³⁹ And Jesus said, For judgment I am come into this world, that they who see not might see; and that they who see might be made blind.

⁹ And he said, Go, and tell this people, Hear you indeed, but understand not; and see you indeed, but perceive not.

¹⁰ For the LORD has poured out upon you the spirit of deep sleep, and has closed your eyes: the prophets and your rulers, the seers has he covered.

¹⁸ Hear, you deaf; and look, you blind, that you may see. ¹⁹ Who is blind, but my servant? or deaf, as my messenger whom I sent? who is blind as he who is perfect, and blind as the LORD's servant? ²⁰ Seeing many things, but you observe not; opening the ears, but he hears not.

¹⁸ They have not known nor understood: for he has shut their eyes, that they cannot see; and their hearts, that they cannot understand.

⁹ Then the LORD put forth his hand, and touched my mouth. And the LORD said unto me, Behold, I have put my words in your mouth. ¹⁰ See, I have this day set you over the nations and over the kingdoms, to root out, and to pull down, and to destroy, and to throw down, to build, and to plant.

²³ But if your eye be evil, your whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in you be darkness, how great is that darkness!

⁵ The blind receive their sight, and the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, and the deaf hear, the dead are raised up, and the poor have the gospel preached to them.

¹³ Therefore speak I to them in parables: because seeing they see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand. ¹⁴ And in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Isaiah, who said, By hearing you shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing you shall see, and shall not perceive: ¹⁵ For this people's heart has become gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.

⁷⁹ To give light to them that sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the way of peace.

³⁴ And Simeon blessed them, and said unto Mary his mother, Behold, this child is set for the fall and rising again of many in Israel; and for a sign which shall be spoken against;

¹⁸ The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he has sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,

²¹ And in that same hour he cured many of their infirmities and plagues, and of evil spirits; and unto many that were blind he gave sight.

³⁴ The lamp of the body is the eye: therefore when your eye is sound, your whole body also is full of light; but when your eye is evil, your body also is full of darkness. ³⁵ Take heed therefore that the light which is in you be not darkness.

³⁰ And, behold, some are last who shall be first, and some are first who shall be last.

¹⁷ For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

¹⁹ And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.

²² For the Father judges no man, but has committed all judgment unto the Son: ²³ That all men should honor the Son, even as they honor the Father. He that honors not the Son honors not the Father who has sent him. ²⁴ Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that hears my word, and believes on him that sent me, has everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life. ²⁵ Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live. ²⁶ For as the Father has life in himself; so has he given to the Son to have life in himself; ²⁷ And has given him authority to execute judgment also, because he is the Son of man.

¹² Then spoke Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that follows me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.

¹⁵ You judge after the flesh; I judge no man.

²⁵ He answered and said, Whether he be a sinner or not, I know not: one thing I know, that, though I was blind, now I see.

³⁶ He answered and said, Who is he, Lord, that I might believe on him? ³⁷ And Jesus said unto him, You have both seen him, and it is he that talks with you. ³⁸ And he said, Lord, I believe. And he worshiped him.

⁴⁰ He has blinded their eyes, and hardened their hearts; that they should not see with their eyes, nor understand with their hearts, and be converted, and I should heal them. ⁴¹ These things said Isaiah, when he saw his glory, and spoke of him.

⁴⁶ I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believes on me should not abide in darkness.

¹⁸ To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them who are sanctified by faith that is in me.

⁷ What then? Israel has not obtained that which it seeks for; but the election has obtained it, and the rest were blinded ⁸ (According as it is written, God has given them the spirit of slumber, eyes that they should not see, and ears that they should not hear;) unto this day. ⁹ And David says, Let their table be made a snare, and a trap, and a stumbling block, and a recompense unto them: ¹⁰ Let their eyes be darkened that they may not see, and bow down their back always.

¹⁶ To the one we are the fragrance of death unto death; and to the other the fragrance of life unto life. And who is sufficient for these things?

⁴ In whom the god of this age has blinded the minds of them who believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them. ⁵ For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus' sake. ⁶ For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, has shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

¹⁴ Therefore he says, Awake you that sleep, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give you light.

¹⁰ And with all deception of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.

⁹ But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own; that you should show forth the praises of him who has called you out of darkness into his marvelous light:

¹¹ But he that hates his brother is in darkness, and walks in darkness, and knows not where he goes, because that darkness has blinded his eyes.
