³ Listen; Behold, there went out a sower to sow:

¹ Now therefore hearken, O Israel, unto the statutes and unto the judgments, which I teach you, to do them, that you may live, and go in and possess the land which the LORD God of your fathers gives you.

¹¹ Come, you children, hearken unto me: I will teach you the fear of the LORD.

¹⁰ Hearken, O daughter, and consider, and incline your ear; forget also your own people, and your father's house;

²⁴ Hearken unto me now therefore, O you children, and attend to the words of my mouth.

³² Now therefore hearken unto me, O you children: for blessed are they that keep my ways.

⁶ In the morning sow your seed, and in the evening withhold not your hand: for you know not which shall prosper, either this or that, or whether they both alike shall be good.

²³ Give ear, and hear my voice; hearken, and hear my speech. ²⁴ Does the plowman keep plowing all day to sow? does he keep opening and breaking the clods of his ground? ²⁵ When he has made level the face of it, does he not sow the dill, and scatter the cummin, and plant the wheat in rows and the barley and the spelt in their places? ²⁶ For his God does instruct him aright, and does teach him.

³ Hearken unto me, O house of Jacob, and all the remnant of the house of Israel, who are borne by me from birth, who are carried from the womb:

¹² Hearken unto me, you stubborn of heart, that are far from righteousness:

¹ Ho, everyone that thirsts, come you to the waters, and he that has no money; come you, buy, and eat; yea, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price. ² Why do you spend money for that which is not bread? and your labor for that which satisfies not? hearken diligently unto me, and eat you that which is good, and let your soul delight itself in richness.

³ And he spoke many things unto them in parables, saying, Behold, a sower went forth to sow;

²⁴ Another parable put he forth unto them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is likened unto a man who sowed good seed in his field:

²⁶ But when the plant was sprung up, and brought forth fruit, then appeared the tares also.

⁹ And he said unto them, He that has ears to hear, let him hear.

¹⁴ The sower sows the word.

²³ If any man has ears to hear, let him hear.

²⁶ And he said, So is the kingdom of God, as if a man should cast seed into the ground; ²⁷ And should sleep, and rise night and day, and the seed should spring and grow up, he knows not how. ²⁸ For the earth brings forth fruit of itself; first the blade, then the ear, after that the full grain in the ear. ²⁹ But when the fruit is brought forth, immediately he puts in the sickle, because the harvest is come.

¹⁴ And when he had called all the people unto him, he said unto them, Hearken unto me every one of you, and understand: ¹⁵ There is nothing from outside a man, that entering into him can defile him: but the things which come out of him, those are they that defile the man.

⁵ A sower went out to sow his seed: and as he sowed, some fell by the wayside; and it was trodden down, and the fowls of the air devoured it. ⁶ And some fell upon a rock; and as soon as it was sprung up, it withered away, because it lacked moisture. ⁷ And some fell among thorns; and the thorns sprang up with it, and choked it. ⁸ And other fell on good ground, and sprang up, and bore fruit a hundredfold. And when he had said these things, he cried, He that has ears to hear, let him hear.

³⁵ Say not, There are yet four months, and then comes harvest? behold, I say unto you, Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest. ³⁶ And he that reaps receives wages, and gathers fruit unto life eternal: that both he that sows and he that reaps may rejoice together. ³⁷ And in this is that saying true, One sows, and another reaps. ³⁸ I sent you to reap that on which you bestowed no labor: other men labored, and you are entered into their labors.

¹⁴ But Peter, standing up with the eleven, lifted up his voice, and said unto them, You men of Judea, and all you that dwell at Jerusalem, be this known unto you, and hearken to my words:

⁶ I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase. ⁷ So then neither is he that plants anything, neither he that waters; but God that gives the increase. ⁸ Now he that plants and he that waters are one: and every man shall receive his own reward according to his own labor. ⁹ For we are laborers together with God: you are God's field, you are God's building.

¹ Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest at any time we should let them slip. ² For if the word spoken by angels was steadfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just recompense of reward; ³ How shall we escape, if we neglect so great a salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him;

⁵ Hearken, my beloved brethren, Has not God chosen the poor of this world rich in faith, and heirs of the kingdom which he has promised to them that love him?

⁷ He that has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says unto the churches; To him that overcomes will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God.

¹¹ He that has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says unto the churches; He that overcomes shall not be hurt of the second death.
