³¹ And you shall eat it in every place, you and your households: for it is your reward for your service in the tabernacle of meeting.

²² You shall truly tithe all the increase of your seed, that the field brings forth year by year. ²³ And you shall eat before the LORD your God, in the place which he shall choose to place his name there, the tithe of your grain, of your wine, and of your oil, and the firstlings of your herds and of your flocks; that you may learn to fear the LORD your God always.

¹⁰ Nor bag for your journey, neither two coats, neither shoes, nor yet a staff: for the workman is worthy of his food.

⁷ And in the same house remain, eating and drinking such things as they give: for the laborer is worthy of his hire. Go not from house to house.

¹⁰ Or says he it altogether for our sakes? For our sakes, no doubt, this is written: that he that plows should plow in hope; and that he that threshes in hope should be partaker of his hope. ¹¹ If we have sown unto you spiritual things, is it a great thing if we shall reap your material things? ¹² If others be partakers of this right over you, are not we rather? Nevertheless we have not used this right; but endure all things, lest we should hinder the gospel of Christ. ¹³ Do you not know that they who minister about holy things live of the things of the temple? and they who wait at the altar are partakers with the altar? ¹⁴ Even so has the Lord ordained that they who preach the gospel should live of the gospel.

¹³ For what is it in which you were inferior to other churches, except it be that I myself was not burdensome to you? forgive me this wrong.

⁶ Let him that is taught in the word share with him that teaches in all good things.

¹⁷ Let the elders that rule well be counted worthy of double honor, especially they who labor in the word and doctrine. ¹⁸ For the scripture says, You shall not muzzle the ox that treads out the grain. And, The laborer is worthy of his reward.
