²¹ But he that does truth comes to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.

⁴⁷ Jesus saw Nathanael coming to him, and says of him, Behold an Israelite indeed, in whom is no guile!

³⁹ Search the scriptures; for in them you think you have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.

⁴ Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abide in the vine; no more can you, unless you abide in me. ⁵ I am the vine, you are the branches: He that abides in me, and I in him, the same brings forth much fruit: for without me you can do nothing.

¹¹ These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so. ¹² Therefore many of them believed; also of honorable women which were Greeks, and of men, not a few.

¹⁰ But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain; but I labored more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me.

¹² For our rejoicing is this, the testimony of our conscience, that in simplicity and godly sincerity, not with fleshly wisdom, but by the grace of God, we have had our conduct in the world, and more abundantly toward you.

²² But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, ²³ Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.

⁸ For he that sows to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that sows to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.

⁹ (For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth;)

¹¹ Being filled with the fruits of righteousness, which are by Jesus Christ, unto the glory and praise of God.

¹³ For it is God which works in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.

²⁹ Whereunto I also labor, striving according to his working, which works in me mightily.

²¹ Make you perfect in every good work to do his will, working in you that which is well pleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ; to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen.

²² Seeing you have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brothers, see that you love one another with a pure heart fervently:

⁵ And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge; ⁶ And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness; ⁷ And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness love. ⁸ For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that you shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. ⁹ But he that lacks these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and has forgotten that he was purged from his old sins. ¹⁰ Therefore instead, brothers, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if you do these things, you shall never fall:

⁶ If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:

²⁷ But the anointing which you have received of him abides in you, and you need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teaches you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and just as it has taught you, you shall abide in him. ²⁸ And now, little children, abide in him; that, when he shall appear, we may have confidence, and not be ashamed before him at his coming. ²⁹ If you know that he is righteous, you know that every one that does righteousness is born of him.

¹² No man has seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwells in us, and his love is perfected in us. ¹³ Hereby know we that we dwell in him, and he in us, because he has given us of his Spirit.

¹⁵ Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwells in him, and he in God. ¹⁶ And we have known and believed the love that God has to us. God is love; and he that dwells in love dwells in God, and God in him.

¹¹ Beloved, follow not that which is evil, but that which is good. He that does good is of God: but he that does evil has not seen God.

¹ And unto the angel of the church in Sardis write; These things says he that has the seven Spirits of God, and the seven stars; I know your works, that you have a name that you live, and are dead. ² Be watchful, and strengthen the things which remain, that are ready to die: for I have not found your works perfect before God.

¹⁵ I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot: I would you wert cold or hot.
