¹⁹ Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God has showed it unto them.

¹ [To the Chief Musician. A Psalm of David.] The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament shows his handiwork. ² Day unto day utters speech, and night unto night shows knowledge. ³ There is no speech nor language, where their voice is not heard. ⁴ Their line is gone out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world. In them has he set a tabernacle for the sun, ⁵ Which is as a bridegroom coming out of his chamber, and rejoices as a strong man to run a race. ⁶ Its going forth is from the end of the heaven, and its circuit unto the ends of it: and there is nothing hid from the heat thereof.

²⁶ Lift up your eyes on high, and behold who has created these things, that brings out their host by number: he calls them all by names by the greatness of his might, for he is strong in power; not one is missing.

¹⁰ But the LORD is the true God, he is the living God, and an everlasting king: at his wrath the earth shall tremble, and the nations shall not be able to endure his indignation. ¹¹ Thus shall you say unto them, The gods that have not made the heavens and the earth, even they shall perish from the earth, and from under these heavens. ¹² He has made the earth by his power, he has established the world by his wisdom, and has stretched out the heavens at his discretion. ¹³ When he utters his voice, there is a multitude of waters in the heavens, and he causes the vapors to ascend from the ends of the earth; he makes lightnings with rain, and brings forth the wind out of his storehouses.

⁹ That was the true Light, that lights every man that comes into the world.

¹⁶ Who in times past allowed all nations to walk in their own ways. ¹⁷ Nevertheless he left not himself without witness, in that he did good, and gave us rain from heaven, and fruitful seasons, filling our hearts with food and gladness.

²³ For as I passed by, and beheld your devotions, I found an altar with this inscription, TO THE UNKNOWN GOD. Whom therefore you ignorantly worship, him declare I unto you. ²⁴ God that made the world and all things therein, seeing that he is Lord of heaven and earth, dwells not in temples made with hands; ²⁵ Neither is worshiped with men's hands, as though he needed anything, seeing he gives to all life, and breath, and all things; ²⁶ And has made of one blood all nations of men to dwell on all the face of the earth, and has determined the times before appointed, and the bounds of their habitation; ²⁷ That they should seek the Lord, if perhaps they might feel after him, and find him, though he be not far from every one of us: ²⁸ For in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, For we are also his offspring. ²⁹ Therefore then as we are the offspring of God, we ought not to think that the Deity is like unto gold, or silver, or stone, graven by art and man's device. ³⁰ And the times of this ignorance God overlooked; but now commands all men everywhere to repent:

²⁰ For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and deity; so that they are without excuse:
