¹² Behold, in this you are not just: I will answer you, for God is greater than man.

²² In all this Job sinned not, nor charged God with wrong.

⁴ He is wise in heart, and mighty in strength: who has hardened himself against him, and has prospered?

¹⁴ Lo, these are only parts of his ways: and how little a whisper is heard of him? but the thunder of his power who can understand?

¹⁷ I said, I will answer also my part, I also will show my opinion.

¹⁰ Therefore hearken unto me, you men of understanding: far be it from God, that he should do wickedness; and from the Almighty, that he should commit iniquity. ¹¹ For the work of a man shall he render unto him, and cause every man to find according to his ways. ¹² Yea, surely God will not do wickedly, neither will the Almighty pervert justice.

¹⁷ Shall even he that hates right govern? and will you condemn him that is most just? ¹⁸ Is it fit to say to a king, You are wicked? and to princes, You are ungodly? ¹⁹ How much less to him that regards not the persons of princes, nor regards the rich more than the poor? for they all are the work of his hands.

²³ For he will not lay upon man more than what is right; that he should enter into judgment with God.

² Think you this to be right, that you said, My righteousness is more than God’s?

⁴ I will answer you, and your companions with you.

⁵ Behold, God is mighty, and despises no one: he is mighty in strength and wisdom.

²² Behold, God exalts by his power: who teaches like him? ²³ Who has prescribed him his way? or who can say, You have worked iniquity?

² Shall he that contends with the Almighty instruct him? he that reproves God, let him answer it.

⁸ Will you also annul my judgment? will you condemn me, that you may be righteous? ⁹ Have you an arm like God? or can you thunder with a voice like him?

²⁰ For there is not a just man upon earth, that does good, and sins not.

⁶ O house of Israel, cannot I do with you as this potter? says the LORD. Behold, as the clay is in the potter’s hand, so are you in my hand, O house of Israel.

²⁵ Yet you say, The way of the Lord is not equal. Hear now, O house of Israel; Is not my way equal? are not your ways unequal?

¹⁹ You will say then unto me, Why does he yet find fault? For who has resisted his will? ²⁰ Nay but, O man, who are you that replies against God? Shall the thing formed say to him that formed it, Why have you made me thus? ²¹ Has not the potter power over the clay, of the same lump to make one vessel unto honor, and another unto dishonor?
