, and plucked off the hair of my head and of my beard, and sat down appalled.

¹ When Mordecai perceived all that was done, Mordecai tore his clothes, and put on sackcloth with ashes, and went out into the midst of the city, and cried with a loud and a bitter cry; ² And came even before the king's gate: for none might enter into the king's gate clothed with sackcloth. ³ And in every province, wherever the king's commandment and his decree came, there was great mourning among the Jews, and fasting, and weeping, and wailing; and many lay in sackcloth and ashes. ⁴ So Esther's maids and her eunuchs came and told it to her. Then was the queen exceedingly grieved; and she sent garments to clothe Mordecai, and to take away his sackcloth from him: but he received it not.

²⁰ Then Job arose, and tore his mantle, and shaved his head, and fell down upon the ground, and worshiped,

¹² And when they lifted up their eyes afar off, and knew him not, they lifted up their voice, and wept; and they tore every one his mantle, and sprinkled dust upon their heads toward heaven.

¹¹ Tremble, you women that are at ease; be troubled, you complacent ones: strip yourselves, and make yourselves bare, and gird sackcloth upon your waists.

¹⁷ Forbear to cry, make no mourning for the dead, bind the turban of your head upon you, and put on your shoes upon your feet, and cover not your lips, and eat not man’s bread of sorrow.

²³ And your turban shall be upon your heads, and your shoes upon your feet: you shall not mourn nor weep; but you shall pine away for your iniquities, and mourn one toward another.

¹⁶ Then all the princes of the sea shall come down from their thrones, and lay away their robes, and put off their embroidered garments: they shall clothe themselves with trembling; they shall sit upon the ground, and shall tremble at every moment, and be astonished at you.

¹⁴ And they have not cried unto me with their heart, when they wailed upon their beds: they assemble themselves for grain and wine, and they rebel against me.

⁶ For word came unto the king of Nineveh, and he arose from his throne, and he laid his robe from him, and covered himself with sackcloth, and sat in ashes.

³ And to speak unto the priests who were in the house of the LORD of hosts, and to the prophets, saying, Should I weep in the fifth month, consecrating myself, as I have done these so many years?

⁵ Speak unto all the people of the land, and to the priests, saying, When you fasted and mourned in the fifth and seventh month, even those seventy years, did you at all fast unto me, even to me?

²¹ I will go down now, and see whether they have done altogether according to the outcry, which has come unto me; and if not, I will know.

¹² And he said, Lay not your hand upon the lad, neither do you anything unto him: for now I know that you fear God, seeing you have not withheld your son, your only son from me.

³ Unto a land flowing with milk and honey: for I will not go up in the midst of you; for you are a stiff-necked people: lest I consume you in the way. ⁴ And when the people heard these evil tidings, they mourned: and no man did put on him his ornaments.

⁴⁵ Get away from among this congregation, that I may consume them as in a moment. And they fell upon their faces. ⁴⁶ And Moses said unto Aaron, Take a censer, and put fire therein from off the altar, and put on incense, and go quickly unto the congregation, and make an atonement for them: for there is wrath gone out from the LORD; the plague has begun.

² And you shall remember all the way which the LORD your God led you these forty years in the wilderness, to humble you, and to test you, to know what was in your heart, whether you would keep his commandments, or not.

²⁰ In a moment shall they die, and the people shall be troubled at midnight, and pass away: and the mighty shall be taken away without a hand.

¹⁹ How are they brought into desolation, as in a moment! they are utterly consumed with terrors.

²³ Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts:

¹² And in that day did the Lord GOD of hosts call for weeping, and for mourning, and for baldness, and for girding with sackcloth:

⁶ For the punishment of the iniquity of the daughter of my people is greater than the punishment of the sin of Sodom, that was overthrown as in a moment, with no hands laid on her.

³ And all the people broke off the golden earrings which were in their ears, and brought them unto Aaron.

⁴ And when the people heard these evil tidings, they mourned: and no man did put on him his ornaments.

¹⁹ Your own wickedness shall correct you, and your backslidings shall reprove you: know therefore and see that it is an evil thing and bitter, that you have forsaken the LORD your God, and that my fear is not in you, says the Lord GOD of hosts.

⁴² This shall be a continual burnt offering throughout your generations at the door of the tabernacle of meeting before the LORD: where I will meet you, to speak there unto you. ⁴³ And there I will meet with the children of Israel, and the tabernacle shall be sanctified by my glory.

²⁹ But if from there you shall seek the LORD your God, you shall find him, if you seek him with all your heart and with all your soul.

¹ Then there was a famine in the days of David three years, year after year; and David inquired of the LORD. And the LORD answered, It is for Saul, and for his bloody house, because he slew the Gibeonites.

¹ Why stand you afar off, O LORD? why hide you yourself in times of trouble?

⁸ When you said, Seek my face; my heart said unto you, your face, LORD, will I seek.

²² This you have seen, O LORD: keep not silence: O LORD, be not far from me.

²⁹ The LORD is far from the wicked: but he hears the prayer of the righteous.

⁶ Seek you the LORD while he may be found, call you upon him while he is near: ⁷ Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.

² But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear.

¹² Though they bring up their children, yet will I bereave them, that there shall not be a man left: yea, woe also to them when I depart from them!

⁷ Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and you shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: ⁸ For every one that asks receives; and he that seeks finds; and to him that knocks it shall be opened.

¹¹ For the bodies of those animals, whose blood is brought into the sanctuary by the high priest for sin, are burned outside the camp. ¹² Therefore Jesus also, that he might sanctify the people with his own blood, suffered outside the gate. ¹³ Let us go forth therefore unto him outside the camp, bearing his reproach.

²⁷ So they got away from the tents of Korah, Dathan, and Abiram, on every side: and Dathan and Abiram came out, and stood in the door of their tents, and their wives, and their sons, and their little children.

²² And he quit talking with him, and God went up from Abraham.

³³ And the LORD went his way, as soon as he had left speaking with Abraham: and Abraham returned unto his place.

²¹ And the LORD went before them by day in a pillar of a cloud, to lead them in the way; and by night in a pillar of fire, to give them light; to go by day and night: ²² He took not away the pillar of the cloud by day, nor the pillar of fire by night, from before the people.

²² And there I will meet with you, and I will commune with you from above the mercy seat, from between the two cherubim that are upon the ark of the testimony, of all things which I will give you in commandment unto the children of Israel.

¹⁸ And he gave unto Moses, when he had made an end of speaking with him upon mount Sinai, two tables of testimony, tables of stone, written with the finger of God.

¹¹ And the LORD spoke unto Moses face to face, as a man speaks to his friend. And he turned again into the camp: but his servant Joshua, the son of Nun, a young man, departed not out of the tabernacle.

³ And no man shall come up with you, neither let any man be seen throughout all the mount; neither let the flocks nor herds feed before that mount.

¹⁷ And I will come down and talk with you there: and I will take some of the spirit which is upon you, and will put it upon them; and they shall bear the burden of the people with you, that you bear it not yourself alone.

⁷ He spoke unto them in the pillar of cloud: they kept his testimonies, and the ordinance that he gave them.

²² And the hand of the LORD was there upon me; and he said unto me, Arise, go forth into the plain, and I will there talk with you.

³¹ And the people believed: and when they heard that the LORD had visited the children of Israel, and that he had looked upon their affliction, then they bowed their heads and worshiped.

¹⁴ And the king turned his face around, and blessed all the congregation of Israel: (and all the congregation of Israel stood;)

²² And Solomon stood before the altar of the LORD in the presence of all the congregation of Israel, and spread forth his hands toward heaven:

¹³ And the tax collector, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner.

³⁰ And Jacob called the name of the place Peniel: for I have seen God face to face, and my life is preserved.

⁹ And Moses said unto Joshua, Choose us out men, and go out, fight with Amalek: tomorrow I will stand on the top of the hill with the rod of God in my hand.

¹³ And Moses rose up, and his minister Joshua: and Moses went up into the mount of God.

¹⁷ And when Joshua heard the noise of the people as they shouted, he said unto Moses, There is a noise of war in the camp.

⁹ And it came to pass, as Moses entered into the tabernacle, the pillar of cloud descended, and stood at the door of the tabernacle, and the LORD talked with Moses.

⁸ With him will I speak mouth to mouth, even clearly, and not in dark sayings; and the form of the LORD shall he behold: why then were you not afraid to speak against my servant Moses?

⁴ The LORD talked with you face to face in the mount out of the midst of the fire,

¹⁰ And there arose not a prophet since in Israel like unto Moses, whom the LORD knew face to face,

⁷ Are not you our God, who did drive out the inhabitants of this land before your people Israel, and gave it to the descendants of Abraham your friend forever?

²¹ O that one might plead for a man with God, as a man pleads for his neighbor!

⁸ I am the LORD: that is my name: and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise to graven images.

²⁹ He that has the bride is the bridegroom: but the friend of the bridegroom, who stands and hears him, rejoices greatly because of the bridegroom's voice: this my joy therefore is fulfilled.

¹¹ These things said he: and after that he said unto them, Our friend Lazarus sleeps; but I go, that I may awake him out of sleep.

¹⁴ You are my friends, if you do whatsoever I command you. ¹⁵ From now on I call you not servants; for the servant knows not what his lord does: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you.

²³ And the scripture was fulfilled which says, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God.

¹⁹ For I know him, that he will command his children and his household after him, and they shall keep the way of the LORD, to do righteousness and justice; that the LORD may bring upon Abraham that which he has spoken of him.

¹⁰ Come now therefore, and I will send you unto Pharaoh, that you may bring forth my people the children of Israel out of Egypt.

¹ And the LORD said unto Moses, Depart, and go up from here, you and the people whom you have brought up out of the land of Egypt, unto the land which I swore unto Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, saying, Unto your descendants will I give it:

¹⁷ And the LORD said unto Moses, I will do this thing also that you have spoken: for you have found grace in my sight, and I know you by name.

⁶ For the LORD knows the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish.

¹ But now thus says the LORD that created you, O Jacob, and he that formed you, O Israel, Fear not: for I have redeemed you, I have called you by your name; you are mine.

⁵ Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; and before you came forth out of the womb I sanctified you, and I ordained you a prophet unto the nations.

¹⁴ I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine. ¹⁵ As the Father knows me, even so know I the Father: and I lay down my life for the sheep.

¹⁹ Nevertheless the foundation of God stands sure, having this seal, The Lord knows them that are his. And, Let every one that names the name of Christ depart from iniquity.

¹⁷ And the LORD said unto Moses, I will do this thing also that you have spoken: for you have found grace in my sight, and I know you by name. ¹⁸ And he said, I beseech you, show me your glory.

²⁶ I prayed therefore unto the LORD, and said, O Lord GOD, destroy not your people and your inheritance, which you have redeemed through your greatness, which you have brought forth out of Egypt with a mighty hand.

²⁹ Yet they are your people and your inheritance, which you brought out by your mighty power and by your outstretched arm.

⁴ Show me your ways, O LORD; teach me your paths.

¹¹ Teach me your way, O LORD, and lead me in a level path, because of my enemies.

¹¹ Teach me your way, O LORD; I will walk in your truth: unite my heart to fear your name.

³³ [He] Teach me, O LORD, the way of your statutes; and I shall keep it unto the end.

⁷ Tell me, O you whom my soul loves, where you feed, where you make your flock to rest at noon: for why should I be as one that turns aside by the flocks of your companions? ⁸ If you know not, O you fairest among women, go your way forth in the footsteps of the flock, and feed your kids beside the shepherds' tents.

²¹ And your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, This is the way, walk you in it, when you turn to the right hand, and when you turn to the left.

¹⁷ O LORD, why have you made us to err from your ways, and hardened our heart from your fear? Return for your servants' sake, the tribes of your inheritance.

¹⁹ We are yours: you never bore rule over them; they were not called by your name.

¹⁷ Let the priests, the ministers of the LORD, weep between the porch and the altar, and let them say, Spare your people, O LORD, and give not your heritage to reproach, that the nations should rule over them: why should they say among the people, Where is their God?

³ And this is life eternal, that they might know you the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.

²⁸ As concerning the gospel, they are enemies for your sakes: but concerning the election, they are beloved for the fathers' sakes.

¹⁷ That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him:

¹⁰ That you might walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God;

¹⁸ But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and forever. Amen.

²¹ And the LORD went before them by day in a pillar of a cloud, to lead them in the way; and by night in a pillar of fire, to give them light; to go by day and night:

²⁰ Until the LORD has given rest unto your brethren, as well as unto you, and until they also possess the land which the LORD your God has given them beyond the Jordan: and then shall you return every man unto his possession, which I have given you.

⁵ There shall not any man be able to stand before you all the days of your life: as I was with Moses, so I will be with you: I will not fail you, nor forsake you.

⁴⁴ And the LORD gave them rest round about, according to all that he swore unto their fathers: and there stood not a man of all their enemies before them; the LORD delivered all their enemies into their hand.

⁴ And now the LORD your God has given rest unto your brethren, as he promised them: therefore now return, and get you unto your tents, and unto the land of your possession, which Moses the servant of the LORD gave you on the other side of Jordan.

¹ And it came to pass a long time after the LORD had given rest unto Israel from all their enemies round about, that Joshua grew old and stricken in age.

¹¹ Unto whom I swore in my anger that they should not enter into my rest.

⁹ In all their affliction he was afflicted, and the angel of his presence saved them: in his love and in his pity he redeemed them; and he bore them, and carried them all the days of old.

¹⁶ Thus says the LORD, Stand you in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where the good way is, and walk in it, and you shall find rest for your souls. But they said, We will not walk in it.

²⁸ Come unto me, all you that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

²⁰ Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

⁸ For if Joshua had given them rest, then would he not afterward have spoken of another day. ⁹ There remains therefore a rest to the people of God.

³ Unto a land flowing with milk and honey: for I will not go up in the midst of you; for you are a stiff-necked people: lest I consume you in the way.

⁶ There are many that say, Who will show us any good? LORD, lift up the light of your countenance upon us.

²² And I will set apart in that day the land of Goshen, in which my people dwell, that no swarms of flies shall be there; to the end you may know that I am the LORD in the midst of the earth.

⁵ Now therefore, if you will obey my voice indeed, and keep my covenant, then you shall be a special treasure unto me above all people: for all the earth is mine: ⁶ And you shall be unto me a kingdom of priests, and a holy nation. These are the words which you shall speak unto the children of Israel.

¹⁰ And he said, Behold, I make a covenant: before all your people I will do marvels, such as have not been done in all the earth, nor in any nation: and all the people among whom you are shall see the work of the LORD: for it is an awesome thing that I will do with you.

¹⁴ And they will tell it to the inhabitants of this land: for they have heard that you LORD are among this people, that you LORD are seen face to face, and that your cloud stands over them, and that you go before them, by daytime in a pillar of a cloud, and in a pillar of fire by night.

⁹ For from the top of the rocks I see him, and from the hills I behold him: lo, the people shall dwell alone, and shall not be reckoned among the nations.

⁷ For what nation is there so great, that has God so near unto them, as the LORD our God is in all things that we call upon him for?

³⁴ Or has God ever ventured to go and take him a nation from the midst of another nation, by temptations, by signs, and by wonders, and by war, and by a mighty hand, and by an outstretched arm, and by great terrors, according to all that the LORD your God did for you in Egypt before your eyes?

²³ And what one nation in the earth is like your people, even like Israel, whom God went to redeem for a people to himself, and to make himself a name, and to do for you great things and awesome, for your land, before your people, whom you redeemed to yourself from Egypt, from the nations and their gods?

⁵³ For you did separate them from among all the people of the earth, to be your inheritance, as you spoke by the hand of Moses your servant, when you brought our fathers out of Egypt, O Lord GOD.

²⁰ He has not dealt so with any nation: and as for his judgments, they have not known them. Praise you the LORD.

²³ Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.

¹⁷ Therefore come out from among them, and be you separate, says the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you,

⁸ But Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD.

³² And he said, Oh let not the Lord be angry, and I will speak yet but this once: Suppose ten shall be found there. And he said, I will not destroy it for ten's sake.

¹⁹ Behold now, your servant has found grace in your sight, and you have magnified your mercy, which you have showed unto me in saving my life; and I cannot escape to the mountain, lest some evil overtake me, and I die:

²¹ And he said unto him, See, I have accepted you concerning this thing also, that I will not overthrow this city, for which you have spoken.

¹² And Moses said unto the LORD, See, you say unto me, Bring up this people: and you have not let me know whom you will send with me. Yet you have said, I know you by name, and you have also found grace in my sight.

²⁴ And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear.

²³ And in that day you shall ask me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto you, whatsoever you shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it to you.

¹⁶ Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that you may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.

¹⁴ And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us: ¹⁵ And if we know that he hears us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the requests that we desired of him.

²⁰ And he said, You can not see my face: for there shall no man see me, and live.

¹⁸ No man has seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, who is in the bosom of the Father, he has declared him.

¹⁸ But we all, with unveiled face beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.

⁶ For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, has shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

¹⁶ Who only has immortality, dwelling in the light which no man can approach unto; whom no man has seen, nor can see: to whom be honor and power everlasting. Amen.

¹³ Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Savior Jesus Christ;

²³ And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God is its light, and the Lamb is its lamp.

¹³ And Moses said unto God, Behold, when I come unto the children of Israel, and shall say unto them, The God of your fathers has sent me unto you; and they shall say to me, What is his name? what shall I say unto them? ¹⁴ And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shall you say unto the children of Israel, I AM has sent me unto you. ¹⁵ And God said moreover unto Moses, Thus shall you say unto the children of Israel, The LORD God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, has sent me unto you: this is my name forever, and this is my memorial unto all generations.

⁵ And the LORD descended in the cloud, and stood with him there, and proclaimed the name of the LORD. ⁶ And the LORD passed by before him, and proclaimed, The LORD, The LORD God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abundant in goodness and truth, ⁷ Keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, and that will by no means clear the guilty; visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children, and upon the children's children, unto the third and to the fourth generation.

²⁵ And they took strong cities, and a rich land, and possessed houses full of all goods, cisterns hewed out, vineyards, and olive groves, and fruit trees in abundance: so they did eat, and were filled, and became fat, and delighted themselves in your great goodness.

¹³ His soul shall dwell at ease; and his descendants shall inherit the earth.

⁴ Blessed is the man whom you choose, and cause to approach unto you, that he may dwell in your courts: we shall be satisfied with the goodness of your house, even of your holy temple.

¹⁴ Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.

⁶ For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

⁴ And in that day shall you say, Praise the LORD, call upon his name, declare his deeds among the people, make mention that his name is exalted.

¹² Therefore they shall come and sing in the height of Zion, and shall flow together to the goodness of the LORD, for grain, and for wine, and for oil, and for the young of the flock and of the herd: and their soul shall be as a watered garden; and they shall not sorrow any more at all.

¹⁴ And I will fill to the full the soul of the priests with abundance, and my people shall be satisfied with my goodness, says the LORD.

¹⁷ For how great is his goodness, and how great is his beauty! grain shall make the young men cheerful, and new wine the maidens.

⁴ Or despise you the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leads you to repentance?

¹⁵ For he says to Moses, I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion. ¹⁶ So then it is not of him that wills, nor of him that runs, but of God that shows mercy. ¹⁷ For the scripture says unto Pharaoh, Even for this same purpose have I raised you up, that I might show my power in you, and that my name might be declared throughout all the earth. ¹⁸ Therefore has he mercy on whom he will have mercy, and whom he will he hardens.

²³ And that he might make known the riches of his glory on the vessels of mercy, which he had before prepared unto glory,

⁶ To the praise of the glory of his grace, in which he has made us accepted in the beloved. ⁷ In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace; ⁸ Which he has abounded toward us in all wisdom and prudence;

¹⁰ And they saw the God of Israel: and there was under his feet as it were a paved work of a sapphire stone, and as it were the very heaven in its clearness.

²⁴ And you said, Behold, the LORD our God has showed us his glory and his greatness, and we have heard his voice out of the midst of the fire: we have seen this day that God does talk with man, and he lives.

²² And when Gideon perceived that he was an angel of the LORD, Gideon said, Alas, O Lord GOD! for I have seen an angel of the LORD face to face.

²² And Manoah said unto his wife, We shall surely die, because we have seen God.

⁵ Then said I, Woe is me! for I am undone; because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips: for my eyes have seen the King, the LORD of hosts.

¹³ But to which of the angels said he at any time, Sit on my right hand, until I make your enemies your footstool?

¹⁶ And he had in his right hand seven stars: and out of his mouth went a sharp two edged sword: and his countenance was as the sun shines in its strength. ¹⁷ And when I saw him, I fell at his feet as dead. And he laid his right hand upon me, saying unto me, Fear not; I am the first and the last:

³¹ But as for you, stand you here by me, and I will speak unto you all the commandments, and the statutes, and the judgments, which you shall teach them, that they may do them in the land which I give them to possess it.

⁴ And when he that does flee unto one of those cities shall stand at the entrance of the gate of the city, and shall declare his cause in the ears of the elders of that city, they shall take him into the city unto them, and give him a place, that he may dwell among them.

⁵ Even unto them will I give in my house and within my walls a place and a name better than of sons and of daughters: I will give them an everlasting name, that shall not be cut off.

⁷ Thus says the LORD of hosts; If you will walk in my ways, and if you will keep my charge, then you shall also judge my house, and shall also keep my courts, and I will give you places to walk among these that stand here.

¹ Then drew near unto him all the tax collectors and sinners to hear him.

¹² And of Benjamin he said, The beloved of the LORD shall dwell in safety by him; and the LORD shall cover him all the day long, and he shall dwell between his shoulders.

² The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my shield, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower.

¹ He that dwells in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.

⁴ He shall cover you with his feathers, and under his wings shall you trust: his truth shall be your shield and buckler.

³ As the apple tree among the trees of the wood, so is my beloved among the sons. I sat down under his shadow with great delight, and his fruit was sweet to my taste.

²¹ To go into the clefts of the rocks, and into the tops of the ragged rocks, for fear of the LORD, and for the glory of his majesty, when he arises to shake mightily the earth.

² And a man shall be as a hiding place from the wind, and a refuge from the tempest; as rivers of water in a dry place, as the shadow of a great rock in a weary land.

⁴ And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ.

¹⁹ That is, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and has committed unto us the word of reconciliation.

⁷ Can you by searching find out God? can you find out the limits of the Almighty?

¹⁴ Lo, these are only parts of his ways: and how little a whisper is heard of him? but the thunder of his power who can understand?

¹² For now we see in a mirror dimly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.
