⁷ And Noah went in, and his sons, and his wife, and his sons' wives with him, into the ark, because of the waters of the flood.

¹³ In the very same day entered Noah, and Shem, and Ham, and Japheth, the sons of Noah, and Noah's wife, and the three wives of his sons with them, into the ark;

¹⁹ He shall deliver you in six troubles: yea, in seven there shall no evil touch you. ²⁰ In famine he shall redeem you from death: and in war from the power of the sword. ²¹ You shall be hid from the scourge of the tongue: neither shall you be afraid of destruction when it comes. ²² At destruction and famine you shall laugh: neither shall you be afraid of the beasts of the earth. ²³ For you shall be in covenant with the stones of the field: and the beasts of the field shall be at peace with you. ²⁴ And you shall know that your tabernacle shall be in peace; and you shall visit your habitation, and shall find nothing amiss.

¹⁸ Behold, the eye of the LORD is upon them that fear him, upon them that hope in his mercy; ¹⁹ To deliver their soul from death, and to keep them alive in famine.

¹ He that dwells in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. ² I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust. ³ Surely he shall deliver you from the snare of the fowler, and from the deadly pestilence. ⁴ He shall cover you with his feathers, and under his wings shall you trust: his truth shall be your shield and buckler. ⁵ You shall not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flies by day; ⁶ Nor for the pestilence that walks in darkness; nor for the destruction that wastes at noonday. ⁷ A thousand shall fall at your side, and ten thousand at your right hand; but it shall not come near you. ⁸ Only with your eyes shall you behold and see the reward of the wicked. ⁹ Because you have made the LORD, who is my refuge, even the most High, your habitation; ¹⁰ There shall no evil befall you, neither shall any plague come near your dwelling.

⁶ Blessings are upon the head of the just: but violence covers the mouth of the wicked. ⁷ The memory of the just is blessed: but the name of the wicked shall rot.

⁹ He that walks uprightly walks securely: but he that perverts his ways shall be known.

⁴ Riches profit not in the day of wrath: but righteousness delivers from death. ⁵ The righteousness of the perfect shall direct his way: but the wicked shall fall by his own wickedness. ⁶ The righteousness of the upright shall deliver them: but transgressors shall be taken in their own lust. ⁷ When a wicked man dies, his expectation shall perish: and the hope of unjust men perishes. ⁸ The righteous is delivered out of trouble, and the wicked comes in his stead.

²⁶ In the fear of the LORD is strong confidence: and his children shall have a place of refuge.

¹⁰ The name of the LORD is a strong tower: the righteous runs into it, and is safe.

¹⁰ Say you to the righteous, that it shall be well with him: for they shall eat the fruit of their deeds. ¹¹ Woe unto the wicked! it shall be ill with him: for the reward of his hands shall be done to him.

²⁰ Come, my people, enter you into your chambers, and shut your doors about you: hide yourself as it were for a little moment, until the indignation is past. ²¹ For, behold, the LORD comes out of his place to punish the inhabitants of the earth for their iniquity: the earth also shall disclose her bloodshed, and shall no more cover her slain.

⁴ And the LORD said unto him, Go through the midst of the city, through the midst of Jerusalem, and set a mark upon the foreheads of the men that sigh and that cry for all the abominations that are done in its midst. ⁵ And to the others he said in my hearing, Go you after him through the city, and kill: let not your eye spare, neither have you pity: ⁶ Slay utterly old and young, both maidens, and little children, and women: but come not near any man upon whom is the mark; and begin at my sanctuary. Then they began at the elders who were before the house.

³ Seek you the LORD, all you meek of the earth, who have kept his commands; seek righteousness, seek meekness: it may be you shall be hidden in the day of the LORD'S anger.

³⁷ But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. ³⁸ For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark, ³⁹ And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

²⁶ And as it was in the days of Noah, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man.

³⁹ For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.

¹⁵ That you may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom you shine as lights in the world; ¹⁶ Holding forth the word of life; that I may rejoice in the day of Christ, that I have not run in vain, neither labored in vain.

⁷ By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved by fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith.

²⁰ Who formerly were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was being prepared, by which a few, that is, eight souls were saved through water.

⁵ And spared not the ancient world, but saved Noah the eighth person, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood upon the world of the ungodly; ⁶ And turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah into ashes condemned them by a catastrophe, making them an example unto those that later should live ungodly; ⁷ And delivered just Lot, vexed with the filthy behavior of the wicked: ⁸ (For that righteous man dwelling among them, in seeing and hearing, vexed his righteous soul from day to day with their unlawful deeds;) ⁹ The Lord knows how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be punished:

¹⁹ And of every living thing of all flesh, two of every sort shall you bring into the ark, to keep them alive with you; they shall be male and female. ²⁰ Of fowls after their kind, and of cattle after their kind, of every creeping thing of the earth after its kind, two of every sort shall come unto you, to keep them alive. ²¹ And take with you of all food that is eaten, and you shall gather it to you; and it shall be for food for you, and for them.

⁸ Of clean beasts, and of beasts that are not clean, and of fowls, and of everything that creeps upon the earth,

²⁰ And Noah built an altar unto the LORD; and took of every clean beast, and of every clean fowl, and offered burnt offerings on the altar.

¹⁰ And that you may put difference between holy and unholy, and between unclean and clean;

¹ And the LORD spoke unto Moses and to Aaron, saying unto them, ² Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, These are the animals which you shall eat among all the animals that are on the earth. ³ Whatsoever parts the hoof, and is cloven footed, and chews the cud, among the animals, that shall you eat. ⁴ Nevertheless these shall you not eat of them that chew the cud, or of them that divide the hoof: as the camel, because it chews the cud, but divides not the hoof; it is unclean unto you. ⁵ And the rock badger, because it chews the cud, but divides not the hoof; it is unclean unto you. ⁶ And the hare, because it chews the cud, but divides not the hoof; it is unclean unto you. ⁷ And the swine, though it divides the hoof, and is cloven footed, yet it chews not the cud; it is unclean to you. ⁸ Of their flesh shall you not eat, and their carcass shall you not touch; they are unclean to you. ⁹ These shall you eat of all that are in the waters: whatsoever has fins and scales in the waters, in the seas, and in the rivers, them shall you eat. ¹⁰ And all that have not fins and scales in the seas, and in the rivers, of all that move in the waters, and of any living thing which is in the waters, they shall be an abomination unto you: ¹¹ They shall be even an abomination unto you; you shall not eat of their flesh, but you shall hold their carcasses in abomination. ¹² Whatsoever has no fins nor scales in the waters, that shall be an abomination unto you. ¹³ And these are they which you shall hold in abomination among the fowls; they shall not be eaten, they are an abomination: the eagle, and the vulture, and the osprey, ¹⁴ And the kite, and the falcon after its kind; ¹⁵ Every raven after its kind; ¹⁶ And the ostrich, and the nighthawk, and the sea gull, and the hawk after its kind, ¹⁷ And the little owl, and the cormorant, and the great owl, ¹⁸ And the white owl, and the pelican, and the carrion vulture, ¹⁹ And the stork, the heron after its kind, and the hoopoe, and the bat. ²⁰ All winged insects that creep, going upon all fours, shall be an abomination unto you. ²¹ Yet these may you eat of every winged insect that goes upon all fours, which have legs above their feet, to leap with upon the earth; ²² Even these of them you may eat; the locust after its kind, and the bald locust after its kind, and the cricket after its kind, and the grasshopper after its kind. ²³ But all other winged insects, which have four feet, shall be an abomination unto you. ²⁴ And for these you shall be unclean: whosoever touches the carcass of them shall be unclean until the evening. ²⁵ And whosoever bears any part of the carcass of them shall wash his clothes, and be unclean until the evening. ²⁶ The carcasses of every animal which divides the hoof, and is not cloven footed, nor chews the cud, are unclean unto you: every one that touches them shall be unclean. ²⁷ And whatsoever goes upon its paws, among all manner of animals that go on all fours, those are unclean unto you: whoever touches their carcass shall be unclean until the evening. ²⁸ And he that bears the carcass of them shall wash his clothes, and be unclean until the evening: they are unclean unto you. ²⁹ These also shall be unclean unto you among the creeping things that creep upon the earth; the weasel, and the mouse, and the great lizard after its kind, ³⁰ And the gecko, and the monitor lizard, and the wall lizard, and the sand lizard, and the chameleon. ³¹ These are unclean to you among all that creep: whosoever does touch them, when they are dead, shall be unclean until the evening. ³² And upon whatsoever any of them, when they are dead, does fall, it shall be unclean; whether it be any vessel of wood, or clothing, or skin, or sack, whatsoever vessel it be, wherein any work is done, it must be put into water, and it shall be unclean until the evening; so it shall be cleansed. ³³ And every earthen vessel, into which any of them falls, whatsoever is in it shall be unclean; and you shall break it. ³⁴ Of all food which may be eaten, that on which such water comes shall be unclean: and all drink that may be drunk in every such vessel shall be unclean. ³⁵ And everything whereupon any part of their carcass falls shall be unclean; whether it be oven, or ranges for pots, they shall be broken: for they are unclean, and shall be unclean unto you. ³⁶ Nevertheless a fountain or pit, wherein there is plenty of water, shall be clean: but that which touches their carcass shall be unclean. ³⁷ And if any part of their carcass fall upon any sowing seed which is to be sown, it shall be clean. ³⁸ But if any water be put upon the seed, and any part of their carcass fall thereon, it shall be unclean unto you. ³⁹ And if any animal, of which you may eat, dies; he that touches the carcass thereof shall be unclean until the evening. ⁴⁰ And he that eats of the carcass of it shall wash his clothes, and be unclean until the evening: he also that bears the carcass of it shall wash his clothes, and be unclean until the evening. ⁴¹ And every creeping thing that creeps upon the earth shall be an abomination; it shall not be eaten. ⁴² Whatsoever goes upon the belly, and whatsoever goes upon all fours, or whatsoever has many feet among all creeping things that creep upon the earth, them you shall not eat; for they are an abomination. ⁴³ You shall not make yourselves abominable with any creeping thing that creeps, neither shall you make yourselves unclean with them, that you should be defiled by them. ⁴⁴ For I am the LORD your God: you shall therefore sanctify yourselves, and you shall be holy; for I am holy: neither shall you defile yourselves with any manner of creeping thing that creeps upon the earth. ⁴⁵ For I am the LORD that brings you up out of the land of Egypt, to be your God: you shall therefore be holy, for I am holy. ⁴⁶ This is the law of the animals, and of the fowl, and of every living creature that moves in the waters, and of every creature that creeps upon the earth: ⁴⁷ To make a difference between the unclean and the clean, and between the animal that may be eaten and the animal that may not be eaten.

¹ You are the children of the LORD your God: you shall not cut yourselves, nor make any bald place on your foreheads for the dead. ² For you are a holy people unto the LORD your God, and the LORD has chosen you to be a peculiar people unto himself, above all the nations that are upon the earth. ³ You shall not eat any abominable thing. ⁴ These are the animals which you shall eat: the ox, the sheep, and the goat, ⁵ The hare, and the gazelle, and the roebuck, and the wild goat, and the ibex, and the antelope, and the mountain sheep. ⁶ And every animal that parts the hoof, and has the hoof split in two, and chews the cud, among the animals, that you shall eat. ⁷ Nevertheless these you shall not eat of them that chew the cud, or of them that have cloven hooves; as the camel, and the hare, and the rock badger: for they chew the cud, but divide not the hoof; therefore they are unclean unto you. ⁸ And the swine, because it divides the hoof, yet chews not the cud, it is unclean unto you: you shall not eat of their flesh, nor touch their dead carcass. ⁹ These you shall eat of all that are in the waters: all that have fins and scales shall you eat: ¹⁰ And whatsoever has not fins and scales you may not eat; it is unclean unto you. ¹¹ Of all clean birds you shall eat. ¹² But these are they of which you shall not eat: the eagle, and the vulture, and the osprey, ¹³ And the buzzard, and the falcon, and the kite after their kinds, ¹⁴ And every raven after its kind, ¹⁵ And the ostrich, and the nighthawk, and the sea gull, and the hawk after their kinds, ¹⁶ The little owl, and the great owl, and the water hen, ¹⁷ And the pelican, and the carrion vulture, and the cormorant, ¹⁸ And the stork, and the heron after its kind, and the hoopoe, and the bat. ¹⁹ And every winged insect is unclean unto you: they shall not be eaten. ²⁰ But of all clean fowls you may eat. ²¹ You shall not eat of anything that dies of itself: you shall give it unto the stranger that is in your gates, that he may eat it; or you may sell it unto a foreigner: for you are a holy people unto the LORD your God. you shall not boil a kid in its mother's milk.

²³ And they shall teach my people the difference between the holy and the common, and cause them to discern between the unclean and the clean.

¹¹ And saw heaven opened, and a certain vessel descending unto him, as it had been a great sheet held at the four corners, and let down to the earth: ¹² In which were all manner of four-footed beasts of the earth, and wild beasts, and creeping things, and fowls of the air. ¹³ And there came a voice to him, Rise, Peter; kill, and eat. ¹⁴ But Peter said, Not so, Lord; for I have never eaten anything that is common or unclean. ¹⁵ And the voice spoke unto him again the second time, What God has cleansed, that call not common.

⁵ And every plant of the field before it was in the earth, and every herb of the field before it grew: for the LORD God had not caused it to rain upon the earth, and there was not a man to till the ground.

³ And the LORD said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be a hundred and twenty years.

⁷ And the LORD said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for I am sorry that I have made them.

¹³ And God said unto Noah, The end of all flesh is come before me; for the earth is filled with violence through them; and, behold, I will destroy them with the earth.

¹⁷ And, behold, I, even I, do bring a flood of waters upon the earth, to destroy all flesh, in which is the breath of life, from under heaven; and everything that is in the earth shall die.

¹⁰ And it came to pass after seven days, that the waters of the flood were upon the earth.

¹² And the rain was upon the earth forty days and forty nights.

¹⁷ And the flood was forty days upon the earth; and the waters increased, and bore up the ark, and it was lifted up above the earth.

²¹ And all flesh died that moved upon the earth, both of fowl, and of cattle, and of beast, and of every creeping thing that creeps upon the earth, and every man: ²² All in whose nostrils was the breath of life, of all that was in the dry land, died. ²³ And every living thing was destroyed which was upon the face of the ground, both man, and cattle, and the creeping things, and the fowl of the heaven; and they were destroyed from the earth: and Noah only remained alive, and they that were with him in the ark.

¹⁰ And he waited yet other seven days; and again he sent forth the dove out of the ark;

¹² And he stayed yet another seven days; and sent forth the dove; which returned not again unto him any more.

²⁷ Fulfill her week, and we will give you this other also for the service which you shall serve with me yet seven other years. ²⁸ And Jacob did so, and fulfilled her week: and he gave him Rachel his daughter to wife also.

³² Yet now, if you will forgive their sin--; and if not, blot me, I pray you, out of your book which you have written. ³³ And the LORD said unto Moses, Whosoever has sinned against me, him will I blot out of my book.

¹⁶ Who were cut down before their time, whose foundation was swept away with a flood:

²⁵ To make the weight for the wind; and he apportions the waters by measure.

²⁷ For he makes small the drops of water: they pour down rain according to its vapor: ²⁸ Which the clouds do drop and pour upon man abundantly. ²⁹ Also can any understand the spreadings of the clouds, or the thunder of his tabernacle? ³⁰ Behold, he spreads his lightning upon it, and covers the depths of the sea. ³¹ For by them judges he the people; he gives food in abundance. ³² With clouds he covers the light; and commands it not to shine by the cloud that comes between.

¹¹ Also with moisture he loads the thick cloud: he scatters his bright cloud: ¹² And it is turned around by his guidance: that they may do whatsoever he commands them upon the face of the whole earth.

²⁸ Let them be blotted out of the book of the living, and not be written with the righteous.

⁷ And also I have withheld the rain from you, when there were yet three months to the harvest: and I caused it to rain upon one city, and caused it not to rain upon another city: one part was rained upon, and the part upon which it rained not withered.

⁵ He that overcomes, the same shall be clothed in white clothing; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.

²² Thus did Noah; according to all that God commanded him, so did he.

³² Thus was all the work of the tabernacle of the tent of the congregation finished: and the children of Israel did according to all that the LORD commanded Moses, so did they.

⁴² According to all that the LORD commanded Moses, so the children of Israel did all the work. ⁴³ And Moses did look upon all the work, and, behold, they had done it as the LORD had commanded, even so had they done it: and Moses blessed them.

¹⁶ Thus did Moses: according to all that the LORD commanded him, so did he.

⁶ Then shall I not be ashamed, when I have respect unto all your commandments.

¹⁵ And Jesus answering said unto him, Permit it to be so now: for thus it is fitting for us to fulfill all righteousness. Then he permitted him.

²¹ And he answered and said unto them, My mother and my brothers are these who hear the word of God, and do it.

⁵ His mother said unto the servants, whatsoever he says unto you, do it.

²⁸ Then said Jesus unto them, When you have lifted up the Son of man, then shall you know that I am he, and that I do nothing of myself; but as my Father has taught me, I speak these things. ²⁹ And he that sent me is with me: the Father has not left me alone; for I do always those things that please him.

¹⁷ If you know these things, happy are you if you do them.

⁸ And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.

⁸ Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered;

³² And Noah was five hundred years old: and Noah begat Shem, Ham, and Japheth.

¹³ And it came to pass in the six hundredth and first year, in the first month, the first day of the month, the waters were dried up from off the earth: and Noah removed the covering of the ark, and looked, and, behold, the face of the ground was dry.

¹⁸ But with you will I establish my covenant; and you shall come into the ark, you, and your sons, and your wife, and your sons' wives with you.

³ A prudent man foresees the evil, and hides himself: but the simple pass on, and are punished.

³⁸ For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark,

²⁷ They did eat, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark, and the flood came, and destroyed them all.

¹⁸ That by two immutable things, in that it was impossible for God to lie, we might have strong encouragement, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us:

⁵ And spared not the ancient world, but saved Noah the eighth person, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood upon the world of the ungodly;

¹⁹ And out of the ground the LORD God formed every beast of the field, and every fowl of the air; and brought them unto Adam to see what he would call them: and whatsoever Adam called every living creature, that was its name.

¹⁶ And they that went in, went in male and female of all flesh, as God had commanded him: and the LORD shut him in.

⁶ The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid; and the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a little child shall lead them. ⁷ And the cow and the bear shall feed; their young ones shall lie down together: and the lion shall eat straw like the ox. ⁸ And the nursing child shall play over the hole of the asp, and the weaned child shall put his hand on the adder’s den. ⁹ They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain: for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea.

²⁵ The wolf and the lamb shall feed together, and the lion shall eat straw like the ox: and dust shall be the serpent's food. They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain, says the LORD.

⁷ Yea, the stork in the heavens knows her appointed times; and the turtledove and the crane and the swallow observe the time of their coming; but my people know not the law of the LORD.

¹¹ And saw heaven opened, and a certain vessel descending unto him, as it had been a great sheet held at the four corners, and let down to the earth: ¹² In which were all manner of four-footed beasts of the earth, and wild beasts, and creeping things, and fowls of the air.

²⁸ There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for you are all one in Christ Jesus.

¹¹ Where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcision nor uncircumcision, Barbarian, Scythian, bond nor free: but Christ is all, and in all.

⁴ For yet seven days, and I will cause it to rain upon the earth forty days and forty nights; and every living thing that I have made will I destroy from off the face of the earth.

¹⁷ And the flood was forty days upon the earth; and the waters increased, and bore up the ark, and it was lifted up above the earth. ¹⁸ And the waters prevailed, and were increased greatly upon the earth; and the ark went upon the face of the waters. ¹⁹ And the waters prevailed exceedingly upon the earth; and all the high hills, that were under the whole heaven, were covered. ²⁰ Fifteen cubits above did the waters prevail; and the mountains were covered.

⁷ And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament: and it was so.

² The fountains also of the deep and the windows of heaven were stopped, and the rain from heaven was restrained;

² Then a lord on whose hand the king leaned answered the man of God, and said, Behold, if the LORD would make windows in heaven, might this thing be? And he said, Behold, you shall see it with your eyes, but shall not eat of it.

¹⁹ And that lord answered the man of God, and said, Now, behold, if the LORD should make windows in heaven, might such a thing be? And he said, Behold, you shall see it with your eyes, but shall not eat of it.

⁴ He breaks open a shaft away from the inhabitants; even in places forgotten of the foot: they are gone away from men, they swing to and fro.

⁸ Or who shut up the sea with doors, when it broke forth, as if it had issued out of the womb? ⁹ When I made the clouds its garment, and thick darkness its swaddling band, ¹⁰ And prescribed bounds for it, and set bars and doors, ¹¹ And said, Thus far shall you come, but no farther: and here shall your proud waves be stopped?

⁷ He gathers the waters of the sea together as a heap: he lays up the depth in storehouses.

¹⁵ You did break open the fountain and the flood: you dried up mighty rivers.

²³ Though he had commanded the clouds from above, and opened the doors of heaven, ²⁴ And had rained down manna upon them to eat, and had given them of the grain of heaven.

²⁸ When he established the clouds above: when he strengthened the fountains of the deep: ²⁹ When he gave to the sea his decree, that the waters should not pass his command: when he appointed the foundations of the earth:

¹⁹ The earth is utterly broken down, the earth is torn asunder, the earth is shaken exceedingly.

²² Fear you not me? says the LORD: will you not tremble at my presence, who has placed the sand for the bound of the sea by a perpetual decree, that it cannot pass it: and though its waves toss themselves, yet can they not prevail; though they roar, yet can they not pass over it?

¹⁶ When he utters his voice, there is a multitude of waters in the heavens; and he causes the vapors to ascend from the ends of the earth: he makes lightnings with rain, and brings forth the wind out of his storehouses.

¹⁹ For thus says the Lord GOD; When I shall make you a desolate city, like the cities that are not inhabited; when I shall bring up the deep upon you, and great waters shall cover you;

⁵ And the Lord GOD of hosts is he that touches the land, and it shall melt, and all that dwell in it shall mourn: and it shall rise up wholly like the river; and shall be drowned, as by the river of Egypt. ⁶ It is he that builds his chambers in the heavens, and has founded his vault upon the earth; he that calls for the waters of the sea, and pours them out upon the face of the earth: The LORD is his name.

¹⁰ Bring you all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house, and test me now in this, says the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.

³ For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction comes upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.

¹⁸ And Moses went into the midst of the cloud, and got him up into the mount: and Moses was in the mount forty days and forty nights.

⁹ When I was gone up into the mount to receive the tables of stone, even the tables of the covenant which the LORD made with you, then I abode in the mount forty days and forty nights, I neither did eat bread nor drink water:

¹⁸ And I fell down before the LORD, as at the first, forty days and forty nights: I did neither eat bread, nor drink water, because of all your sins which you sinned, in doing wickedly in the sight of the LORD, to provoke him to anger.

¹⁰ And I stayed in the mount, the same as the first time, forty days and forty nights; and the LORD hearkened unto me at that time also, and the LORD would not destroy you.

⁸ And he arose, and did eat and drink, and went in the strength of that food forty days and forty nights unto Horeb the mount of God.

² And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was afterward hungry.

¹⁰ And Noah begat three sons, Shem, Ham, and Japheth.

⁷ And Noah went in, and his sons, and his wife, and his sons' wives with him, into the ark, because of the waters of the flood. ⁸ Of clean beasts, and of beasts that are not clean, and of fowls, and of everything that creeps upon the earth, ⁹ There went in two by two unto Noah into the ark, the male and the female, as God had commanded Noah.

¹⁸ And the sons of Noah, that went forth of the ark, were Shem, and Ham, and Japheth: and Ham is the father of Canaan. ¹⁹ These are the three sons of Noah: and of them was the whole earth peopled.

¹ Now these are the generations of the sons of Noah, Shem, Ham, and Japheth: and unto them were sons born after the flood. ² The sons of Japheth; Gomer, and Magog, and Madai, and Javan, and Tubal, and Meshech, and Tiras.

⁶ And the sons of Ham; Cush, and Mizraim, and Put, and Canaan.

²¹ Unto Shem also, the father of all the children of Eber, the brother of Japheth the elder, even to him were children born.

⁴ Noah, Shem, Ham, and Japheth. ⁵ The sons of Japheth; Gomer, and Magog, and Madai, and Javan, and Tubal, and Meshech, and Tiras. ⁶ And the sons of Gomer; Ashkenaz, and Diphath, and Togarmah. ⁷ And the sons of Javan; Elishah, and Tarshish, Kittim, and Rodanim. ⁸ The sons of Ham; Cush, and Mizraim, Put, and Canaan. ⁹ And the sons of Cush; Seba, and Havilah, and Sabta, and Raamah, and Sabteca. And the sons of Raamah; Sheba, and Dedan. ¹⁰ And Cush begat Nimrod: he began to be mighty upon the earth. ¹¹ And Mizraim begat Ludim, and Anamim, and Lehabim, and Naphtuhim, ¹² And Pathrusim, and Casluhim, (of whom came the Philistines,) and Caphtorim. ¹³ And Canaan begat Sidon his firstborn, and Heth, ¹⁴ The Jebusite also, and the Amorite, and the Girgashite, ¹⁵ And the Hivite, and the Arkite, and the Sinite, ¹⁶ And the Arvadite, and the Zemarite, and the Hamathite. ¹⁷ The sons of Shem; Elam, and Asshur, and Arpachshad, and Lud, and Aram, and Uz, and Hul, and Gether, and Meshech. ¹⁸ And Arpachshad begat Shelah, and Shelah begat Eber. ¹⁹ And unto Eber were born two sons: the name of the one was Peleg; because in his days the earth was divided: and his brother’s name was Joktan. ²⁰ And Joktan begat Almodad, and Sheleph, and Hazarmaveth, and Jerah, ²¹ Hadoram also, and Uzal, and Diklah, ²² And Ebal, and Abimael, and Sheba, ²³ And Ophir, and Havilah, and Jobab. All these were the sons of Joktan. ²⁴ Shem, Arpachshad, Shelah, ²⁵ Eber, Peleg, Reu, ²⁶ Serug, Nahor, Terah, ²⁷ Abram; the same is Abraham. ²⁸ The sons of Abraham; Isaac, and Ishmael.

² Of every clean beast you shall take to you by sevens, the male and his female: and of beasts that are not clean by two, the male and his female. ³ Of fowls also of the air by sevens, the male and the female; to keep their kind alive upon the face of all the earth.

¹⁹ And of every living thing of all flesh, two of every sort shall you bring into the ark, to keep them alive with you; they shall be male and female. ²⁰ Of fowls after their kind, and of cattle after their kind, of every creeping thing of the earth after its kind, two of every sort shall come unto you, to keep them alive.

⁶ The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid; and the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a little child shall lead them.

²⁷ The eternal God is your refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms: and he shall thrust out the enemy from before you; and shall say, Destroy them.

⁴ And when you are come in, you shall shut the door upon you and upon your sons, and shall pour out into all those vessels, and you shall set aside that which is full. ⁵ So she went from him, and shut the door upon her and upon her sons, who brought the vessels to her; and she poured out.

² Therefore we will not fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea;

²³ Then shall you walk in your way safely, and your foot shall not stumble.

¹⁰ And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut.

²⁵ When once the Master of the house is risen up, and has shut the door, and you begin to stand outside, and to knock at the door, saying, Lord, Lord, open unto us; and he shall answer and say unto you, I know not where you come from:

²⁷ My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: ²⁸ And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. ²⁹ My Father, who gave them to me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand. ³⁰ I and my Father are one.

⁵ Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.

²⁸ And the waters returned, and covered the chariots, and the horsemen, and all the host of Pharaoh that came into the sea after them; there remained not so much as one of them.

¹⁵ Let not the floodwater overflow me, neither let the deep swallow me up, and let not the pit shut its mouth upon me.

²⁶ There go the ships: there is that leviathan, which you have made to play therein.

¹⁵ Behold, he withholds the waters, and they dry up: also he sends them out, and they overturn the earth.

² Therefore we will not fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; ³ Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof. Selah.

⁶ You covered it with the deep as with a garment: the waters stood above the mountains. ⁷ At your rebuke they fled; at the voice of your thunder they hastened away. ⁸ They go up by the mountains; they go down by the valleys unto the place which you have founded for them. ⁹ You have set a bound that they may not pass over; that they turn not again to cover the earth.

²³ Truly in vain is salvation hoped for from the hills, and from the multitude of mountains: truly in the LORD our God is the salvation of Israel.

⁶ By which the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished:

⁶ You covered it with the deep as with a garment: the waters stood above the mountains.

⁶ And the LORD was sorry that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him to his heart. ⁷ And the LORD said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for I am sorry that I have made them.

¹⁵ Have you marked the old way which wicked men have trodden? ¹⁶ Who were cut down before their time, whose foundation was swept away with a flood: ¹⁷ Who said unto God, Depart from us: and what can the Almighty do to us?

⁶ Therefore has the curse devoured the earth, and they that dwell in it are desolate: therefore the inhabitants of the earth are burned, and few men left.

²² For my people are foolish, they have not known me; they are stupid children, and they have no understanding: they are wise to do evil, but how to do good they have no knowledge. ²³ I beheld the earth, and, lo, it was without form, and void; and the heavens, and they had no light. ²⁴ I beheld the mountains, and, lo, they trembled, and all the hills moved to and fro. ²⁵ I beheld, and, lo, there was no man, and all the birds of the heavens were fled. ²⁶ I beheld, and, lo, the fruitful place was a wilderness, and all its cities were broken down at the presence of the LORD, and by his fierce anger. ²⁷ For thus has the LORD said, The whole land shall be desolate; yet will I not make a full end.

³ But you, O LORD, know me: you have seen me, and tested my heart toward you: pull them out like sheep for the slaughter, and prepare them for the day of slaughter. ⁴ How long shall the land mourn, and the herbs of every field wither, for the wickedness of them that dwell in it? the beasts are consumed, and the birds; because they said, He shall not see our latter end.

³ Therefore shall the land mourn, and every one that dwells in it shall languish, with the beasts of the field, and with the fowls of heaven; yea, the fish of the sea also shall be taken away.

¹⁷ The seed shrivels under the clods, the storehouses are laid desolate, the barns are broken down; for the grain has withered. ¹⁸ How the beasts groan! the herds of cattle are perplexed, because they have no pasture; yea, the flocks of sheep are made desolate. ¹⁹ O LORD, to you will I cry: for the fire has devoured the pastures of the wilderness, and the flame has burned all the trees of the field. ²⁰ The beasts of the field cry also unto you: for the rivers of waters are dried up, and the fire has devoured the pastures of the wilderness.

³ A fire devours before them; and behind them a flame burns: the land is as the garden of Eden before them, and behind them a desolate wilderness; yea, and nothing shall escape them.

³ I will consume man and beast; I will consume the fowls of the heaven, and the fish of the sea, and the stumbling blocks with the wicked; and I will cut off man from off the land, says the LORD.

³⁹ And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

²⁰ For the creation was made subject to vanity, not willingly, but by reason of him who has subjected the same in hope,

²² For we know that the whole creation groans and travails in pain together until now.

⁷ And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.

²¹ And all flesh died that moved upon the earth, both of fowl, and of cattle, and of beast, and of every creeping thing that creeps upon the earth, and every man: ²² All in whose nostrils was the breath of life, of all that was in the dry land, died.

²⁸ And the waters returned, and covered the chariots, and the horsemen, and all the host of Pharaoh that came into the sea after them; there remained not so much as one of them. ²⁹ But the children of Israel walked upon dry land in the midst of the sea; and the waters were a wall unto them on their right hand, and on their left. ³⁰ Thus the LORD saved Israel that day out of the hand of the Egyptians; and Israel saw the Egyptians dead upon the sea shore.

¹⁹ He shall deliver you in six troubles: yea, in seven there shall no evil touch you.

¹ He that dwells in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.

⁴ Riches profit not in the day of wrath: but righteousness delivers from death.

¹ Behold, the LORD makes the earth empty, and makes it waste, and turns it upside down, and scatters abroad its inhabitants. ² And it shall be, as with the people, so with the priest; as with the servant, so with his master; as with the maid, so with her mistress; as with the buyer, so with the seller; as with the lender, so with the borrower; as with the creditor, so with the debtor. ³ The land shall be utterly emptied, and utterly plundered: for the LORD has spoken this word. ⁴ The earth mourns and fades away, the world languishes and fades away, the haughty people of the earth do languish. ⁵ The earth also is defiled under its inhabitants; because they have transgressed the laws, changed the ordinance, broken the everlasting covenant. ⁶ Therefore has the curse devoured the earth, and they that dwell in it are desolate: therefore the inhabitants of the earth are burned, and few men left. ⁷ The new wine mourns, the vine languishes, all the merry-hearted do sigh. ⁸ The mirth of timbrels ceases, the noise of them that rejoice ends, the joy of the harp ceases.

¹⁴ Though these three men, Noah, Daniel, and Job, were in it, they should deliver only their own souls by their righteousness, says the Lord GOD. ¹⁵ If I cause wild beasts to pass through the land, and they ravage it, so that it is desolate, that no man may pass through because of the beasts: ¹⁶ Though these three men were in it, as I live, says the Lord GOD, they shall deliver neither sons nor daughters; they only shall be delivered, but the land shall be desolate. ¹⁷ Or if I bring a sword upon that land, and say, Sword, go through the land; so that I cut off man and beast from it: ¹⁸ Though these three men were in it, as I live, says the Lord GOD, they shall deliver neither sons nor daughters, but they only shall be delivered themselves. ¹⁹ Or if I send a pestilence into that land, and pour out my fury upon it in blood, to cut off from it man and beast: ²⁰ Though Noah, Daniel, and Job, were in it, as I live, says the Lord GOD, they shall deliver neither son nor daughter; they shall only deliver their own souls by their righteousness.

¹⁷ And they shall be mine, says the LORD of hosts, in that day when I make up my jewels; and I will spare them, as a man spares his own son that serves him. ¹⁸ Then shall you return, and discern between the righteous and the wicked, between him that serves God and him that serves him not.

⁴⁶ And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.

²⁶ And as it was in the days of Noah, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man. ²⁷ They did eat, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark, and the flood came, and destroyed them all.

⁹ The Lord knows how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be punished:

³ And the waters returned from off the earth continually: and after the end of the hundred and fifty days the waters were abated. ⁴ And the ark rested in the seventh month, on the seventeenth day of the month, upon the mountains of Ararat.
