¹ Masters, give unto your servants that which is just and equal; knowing that you also have a Master in heaven. ² Continue in prayer, and watch in the same with thanksgiving; ³ Meanwhile praying also for us, that God would open unto us a door of utterance, to speak the mystery of Christ, for which I am also in bonds: ⁴ That I may make it manifest, as I ought to speak. ⁵ Walk in wisdom toward them that are without, redeeming the time. ⁶ Let your speech be always with grace, seasoned with salt, that you may know how you ought to answer every man. ⁷ All my state shall Tychicus declare unto you, who is a beloved brother, and a faithful minister and fellow servant in the Lord: ⁸ Whom I have sent unto you for the same purpose, that he might know your estate, and comfort your hearts; ⁹ With Onesimus, a faithful and beloved brother, who is one of you. They shall make known unto you all things which are done here. ¹⁰ Aristarchus my fellow prisoner salutes you, and Marcus, sister's son to Barnabas, (touching whom you received commandments: if he come unto you, receive him;) ¹¹ And Jesus, which is called Justus, who are of the circumcision. These only are my fellow workers unto the kingdom of God, which have been a comfort unto me. ¹² Epaphras, who is one of you, a servant of Christ, salutes you, always laboring fervently for you in prayers, that you may stand perfect and complete in all the will of God. ¹³ For I bear him record, that he has a great zeal for you, and them that are in Laodicea, and them in Hierapolis. ¹⁴ Luke, the beloved physician, and Demas, greet you. ¹⁵ Salute the brothers which are in Laodicea, and Nymphas, and the church which is in his house. ¹⁶ And when this epistle is read among you, cause that it be read also in the church of the Laodiceans; and that you likewise read the epistle from Laodicea. ¹⁷ And say to Archippus, Take heed to the ministry which you have received in the Lord, that you fulfill it. ¹⁸ The salutation by the hand of me Paul. Remember my bonds. Grace be with you. Amen.

⁸ But be not you called Rabbi: for one is your Master, even Christ; and all you are brothers. ⁹ And call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, who is in heaven.

⁴⁸ But and if that evil servant shall say in his heart, My lord delays his coming; ⁴⁹ And shall begin to smite his fellow servants, and to eat and drink with the drunken; ⁵⁰ The lord of that servant shall come in a day when he looks not for him, and in an hour that he is not aware of, ⁵¹ And shall cut him asunder, and appoint him his portion with the hypocrites: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

¹ And he said also unto his disciples, There was a certain rich man, which had a steward; and the same was accused unto him of wasting his possessions. ² And he called him, and said unto him, How is it that I hear this of you? give an account of your stewardship; for you may be no longer steward. ³ Then the steward said within himself, What shall I do? for my lord takes away from me the stewardship: I cannot dig; to beg I am ashamed. ⁴ I know what I may do, that when I am put out of the stewardship, they may receive me into their houses. ⁵ So he called every one of his lord's debtors unto him, and said unto the first, How much do you owe unto my lord? ⁶ And he said, A hundred measures of oil. And he said unto him, Take your bond, and sit down quickly, and write payment for fifty. ⁷ Then said he to another, And how much do you owe? And he said, A hundred measures of wheat. And he said unto him, Take your bond, and write payment for eighty. ⁸ And the lord commended the unjust steward, because he had done wisely: for the children of this world are in their generation wiser than the children of light. ⁹ And I say unto you, Make to yourselves friends by means of the mammon of unrighteousness; that, when you fail, you may be received into eternal dwellings. ¹⁰ He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much: and he that is unjust in the least is unjust also in much. ¹¹ If therefore you have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who will commit to your trust the true riches? ¹² And if you have not been faithful in that which is another man's, who shall give you that which is your own? ¹³ No servant can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon.

¹⁵ And it came to pass, that when he was returned, having received the kingdom, then he commanded these servants to be called unto him, to whom he had given the money, that he might know how much every man had gained by trading.

⁸ Knowing that whatsoever good thing any man does, the same shall he receive of the Lord, whether he be bond or free. ⁹ And, you masters, do the same things unto them, forbearing threatening: knowing that your Master also is in heaven; neither is there respect of persons with him. ¹⁰ Finally, my brothers, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. ¹¹ Put on the whole armour of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. ¹² For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. ¹³ Therefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. ¹⁴ Stand therefore, having your loins girded about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; ¹⁵ And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; ¹⁶ Above all, taking the shield of faith, with which you shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. ¹⁷ And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: ¹⁸ Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints; ¹⁹ And for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel, ²⁰ For which I am an ambassador in bonds: that in it I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.

¹³ For he shall have judgment without mercy, that has showed no mercy; and mercy rejoices against judgment.

⁴ Behold, the hire of the laborers who have reaped down your fields, which is of you kept back by fraud, cries: and the cries of those who have reaped are entered into the ears of the Lord of sabaoth.

¹⁴ These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings: and they that are with him are called, and chosen, and faithful.

¹⁶ And he has on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.

⁴¹ Watch and pray, that you enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.

³³ Take you heed, watch and pray: for you know not when the time is.

¹ And he spoke a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint;

³⁶ Watch you therefore, and pray always, that you may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.

¹² Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer;

¹⁸ Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;

⁶ Be anxious for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.

⁹ For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that you might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding;

⁷ Rooted and built up in him, and established in the faith, as you have been taught, abounding in it with thanksgiving.

¹⁵ And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also you are called in one body; and be you thankful.

¹⁷ And whatsoever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.

¹² Epaphras, who is one of you, a servant of Christ, salutes you, always laboring fervently for you in prayers, that you may stand perfect and complete in all the will of God.

¹⁷ Pray without ceasing. ¹⁸ In everything give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.

⁷ But the end of all things is at hand: be you therefore sober, and watch unto prayer.

¹¹ He answered and said unto them, Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given.

²⁷ And when they had come, and had gathered the church together, they rehearsed all that God had done with them, and how he had opened the door of faith unto the Gentiles.

³⁰ Now I beseech you, brothers, for the Lord Jesus Christ's sake, and for the love of the Spirit, that you strive together with me in your prayers to God for me; ³¹ That I may be delivered from them that do not believe in Judaea; and that my service which I have for Jerusalem may be accepted of the saints; ³² That I may come unto you with joy by the will of God, and may with you be refreshed.

¹ Let a man so account of us, as of the ministers of Christ, and stewards of the mysteries of God.

⁹ For a great and effective door is opened unto me, and there are many adversaries.

¹² Furthermore, when I came to Troas to preach Christ's gospel, and a door was opened unto me of the Lord,

¹ For this cause I Paul, the prisoner of Jesus Christ for you Gentiles,

¹ I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that you walk worthy of the vocation with which you are called,

⁷ Just as it is suitable for me to think this of you all, because I have you in my heart; inasmuch as both in my bonds, and in the defense and confirmation of the gospel, you all are partakers of my grace.

¹³ So that my bonds in Christ are manifest in all the palace, and in all other places; ¹⁴ And many of the brothers in the Lord, growing confident by my bonds, are much more bold to speak the word without fear.

¹⁹ For I know that this shall turn to my salvation through your prayer, and the supply of the Spirit of Jesus Christ,

²⁶ Even the mystery which has been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints:

² That their hearts might be comforted, being knit together in love, and unto all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the acknowledgement of the mystery of God, and of the Father, and of Christ; ³ In whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.

²⁵ Brethren, pray for us.

¹ Finally, brothers, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may have free course, and be glorified, just as it is with you: ² And that we may be delivered from unreasonable and wicked men: for all men have not faith.

¹⁶ The Lord give mercy unto the house of Onesiphorus; for he often refreshed me, and was not ashamed of my chain:

⁹ Wherein I suffer trouble, as an evil doer, even unto bonds; but the word of God is not bound.

²² But meanwhile prepare me also a lodging: for I trust that through your prayers I shall be given unto you.

¹⁸ Pray for us: for we trust we have a good conscience, in all things willing to live honestly. ¹⁹ But I beseech you the rather to do this, that I may be restored to you the sooner.

⁷ And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write; These things says he that is holy, he that is true, he that has the key of David, he that opens, and no man shuts; and shuts, and no man opens; ⁸ I know your works: behold, I have set before you an open door, and no man can shut it: for you have a little strength, and have kept my word, and have not denied my name.

²⁶ Fear them not therefore: for there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; and hid, that shall not be known. ²⁷ What I tell you in darkness, that speak you in light: and what you hear in the ear, that preach you upon the housetops.

²⁹ And now, Lord, behold their threatenings: and grant unto your servants, that with all boldness they may speak your word,

²⁹ Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men.

⁴ And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man's wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power: ⁵ That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.

¹⁴ Now thanks be unto God, which always causes us to triumph in Christ, and makes manifest the savour of his knowledge by us in every place. ¹⁵ For we are unto God a sweet savour of Christ, in them that are saved, and in them that perish: ¹⁶ To the one we are the savour of death unto death; and to the other the savour of life unto life. And who is sufficient for these things? ¹⁷ For we are not as many, which corrupt the word of God: but as of sincerity, but as of God, in the sight of God speak we in Christ.

¹² Seeing then that we have such hope, we use great plainness of speech:

¹ Therefore seeing we have this ministry, as we have received mercy, we faint not; ² But have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully; but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight of God. ³ But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: ⁴ In whom the god of this world has blinded the minds of those who believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.

²⁰ For which I am an ambassador in bonds: that in it I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.

⁶ Let your speech be always with grace, seasoned with salt, that you may know how you ought to answer every man.

¹⁶ Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be you therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves.

¹¹ And he said unto them, Unto you it is given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God: but unto them that are outside, all these things are done in parables:

¹⁹ For your obedience is come abroad unto all men. I am glad therefore on your behalf: but yet I would have you wise unto that which is good, and simple concerning evil.

¹² For what have I to do to judge them also that are outside? do not you judge them that are within? ¹³ But them that are outside God judges. Therefore put away from among yourselves that wicked person.

¹⁹ yet in the church I had rather speak five words with my understanding, that by my voice I might teach others also, than ten thousand words in an unknown tongue. ²⁰ Brethren, be not children in understanding: howbeit in malice be you children, but in understanding be men. ²¹ In the law it is written, With men of other tongues and other lips will I speak unto this people; and yet for all that will they not hear me, says the LORD. ²² Therefore tongues are for a sign, not to them that believe, but to them that believe not: but prophesying serves not for them that believe not, but for those who believe. ²³ If therefore the whole church be come together into one place, and all speak with tongues, and there come in those that are unlearned, or unbelievers, will they not say that you are mad? ²⁴ But if all prophesy, and there come in one that believes not, or one unlearned, he is convinced of all, he is judged of all: ²⁵ And thus are the secrets of his heart made manifest; and so falling down on his face he will worship God, and report that God is in you of a truth.

¹⁵ See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, ¹⁶ Redeeming the time, because the days are evil. ¹⁷ Therefore be you not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is.

¹⁶ Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.

¹² That you may walk honestly toward them that are outside, and that you may have lack of nothing.

⁷ Moreover he must have a good report of those who are outside; lest he fall into reproach and the snare of the devil.

⁵ If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that gives to all men liberally, and upbraids not; and it shall be given him.

¹³ Who is a wise man and endued with knowledge among you? let him show out of a good conduct his works with meekness of wisdom.

¹⁷ But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be entreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.

¹ Likewise, you wives, be in subjection to your own husbands; that, if any obey not the word, they also may without the word be won by the conduct of the wives;

¹³ You are the salt of the earth: but if the salt has lost its savour, with what shall it be salted? it is thereafter good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.

³⁴ O generation of vipers, how can you, being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. ³⁵ A good man out of the good treasure of the heart brings forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure brings forth evil things.

⁵⁰ Salt is good: but if the salt has lost its saltiness, with what will you season it? Have salt in yourselves, and have peace one with another.

²² And all bore him witness, and wondered at the gracious words which proceeded out of his mouth. And they said, Is not this Joseph's son?

²⁰ And they watched him, and sent forth spies, which should feign themselves just men, that they might take hold of his words, that so they might deliver him unto the power and authority of the governor. ²¹ And they asked him, saying, Master, we know that you say and teach rightly, neither accept you the person of any, but teach the way of God truly: ²² Is it lawful for us to give tribute unto Caesar, or no? ²³ But he perceived their craftiness, and said unto them, Why tempt you me? ²⁴ Show me a denarius. Whose image and superscription has it? They answered and said, Caesar's. ²⁵ And he said unto them, Render therefore unto Caesar the things which be Caesar's, and unto God the things which be God's. ²⁶ And they could not take hold of his words before the people: and they marvelled at his answer, and held their peace. ²⁷ Then came to him certain of the Sadducees, which deny that there is any resurrection; and they asked him, ²⁸ Saying, Master, Moses wrote unto us, If any man's brother die, having a wife, and he die without children, that his brother should take his wife, and raise up seed unto his brother. ²⁹ There were therefore seven brothers: and the first took a wife, and died without children. ³⁰ And the second took her to wife, and he died childless. ³¹ And the third took her; and in like manner the seven also: and they left no children, and died. ³² Last of all the woman died also. ³³ Therefore in the resurrection whose wife of them is she? for seven had her to wife. ³⁴ And Jesus answering said unto them, The children of this world marry, and are given in marriage: ³⁵ But they which shall be accounted worthy to obtain that world, and the resurrection from the dead, neither marry, nor are given in marriage: ³⁶ Neither can they die any more: for they are equal unto the angels; and are the children of God, being the children of the resurrection. ³⁷ Now that the dead are raised, even Moses showed at the bush, when he calls the Lord the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. ³⁸ For he is not a God of the dead, but of the living: for all live unto him. ³⁹ Then certain of the scribes answering said, Master, you have well said. ⁴⁰ And after that they dared not ask him any question at all.

²⁹ Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.

¹⁵ But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asks you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:

⁴ And there accompanied him into Asia Sopater of Berea; and of the Thessalonians, Aristarchus and Secundus; and Gaius of Derbe, and Timotheus; and of Asia, Tychicus and Trophimus.

¹ Let a man so account of us, as of the ministers of Christ, and stewards of the mysteries of God. ² Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful. ³ But with me it is a very small thing that I should be judged of you, or of man's judgment: yes, I judge not my own self. ⁴ For I know nothing by myself; yet am I not hereby justified: but he that judges me is the Lord.

²¹ But that you also may know my affairs, and how I do, Tychicus, a beloved brother and faithful minister in the Lord, shall make known to you all things: ²² Whom I have sent unto you for the same purpose, that you might know our affairs, and that he might comfort your hearts. ²³ Peace be to the brothers, and love with faith, from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

²⁵ Yet I supposed it necessary to send to you Epaphroditus, my brother, and companion in labor, and fellow soldier, but your messenger, and he that ministered to my wants.

⁹ With Onesimus, a faithful and beloved brother, who is one of you. They shall make known unto you all things which are done here.

¹² And Tychicus have I sent to Ephesus.

¹² When I shall send Areemas unto you, or Tychicus, be diligent to come unto me to Nicopolis: for I have determined there to winter.

¹⁷ For this cause have I sent unto you Timotheus, who is my beloved son, and faithful in the Lord, who shall bring you into remembrance of my ways which be in Christ, as I teach every where in every church.

⁴ Who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, by the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted of God.

⁷ So that contrariwise you ought rather to forgive him, and comfort him, lest perhaps such a one should be swallowed up with overmuch sorrow.

¹⁸ I desired Titus, and with him I sent a brother. Did Titus make a gain of you? walked we not in the same spirit? walked we not in the same steps?

²² Whom I have sent unto you for the same purpose, that you might know our affairs, and that he might comfort your hearts.

²⁸ I sent him therefore the more carefully, that, when you see him again, you may rejoice, and that I may be the less sorrowful.

² That their hearts might be comforted, being knit together in love, and unto all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the acknowledgement of the mystery of God, and of the Father, and of Christ;

¹¹ As you know how we exhorted and comforted and charged every one of you, as a father does his children,

² And sent Timotheus, our brother, and minister of God, and our fellow laborer in the gospel of Christ, to establish you, and to comfort you concerning your faith:

⁵ For this cause, when I could no longer hold back, I sent to know your faith, lest by some means the tempter have tempted you, and our labor be in vain.

¹⁸ Therefore comfort one another with these words.

¹¹ Therefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, just as also you do.

¹⁴ Now we exhort you, brothers, warn them that are unruly, comfort the fainthearted, support the weak, be patient toward all men.

¹⁷ Comfort your hearts, and establish you in every good word and work.

⁷ All my state shall Tychicus declare unto you, who is a beloved brother, and a faithful minister and fellow servant in the Lord:

¹⁰ I beseech you for my son Onesimus, whom I have begotten in my bonds: ¹¹ Which in time past was to you unprofitable, but now profitable to you and to me: ¹² Whom I have sent again: you therefore receive him, that is, my own insides: ¹³ Whom I would have retained with me, that in your stead he might have ministered unto me in the bonds of the gospel: ¹⁴ But without your mind would I do nothing; that your benefit should not be as it were of necessity, but willingly. ¹⁵ For perhaps he therefore departed for a season, that you should receive him forever; ¹⁶ Not now as a servant, but above a servant, a brother beloved, specially to me, but how much more unto you, both in the flesh, and in the Lord? ¹⁷ If you count me therefore a partner, receive him as myself. ¹⁸ If he has wronged you, or owes you anything, put that on mine account; ¹⁹ I Paul have written it with my own hand, I will repay it: albeit I do not say to you how you owe unto me even your own self besides.

³⁶ And Joses, who by the apostles was surnamed Barnabas, (which is, being interpreted, The son of consolation,) a Levite, and of the country of Cyprus,

¹² And when he had considered the thing, he came to the house of Mary the mother of John, whose surname was Mark; where many were gathered together praying.

⁵ And when they were at Salamis, they preached the word of God in the synagogues of the Jews: and they had also John to their minister.

¹³ Now when Paul and his company loosed from Paphos, they came to Perga in Pamphylia: and John departing from them returned to Jerusalem.

³⁷ And Barnabas determined to take with them John, whose surname was Mark. ³⁸ But Paul thought not good to take him with them, who departed from them from Pamphylia, and went not with them to the work. ³⁹ And the contention was so sharp between them, that they departed asunder one from the other: and so Barnabas took Mark, and sailed unto Cyprus;

²⁹ And the whole city was filled with confusion: and having caught Gaius and Aristarchus, men of Macedonia, Paul's companions in travel, they rushed with one accord into the theater.

² And entering into a ship of Adramyttium, we launched, meaning to sail by the borders of Asia; one Aristarchus, a Macedonian of Thessalonica, being with us.

² That you receive her in the Lord, as becomes saints, and that you assist her in whatsoever business she has need of you: for she has been a helper of many, and of myself also.

⁷ Salute Andronicus and Junia, my kinsmen, and my fellow prisoners, who are of note among the apostles, who also were in Christ before me.

²¹ Timotheus my fellow worker, and Lucius, and Jason, and Sosipater, my kinsmen, salute you. ²² I Tertius, who wrote this epistle, salute you in the Lord. ²³ Gaius my host, and of the whole church, salutes you. Erastus the chamberlain of the city salutes you, and Quartus a brother.

¹¹ Only Luke is with me. Take Mark, and bring him with you: for he is profitable to me for the ministry.

²⁴ Marcus, Aristarchus, Demas, Lucas, my fellow laborers.

¹³ The church that is at Babylon, elected together with you, salutes you; and so does Marcus my son.

⁸ Look to yourselves, that we lose not those things which we have wrought, but that we receive a full reward. ⁹ Whosoever transgresses, and abides not in the doctrine of Christ, has not God. He that abides in the doctrine of Christ, he has both the Father and the Son.

⁴⁵ And they of the circumcision which believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost.

² And when Peter was come up to Jerusalem, they that were of the circumcision contended with him,

¹² And the father of circumcision to them who are not of the circumcision only, but who also walk in the steps of that faith of our father Abraham, which he had being yet uncircumcised.

⁵ Who then is Paul, and who is Apollos, but ministers by whom you believed, just as the Lord gave to every man? ⁶ I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase. ⁷ So then neither is he that plants any thing, neither he that waters; but God that gives the increase. ⁸ Now he that plants and he that waters are one: and every man shall receive his own reward according to his own labor. ⁹ For we are laborers together with God: you are God's husbandry, you are God's building.

¹ We then, as workers together with him, beseech you also that you receive not the grace of God in vain.

⁶ Nevertheless God, that comforts those that are cast down, comforted us by the coming of Titus; ⁷ And not by his coming only, but by the consolation with which he was comforted in you, when he told us your earnest desire, your mourning, your fervent mind toward me; so that I rejoiced the more.

⁷ But contrariwise, when they saw that the gospel of the uncircumcision was committed unto me, as the gospel of the circumcision was unto Peter; ⁸ (For he that wrought effectively in Peter to the apostleship of the circumcision, the same was mighty in me toward the Gentiles:)

¹¹ Therefore remember, that you being in time past Gentiles in the flesh, who are called Uncircumcision by that which is called the Circumcision in the flesh made by hands;

³ And I entreat you also, true yokefellow, help those women which labored with me in the gospel, with Clement also, and with other my fellow laborers, whose names are in the book of life.

⁷ Therefore, brothers, we were comforted over you in all our affliction and distress by your faith:

¹⁰ For there are many unruly and vain talkers and deceivers, specially they of the circumcision:

¹ Paul, a prisoner of Jesus Christ, and Timothy our brother, unto Philemon our dearly beloved, and fellow laborer,

⁴⁸ Be you therefore perfect, just as your Father who is in heaven is perfect.

⁴⁴ And being in an agony he prayed more earnestly: and his sweat was as it were great drops of blood falling down to the ground.

²⁶ If any man serve me, let him follow me; and where I am, there shall also my servant be: if any man serve me, him will my Father honor.

¹⁴ And I myself also am persuaded of you, my brothers, that you also are full of goodness, filled with all knowledge, able also to admonish one another.

³⁰ Now I beseech you, brothers, for the Lord Jesus Christ's sake, and for the love of the Spirit, that you strive together with me in your prayers to God for me;

⁶ Howbeit we speak wisdom among them that are perfect: yet not the wisdom of this world, nor of the princes of this world, that come to nought:

²⁰ Brethren, be not children in understanding: howbeit in malice be you children, but in understanding be men.

¹¹ Finally, brothers, farewell. Be perfect, be of good comfort, be of one mind, live in peace; and the God of love and peace shall be with you.

¹⁰ For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ.

¹⁹ My little children, of whom I travail in birth again until Christ be formed in you,

¹² Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus. ¹³ Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, ¹⁴ I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. ¹⁵ Let us therefore, as many as be perfect, be thus minded: and if in any thing you be otherwise minded, God shall reveal even this unto you.

⁷ As you also learned of Epaphras our dear fellow servant, who is for you a faithful minister of Christ;

²² In the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in his sight:

²⁸ Whom we preach, warning every man, and teaching every man in all wisdom; that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus:

¹ For I would that you knew what great conflict I have for you, and for them at Laodicea, and for as many as have not seen my face in the flesh; ² That their hearts might be comforted, being knit together in love, and unto all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the acknowledgement of the mystery of God, and of the Father, and of Christ; ³ In whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. ⁴ And this I say, lest any man should beguile you with enticing words. ⁵ For though I be absent in the flesh, yet am I with you in the spirit, joying and beholding your order, and the steadfastness of your faith in Christ. ⁶ As you have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk you in him: ⁷ Rooted and built up in him, and established in the faith, as you have been taught, abounding in it with thanksgiving. ⁸ Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ. ⁹ For in him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily. ¹⁰ And you are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power: ¹¹ In whom also you are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ: ¹² Buried with him in baptism, in which also you are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who has raised him from the dead. ¹³ And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, has he given life together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses; ¹⁴ Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross; ¹⁵ And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a show of them openly, triumphing over them in it. ¹⁶ Let no man therefore judge you in food, or in drink, or in respect of a holy day, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days: ¹⁷ Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ. ¹⁸ Let no man beguile you of your reward in a false humility and worshipping of angels, intruding into those things which he has not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind, ¹⁹ And not holding the Head, from which all the body by joints and bands having nourishment ministered, and knit together, increases with the increase of God. ²⁰ Therefore if you be dead with Christ from the rudiments of the world, why, as though living in the world, are you subject to ordinances, ²¹ (Touch not; taste not; handle not; ²² Which all are to perish with the using;) after the commandments and doctrines of men? ²³ Which things have indeed a show of wisdom in will worship, and humility, and neglecting of the body: not in any honor to the satisfying of the flesh.

¹ Masters, give unto your servants that which is just and equal; knowing that you also have a Master in heaven. ² Continue in prayer, and watch in the same with thanksgiving;

²³ And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

²³ There salute you Epaphras, my fellow prisoner in Christ Jesus;

⁷ Who in the days of his flesh, when he had offered up prayers and supplications with strong crying and tears unto him that was able to save him from death, and was heard in that he feared;

¹⁴ But strong food belongs to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.

¹ James, a servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ, to the twelve tribes which are scattered abroad, greeting.

¹⁶ Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that you may be healed. The fervent prayer of a righteous man is effective and has great strength.

¹ Simon Peter, a servant and an apostle of Jesus Christ, to them that have obtained like precious faith with us through the righteousness of God and our Saviour Jesus Christ:

²⁴ Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy,

² For I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge.

³ For to their power, I bear record, yes, and beyond their power they were willing of themselves;

¹ For I would that you knew what great conflict I have for you, and for them at Laodicea, and for as many as have not seen my face in the flesh;

¹⁵ Salute the brothers which are in Laodicea, and Nymphas, and the church which is in his house. ¹⁶ And when this epistle is read among you, cause that it be read also in the church of the Laodiceans; and that you likewise read the epistle from Laodicea.

¹¹ Saying, I am Alpha and Omega, the first and the last: and, What you see, write in a book, and send it unto the seven churches which are in Asia; unto Ephesus, and unto Smyrna, and unto Pergamos, and unto Youratira, and unto Sardis, and unto Philadelphia, and unto Laodicea.

¹⁴ And unto the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write; These things says the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God; ¹⁵ I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot: I would you wert cold or hot. ¹⁶ So then because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spew you out of my mouth. ¹⁷ Because you say, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and know not that you are wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked: ¹⁸ I counsel you to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that you may be rich; and white clothing, that you may be clothed, and that the shame of your nakedness do not appear; and anoint your eyes with eye salve, that you may see.

¹⁰ For Demas has forsaken me, having loved this present world, and is departed unto Thessalonica; Crescens to Galatia, Titus unto Dalmatia. ¹¹ Only Luke is with me. Take Mark, and bring him with you: for he is profitable to me for the ministry.

⁵ Likewise greet the church that is in their house. Salute my well-beloved Epaenetus, who is the first fruits of Achaia unto Christ.

² And to our beloved Apphia, and Archippus our fellow soldier, and to the church in your house:

²⁷ I charge you by the Lord that this letter be read unto all the holy brothers.

¹⁴ And if any man obey not our word by this letter, note that man, and have no company with him, that he may be ashamed.

¹⁷ For he was numbered with us, and had obtained part of this ministry.

²³ And when they had ordained them elders in every church, and had prayed with fasting, they commended them to the Lord, on whom they believed.

²⁸ Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost has made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he has purchased with his own blood.

¹ Let a man so account of us, as of the ministers of Christ, and stewards of the mysteries of God. ² Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful.

¹¹ And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;

⁶ If you put the brothers in remembrance of these things, you shall be a good minister of Jesus Christ, nourished up in the words of faith and of good doctrine, whereunto you have attained.

¹⁴ Neglect not the gift that is in you, which was given you by prophecy, with the laying on of the hands of the presbytery.

¹⁶ Take heed unto yourself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this you shall both save yourself, and them that hear you.

¹¹ But you, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness. ¹² Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto you are also called, and have professed a good profession before many witnesses. ¹³ I give you charge in the sight of God, who gives life to all things, and before Christ Jesus, who before Pontius Pilate witnessed a good confession; ¹⁴ That you keep this commandment without spot, unrebukable, until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ:

²⁰ O Timothy, keep that which is committed to your trust, avoiding profane and vain babblings, and oppositions of science falsely so called:

⁶ Therefore I put you in remembrance that you stir up the gift of God, which is in you by the putting on of my hands.

² And the things that you have heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit you to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also.

¹ I charge you therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom; ² Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine. ³ For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; ⁴ And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables. ⁵ But watch you in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of your ministry.

²⁰ And the God of peace shall bruise Satan under your feet shortly. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen.

³ Meanwhile praying also for us, that God would open unto us a door of utterance, to speak the mystery of Christ, for which I am also in bonds:

¹⁷ The salutation of Paul with my own hand, which is the token in every letter: so I write.

²¹ Which some professing have erred concerning the faith. Grace be with you. Amen.

⁸ Be not you therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner: but be you partaker of the afflictions of the gospel according to the power of God;

²² The Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit. Grace be with you. Amen.

¹⁵ All that are with me salute you. Greet them that love us in the faith. Grace be with you all. Amen.

³ Remember them that are in bonds, as bound with them; and them which suffer adversity, as being yourselves also in the body.
