² The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD, and against his anointed, saying,

⁷ And in the morning, then you shall see the glory of the LORD; for he hears your murmurings against the LORD: and what are we, that you murmur against us?

¹⁰ Be wise now therefore, O you kings: be instructed, you judges of the earth.

⁷ You love righteousness, and hate wickedness: therefore God, your God, has anointed you with the oil of gladness above your fellows.

⁴ For, lo, the kings were assembled, they passed by together.

¹⁸ Remember this, that the enemy has reproached, O LORD, and that the foolish people have blasphemed your name.

²³ Forget not the voice of your enemies: the tumult of those that rise up against you increases continually.

²⁰ I have found David my servant; with my holy oil have I anointed him:

⁵ The Lord at your right hand shall strike through kings in the day of his wrath.

³⁰ There is no wisdom nor understanding nor counsel against the LORD.

¹ The spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD has anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound;

⁵⁹ Now the chief priests, and elders, and all the council, sought false witness against Jesus, to put him to death;

¹ When the morning was come, all the chief priests and elders of the people took counsel against Jesus to put him to death:

³¹ The same day there came certain of the Pharisees, saying unto him, Get out, and depart from here: for Herod will kill you.

¹¹ And Herod with his men of war despised him, and mocked him, and arrayed him in a gorgeous robe, and sent him again to Pilate. ¹² And the same day Pilate and Herod were made friends together: for before they were at enmity between themselves.

⁴¹ He first found his own brother Simon, and said unto him, We have found the Messiah, which is, being interpreted, the Christ.

³⁴ For he whom God has sent speaks the words of God: for God gives not the Spirit by measure unto him.

²³ He that hates me hates my Father also.

⁵ And it came to pass on the next day, that their rulers, and elders, and scribes, ⁶ And Annas the high priest, and Caiaphas, and John, and Alexander, and as many as were of the kindred of the high priest, were gathered together at Jerusalem. ⁷ And when they had set them in the midst, they asked, By what power, or by what name, have you done this? ⁸ Then Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit, said unto them, You rulers of the people, and elders of Israel,

⁴ And he fell to the earth, and heard a voice saying unto him, Saul, Saul, why do you persecute me?

³⁸ How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.

¹ Now about that time Herod the king stretched forth his hands to persecute certain of the church. ² And he killed James the brother of John with the sword. ³ And because he saw it pleased the Jews, he proceeded further to take Peter also. (Then were the days of unleavened bread.) ⁴ And when he had apprehended him, he put him in prison, and delivered him to four squads of soldiers to keep him; intending after the passover to bring him forth to the people. ⁵ Peter therefore was kept in prison: but prayer was made without ceasing of the church unto God for him. ⁶ And when Herod would have brought him forth, the same night Peter was sleeping between two soldiers, bound with two chains: and the guards before the door kept the prison.

⁹ You have loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; therefore God, even your God, has anointed you with the oil of gladness above your fellows.

¹² And the ten horns which you saw are ten kings, who have received no kingdom as yet; but receive power as kings one hour with the beast. ¹³ These have one mind, and shall give their power and strength unto the beast. ¹⁴ These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings: and they that are with him are called, and chosen, and faithful.
