³⁸ And you have not his word abiding in you: for whom he has sent, him you believe not.

¹¹ He came unto his own, and his own received him not.

¹⁷ For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. ¹⁸ He that believes on him is not condemned: but he that believes not is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. ¹⁹ And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. ²⁰ For every one that does evil hates the light, neither comes to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. ²¹ But he that does truth comes to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.

⁴² But I know you, that you have not the love of God in you. ⁴³ I am come in my Father's name, and you receive me not: if another shall come in his own name, him you will receive.

⁴⁶ For had you believed Moses, you would have believed me; for he wrote of me. ⁴⁷ But if you believe not his writings, how shall you believe my words?

³⁷ I know that you are Abraham's seed; but you seek to kill me, because my word has no place in you.

⁴⁶ Which of you convinces me of sin? And if I say the truth, why do you not believe me? ⁴⁷ He that is of God hears God's words: you therefore hear them not, because you are not of God.

⁴⁴ Jesus cried and said, He that believes on me, believes not on me, but on him that sent me. ⁴⁵ And he that sees me sees him that sent me. ⁴⁶ I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believes on me should not abide in darkness. ⁴⁷ And if any man hear my words, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world. ⁴⁸ He that rejects me, and receives not my words, has one that judges him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day.

⁷ If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, you shall ask what you will, and it shall be done unto you.

¹⁶ Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.

²¹ Therefore lay aside all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls. ²² But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.

¹⁴ I have written unto you, fathers, because you have known him that is from the beginning. I have written unto you, young men, because you are strong, and the word of God abides in you, and you have overcome the wicked one.
