¹⁹ When any one hears the word of the kingdom, and understands it not, then comes the wicked one, and catches away that which was sown in his heart. This is he who received seed by the way side.

⁷ The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.

²⁰ Wisdom cries aloud outside; she raises her voice in the open square: ²¹ She cries in the chief place of concourse, in the openings of the gates: in the city she utters her words, saying, ²² How long, you simple ones, will you love simplicity? and the scoffers delight in their scoffing, and fools hate knowledge?

¹ My son, if you will receive my words, and lay up my commandments with you; ² So that you incline your ear unto wisdom, and apply your heart to understanding; ³ Yea, if you cry after knowledge, and lift up your voice for understanding; ⁴ If you seek her as silver, and search for her as for hid treasures; ⁵ Then shall you understand the fear of the LORD, and find the knowledge of God. ⁶ For the LORD gives wisdom: out of his mouth comes knowledge and understanding.

¹⁶ Why is there a price in the hand of a fool to get wisdom, seeing he has no heart for it?

¹ A man, having separated himself, seeks his own desire, and rages against all sound wisdom. ² A fool has no delight in understanding, but that his heart may express itself.

²³ And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all manner of sickness and all manner of disease among the people.

³⁷ But let your communication be, Yea, yea; Nay, nay: for whatsoever is more than these comes from evil.

³⁸ The field is the world; the good seed are the children of the kingdom; but the tares are the children of the wicked one;

¹⁵ And these are they by the wayside, where the word is sown; but when they have heard, Satan comes immediately, and takes away the word that was sown in their hearts.

¹¹ Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God. ¹² Those by the wayside are they that hear; then comes the devil, and takes away the word out of their hearts, lest they should believe and be saved. ¹³ Those on the rock are they, who, when they hear, receive the word with joy; and these have no root, who for awhile believe, and in time of temptation fall away. ¹⁴ And that which fell among thorns are they, who, when they have heard, go forth, and are choked with cares and riches and pleasures of this life, and bring no fruit to maturity. ¹⁵ But that on the good ground are they, who in an honest and good heart, having heard the word, keep it, and bring forth fruit with patience.

² And he sent them to preach the kingdom of God, and to heal the sick.

⁹ And heal the sick that are therein, and say unto them, The kingdom of God is come near unto you.

¹⁹ And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. ²⁰ For everyone that does evil hates the light, neither comes to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed.

⁴³ Why do you not understand my speech? even because you cannot hear my word.

³⁸ Pilate said unto him, What is truth? And when he had said this, he went out again unto the Jews, and said unto them, I find in him no fault at all.

³² And when they heard of the resurrection of the dead, some mocked: and others said, We will hear you again of this matter.

¹⁵ But if it be a question of words and names, and of your law, look you to it; for I will be no judge of such matters.

²⁵ And now, behold, I know that you all, among whom I have gone preaching the kingdom of God, shall see my face no more.

²⁵ And as he reasoned about righteousness, self-control, and judgment to come, Felix trembled, and answered, Go your way for this time; when I have a convenient time, I will call for you. ²⁶ He hoped also that money should have been given him by Paul, that he might release him: therefore he sent for him often, and conferred with him.

¹⁹ But had certain questions against him of their own religion, and of one Jesus, who was dead, whom Paul affirmed to be alive. ²⁰ And because I was perplexed concerning such manner of questions, I asked him whether he would go to Jerusalem, and there be judged of these matters.

³¹ And when they were gone aside, they talked between themselves, saying, This man does nothing worthy of death or of bonds. ³² Then said Agrippa unto Festus, This man might have been set at liberty, if he had not appealed unto Caesar.

²³ And when they had appointed him a day, there came many to him into his lodging; to whom he expounded and testified of the kingdom of God, persuading them concerning Jesus, both out of the law of Moses, and out of the prophets, from morning till evening.

²⁸ And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not proper;

⁸ But unto them that are contentious, and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, indignation and wrath,

¹⁷ For the kingdom of God is not food and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit.

² But have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully; but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight of God. ³ But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost:

⁸ Unto me, who am less than the least of all saints, is this grace given, that I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ;

¹² That they all might be condemned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

¹ Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest at any time we should let them slip.

¹³ I write unto you, fathers, because you have known him who is from the beginning. I write unto you, young men, because you have overcome the wicked one. I write unto you, little children, because you have known the Father. ¹⁴ I have written unto you, fathers, because you have known him who is from the beginning. I have written unto you, young men, because you are strong, and the word of God abides in you, and you have overcome the wicked one.

¹² Not as Cain, who was of that wicked one, and slew his brother. And why slew he him? Because his own works were evil, and his brother's righteous.

¹⁸ We know that whosoever is born of God sins not; but he that is begotten of God keeps himself, and that wicked one touches him not.

²⁰ And we know that the Son of God is come, and has given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life.
