²³ Yet, LORD, you know all their counsel against me to slay me: forgive not their iniquity, neither blot out their sin from your sight, but let them be overthrown before you; deal thus with them in the time of your anger.

⁴ Hear, O our God; for we are despised: and turn their reproach upon their own head, and give them for a spoil in a land of captivity: ⁵ And cover not their iniquity, and let not their sin be blotted out from before you: for they have provoked you to anger before the builders.

⁴ Let them be confounded and put to shame that seek after my soul: let them be turned back and brought to confusion that devise my hurt.

³² The wicked watches the righteous, and seeks to slay him. ³³ The LORD will not leave him in his hand, nor condemn him when he is judged.

⁵ You therefore, O LORD God of hosts, the God of Israel, awake to punish all the nations: be not merciful to any wicked transgressors. Selah.

²² Let their table become a snare before them: and that which should have been for their welfare, let it become a trap. ²³ Let their eyes be darkened, that they see not; and make their loins continually to shake. ²⁴ Pour out your indignation upon them, and let your wrathful anger take hold of them. ²⁵ Let their habitation be desolate; and let none dwell in their tents. ²⁶ For they persecute him whom you have smitten; and they talk of the grief of those whom you have wounded. ²⁷ Add iniquity unto their iniquity: and let them not come into your righteousness. ²⁸ Let them be blotted out of the book of the living, and not be written with the righteous.

¹⁴ Let the iniquity of his fathers be remembered with the LORD; and let not the sin of his mother be blotted out. ¹⁵ Let them be before the LORD continually, that he may cut off the memory of them from the earth.

⁹ And man bows down, and the great man humbles himself: therefore forgive them not.

³ And what will you do in the day of punishment, and in the desolation which shall come from afar? to whom will you flee for help? and where will you leave your riches?

¹² Were they ashamed when they had committed abomination? nay, they were not at all ashamed, neither could they blush: therefore shall they fall among them that fall: in the time of their punishment they shall be cast down, says the LORD.

¹⁸ And the LORD has given me knowledge of it, and I know it: then you showed me their doings. ¹⁹ But I was like a lamb or an ox that is brought to the slaughter; and I knew not that they had devised plots against me, saying, Let us destroy the tree with its fruit, and let us cut him off from the land of the living, that his name may be no more remembered. ²⁰ But, O LORD of hosts, who judges righteously, who tests the mind and the heart, let me see your vengeance on them: for unto you have I revealed my cause.

²³ And there shall be no remnant of them: for I will bring evil upon the men of Anathoth, even the year of their judgment.

¹⁵ O LORD, you know: remember me, and visit me, and avenge me of my persecutors; take me not away in your longsuffering: know that for your sake I have suffered rebuke.

¹⁸ Then said they, Come, and let us devise plots against Jeremiah; for the law shall not perish from the priest, nor counsel from the wise, nor the word from the prophet. Come, and let us attack him with the tongue, and let us not give heed to any of his words.

²² For these are the days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled.

⁵ But according to your hardness and unrepentant heart treasure up unto yourself wrath against the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God;
