⁷ And shall not God avenge his own elect, who cry day and night unto him, though he bears long with them?

¹² The LORD judge between me and you, and the LORD avenge me of you: but my hand shall not be upon you. ¹³ As says the proverb of the ancients, Wickedness proceeds from the wicked: but my hand shall not be upon you. ¹⁴ After whom is the king of Israel come out? after whom do you pursue? after a dead dog, after a flea. ¹⁵ The LORD therefore be judge, and judge between me and you, and see, and plead my cause, and deliver me out of your hand.

¹⁰ David said furthermore, As the LORD lives, the LORD shall strike him; or his day shall come to die; or he shall descend into battle, and perish. ¹¹ The LORD forbid that I should stretch forth my hand against the LORD'S anointed: but, I pray you, take you now the spear that is at his head, and the jar of water, and let us go.

⁸ And he shall judge the world in righteousness, he shall minister judgment to the people in uprightness.

¹⁵ Break the arm of the wicked and the evil man: seek out his wickedness till you find none. ¹⁶ The LORD is King forever and ever: the nations are perished out of his land. ¹⁷ LORD, you have heard the desire of the humble: you will prepare their heart, you will cause your ear to hear: ¹⁸ To judge the fatherless and the oppressed, that the man of the earth may no more oppress.

¹¹ But the LORD is with me as a mighty terrible one: therefore my persecutors shall stumble, and they shall not prevail: they shall be greatly ashamed; for they shall not prosper: their everlasting confusion shall never be forgotten. ¹² But, O LORD of hosts, who tests the righteous, and sees the mind and the heart, let me see your vengeance on them: for unto you have I opened my cause. ¹³ Sing unto the LORD, praise you the LORD: for he has delivered the soul of the poor from the hand of evildoers.

³ For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarries, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not delay.

¹¹ If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father who is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?

³⁷ And she was a widow of about fourscore and four years, who departed not from the temple, but served God with fastings and prayers night and day.

³³ Who shall lay anything to the charge of God's elect? It is God that justifies.

¹⁰ Night and day praying exceedingly that we might see your face, and might perfect that which is lacking in your faith?

⁶ Seeing it is a righteous thing with God to recompense tribulation to them that trouble you;

⁵ Now she that is a widow indeed, and desolate, trusts in God, and continues in supplications and prayers night and day.

³ I thank God, whom I serve from my forefathers with pure conscience, that without ceasing I have remembrance of you in my prayers night and day;

¹ Paul, a servant of God, and an apostle of Jesus Christ, according to the faith of God's elect, and the acknowledging of the truth which is after godliness;

³⁵ Cast not away therefore your confidence, which has great recompense of reward. ³⁶ For you have need of patience, that, after you have done the will of God, you might receive the promise. ³⁷ For yet a little while, and he that shall come will come, and will not tarry.

⁹ The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

¹⁰ And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, do you not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth?

¹⁵ Therefore are they before the throne of God, and serve him day and night in his temple: and he that sits on the throne shall dwell among them.

²⁰ Rejoice over her, you heaven, and you holy apostles and prophets; for God has avenged you on her.
