³ When my spirit was overwhelmed within me, then you knew my path. In the way in which I walked have they secretly laid a snare for me.

¹⁰ But he knows the way that I take: when he has tested me, I shall come forth as gold.

⁶ For the LORD knows the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish.

³ You have proved my heart; you have visited me in the night; you have tested me, and shall find nothing; I have purposed that my mouth shall not transgress.

¹⁴ I am poured out like water, and all my bones are out of joint: my heart is like wax; it is melted in the midst of my body.

⁴ Pull me out of the net that they have laid secretly for me: for you are my strength.

⁷ For without cause have they hid for me their net in a pit, which without cause they have dug for my soul. ⁸ Let destruction come upon him unawares; and let his net that he has hid catch himself: into that very destruction let him fall.

⁶ They gather themselves together, they hide themselves, they mark my steps, when they wait for my soul.

² From the end of the earth will I cry unto you, when my heart is overwhelmed: lead me to the rock that is higher than I.

³ I remembered God, and was troubled: I complained, and my spirit was overwhelmed. Selah.

⁴ My heart is smitten, and withered like grass; so that I forget to eat my bread.

² You know my downsitting and my uprising, you understand my thought afar off. ³ You search out my path and my lying down, and are acquainted with all my ways. ⁴ For there is not a word in my tongue, but, lo, O LORD, you know it altogether.

⁵ The proud have hid a snare for me, and cords; they have spread a net by the wayside; they have set traps for me. Selah.

⁹ Keep me from the snares which they have laid for me, and the traps of the workers of iniquity.

⁴ Therefore is my spirit overwhelmed within me; my heart within me is desolate.

²² Let a cry be heard from their houses, when you shall bring a troop suddenly upon them: for they have dug a pit to take me, and hid snares for my feet.
